Eagle Cliff Campground & Lodging, Lanesboro, Minnesota

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This park is outstanding. The lawns are manicured, healthy, and very pleasing (especially after spending the winter in the desert.....the green lush lawns were wonderful). The pull through sites we were on were very long and there's a significant space between sites. The park sits on a river, which we weren't near, but I'm sure that there are sites on the river. The utilities are well placed except our sewer connection. That's the only reason we didn't give this park a 10. The connection is towards the back of the site, which is slightly uphill from the front of the site. Just up enough to not drain. And the connection sticks up about 6 inches out of the ground which exacerbates the problem. We had to jack the RV up a lot to get it to drain...so much so that the bottom step to get in the RV was a doozy. Verizon cell was OK -LTE with 2 bars, our site had no problem getting satellite signal and power and water were fine. We would come back here again. So peaceful and beautiful. We camped at Eagle Cliff Campground & Lodging in a Fifth Wheel.

Victorian Acres Campground, Nebraska City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, very nice! This park is pleasing to the eyes, very green, manicured lawns, and clean. Beautiful shade trees placed out of the way and the roads and sites are easy to navigate. We were here 4 nights and on Friday nite, when the park filled up, it didn't feel overly crowded. There is WiFi but slow and it drops off- like most other parks, Verizon cell signal was okay and utilities worked fine. The sewer hose location is awkward. Normally the hookup is towards the back of the site. This one is towards the front. Because of the slight slant of the sites it would appear the sewer hookup would be up hill. It wasn't, but almost. And because the location is towards the front, the neighbors hookup is next to your picnic table. Other than that this place was great and we'd come back. We camped at Victorian Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunny Meadows Campground, Elm Creek, Nebraska

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Maybe for an overnight, but nothing else. It is in the middle of nowhere, so close to the road you can reach out and touch it (road isn't overly traveled though), and muddy. The owner or host had spent some time re-arranging dirt then it rained. The mud holes were awful. When we were breaking down to leave we were wading around in mud and water. There was dog poop in our green area. We didn't use the laundry or showers so can't remark on that. The owner/host was friendly and helpful. We camped at Sunny Meadows Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Creekside RV Park and Campground, Chappell, Nebraska

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

If it wasn't for the high pitched hum from the coop and the railroad tracks being so close we would have given this park an 8 or 9. The park is very clean and pleasant to look at. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the electric not having a ground and he came over right away to help. We plugged in to the site next to us for that day. The next morning he was out there to fix the problem. The site was gravel and grass and level. The water was good, Verizon cell signal was good and the wifi was okay. There is a grain coop next door to the park and, when in operation, it puts out a high pitched hum. Fairly annoying. There are train tracks near and it is rather active. There are trains at night, but not as many as during the day. The trains do blow their horns whether it's day or night. We would stay there again but only for a couple of days. We camped at Creekside RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Buckley AFB Famcamp (Military FamCamp), Buckley AFB, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Roomy! Lots of space between each site. It looked like the sites are different lengths, so you need to find one to fit your rig. Shorter rigs, please do not take a site meant for a forty footer! The park is clean, well kept and the utilities worked fine. Verizon cell signal was good. The park is located adjacent to the base runway so, if they are active, it could be loud. The 4 days we were there we heard 1 helicopter and 2 jets - that's it. The roads are wide enough to get around easily and backing in or pulling through a site is very easy. We had a concrete pad surrounded by grass. We enjoyed our stay there and would go back. We camped at Buckley AFB Famcamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Summerlan RV Park, Raton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a destination RV Park, but it is okay to stop for an overnighter or 2 nights. It's right off the interstate, but not a lot of traffic noise, and close to town. The staff was friendly, the park was clean, and the utilities worked as they should. I found it to be roomy enough on either side of the RV, but sites are not too long. The property across the street from the park is all junked up, which gave the area a bad look. There are several seasonal or permanent RVs in the park. It was okay. I'd stay again, but only for an overnight. Overpriced!!!! We camped at Summerlan RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Santa Fe Skies is a very nice park. It is clean, easy to get to and easy to get around in. The wifi was good and Verizon cell signal was strong. Utilities were placed well and there is plenty of space between each rig. We have 2 complaints. First, the price is way too high. $56 for anything other than a resort with a lot of amenities and manicured grounds is overpriced - way overpriced. The other thing was the lack of lighting in the dog run at night. There should be some motion sensor lighting or something to light up the dog park. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We were on the very back row in #110. They are pull throughs and faced an empty field. The site was gravel (loose), plenty of space between rigs, and the utilities were placed very well. The other rows are pull throughs, but the bad thing is they are set up for social side to social side - utility side to utility side. We parked like that one time in North Dakota [face to face] with a stranger and didn't like it at all. We were very glad to go to the back row where the sites are not set up like that. There is an electrical station in the back row that had an alarm that went off once in a while. Very annoying beep, beep, beep. I just called the office and they came out and turned it off. They really need to fix that. The staff/owners are very USA vet/military friendly. They appreciate those that have served. Wifi was okay except during real busy times like around 7:00 pm. Verizon cell signal was good. All in all, we would stay there again. We camped at USA RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Page Lake Powell Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was a fine campground. Our site in the electric/water only section was a little unlevel front to back but nothing we couldn't deal with. The park was clean and, because our site was on the end of a row, we had plenty of room. Although, the rest of the park looked comfortable also. There are many seasonal rigs there but it's not a homesteading park. The wifi was strong and so was the Verizon cell signal. The staff was friendly and, overall, this was a pleasant park. We would stay there again. As with most RV parks these days I find the price a little high. We camped at Page Lake Powell Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Kanab RV Corral, Kanab, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay at this park. It is small and the sites are a little close together, but certainly not uncomfortable. The sites are level and the whole park is gravel. The staff was very friendly and helpful about the area. They claim to have super fast wifi. We didn't find it to be 'super' fast, but it was usable. We had good Verizon cell signal. Even though the park sits between two streets (one of them the main road coming in to town) there was very little traffic noise. We would absolutely stay there again. Our only real complaint is the price is high. I don't like paying over $30 or $35 (at the most) and $42 and some change was a little too much for this park. We camped at Kanab RV Corral in a Fifth Wheel.

Desert Eagle RV Park (Military FamCamp), Nellis AFB, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 78 days and were very pleased with the park. When we first arrived we were assigned site 180, which is in the 'new' section. The new section is tight, very tight. We didn't think that we could do 78 days in such cramped conditions so we asked to be moved to 103. Perfect! We were very comfortable and had plenty of room. There were people there that were in the new section for much longer than the 78 days we were there and I never heard a complaint from anyone about the cramped quarters. The bathrooms, laundry and showers were the cleanest I have ever seen. The staff was always friendly. They were installing the Wifi while we were there and were able to use it for the last week. It worked great - but, it will be a pay service when the installation is complete. As in most military famcamps, it is nicer than most commercial campgrounds, less expensive and safer. We enjoyed our stay at Desert Eagle and would go back. We camped at Desert Eagle RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

A Country RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

A Country RV Park is a comfortable RV park with concrete pads and gravel in between. The sites are all pull through with wide roads and long enough to accommodate a 40' MH towing a pickup truck. Its a neat, clean park with many seasonal sites towards the front (highway side) of the park and the transient sites are towards the back. The sites are a little close, but not too bad. The wifi worked fine and Verizon was a good signal. There are not big trees so getting satellite was no problem. The office personnel were very nice. My husband used the hot tub and enjoyed it very much. We would go back if we were ever in the area again. We camped at A Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Vandenberg AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Vandenberg AFB, California

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our time at Vandenberg. The park is clean and well kept. Our dealings with the camp host were very friendlyl and helpful. Our first site had an electrical problem but they put us in a different spot (in the parking lot area) and it worked out just fine. The famcamp is toward the back end of the base so there is very little traffic and very quiet. Verizon signal was ok - not real strong (our hotspot would get real slow at times). The famcamp wifi was ok. It would also slow down at times. There is a very nice BX and a huge commissary (under remodel). We got to see a launch while we were there, which was exciting. There's a couple different sections to the famcamp. There is the section that has pull throughs in a grassy area with trees. There are a couple of sections that are in parking lots (still full hook up). It all depends on your likes - we were in the parking lot and didn't mind it at all. There was a huge field behind us where we watched a coyote (every day) try to catch ground squirrels. We would go back again. We camped at Vandenberg AFB FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp San Luis Obispo RV Park (Military FamCamp), San Luis Obispo, California

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very basic park but well kept. The entire area is clean, lawns mowed, quiet and generally a very pleasant place to stay. The utilities are well located and worked well. There is lots of room between each site - lots of elbow room, no crowding. The area of San Luis Obispo is a nice place to visit and scenic. There is no wifi but cell signal (verizon) was strong. There is a family of deer that roams around the park and fun to watch. All sites are pull through and easy in/out. No complaints except wifi. We would go there again. We camped at Camp San Luis Obispo RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Monterey Pines RV Campground (Military FamCamp), Monterey, California

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This was an okay park. We would stay there again, but mostly because of the location. It's only 30 amp. During cool months that's okay but during the summer when you want to run your a/c's then it isn't okay.

There are some sites that are laid out really goofy. We were in #19 and the back right corner of our RV backed up to the awning of the RV next to us. Literally touching it, which made the RV at the corner of the site's patio instead of parallel to it. The site on the other side us backed up to us in the same way. Really weird.

The wifi was okay, in fact good, during the day. At night it slowed down but that is when everyone else is using it. The park (sites) are mostly clean. Ours had a left over door mat and pieces of plastic toy laying around. Although the park is at the end of an airport runway, the noise isn't too bad from the planes.

The location of the park, Monterey, is great. Monterey is a beautiful location and a wonderful place to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. The drive out of Monterey down the coast and to Big Sur on the Pacific Hwy is gorgeous! The cost of $36 a night is ridiculous for what you get. It should be $20 or less. We camped at Monterey Pines RV Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.
