Proud Lake Recreation Area, Milford, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We picked here because it was close to family. Nice park - a little noisy with late (after 10) night activities (People sitting around fires talking, kids riding bikes to bathrooms, etc) but not bad. Our particular site wasn't grassy and had lots of sand/dirt - but it was underneath a large shade tree. Can't have everything! The campers behind us brought an Xmas laser projector and it looked like the whole tree had fireflies in it - pretty cool. We camped at Proud Lake Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Holiday Park Campground, Traverse City, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We got extremely lucky and got one of the nicest sites in the park. The site might be the nicest we have EVER seen. It had a beautiful large gravel pull in pad with a manicured grassy strip that faced the lake. You walked up stairs to get to the shaded fire pit area (also had a tent pad up there). The rest of the park seemed really nice with playgrounds, etc. We camped at Holiday Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

If you have a lake site this is an amazing campground. We booked the site months in advance, but the people next to us were lucky enough to get their site that day. The lake sites are on the beach with beautiful sunsets. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Fanny Hooe Resort & Campground, Copper Harbor, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Copper Harbor is awesome and this is the campground to enjoy it all. The state park which is nearby is nice, but doesn't have full hookups. The campsite itself wasn't the most scenic but it was extremely convenient and extremely well maintained. They have a large building with baths and showers for tent campers and it has a gathering room with a fireplace which would have been lovely for a rainy day. We camped at Lake Fanny Hooe Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Voyageurs Sunrise Resort, Kabetogama, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The majority of this campground was beautiful. Great access to the lake and Voyageur's National Park. They have a playground, rental boats, etc. However, it seems like the majority of the park is full of long term residents who have the nice sites. They put us in a newly reclaimed site next to the road. The site was leveled with gravel which was nice, however they did not extend the gravel so when you walked out the door you had a large drop off to the ground which was very unsafe for my elderly mother. When I mentioned it to the staff it didn't seem to bother them. I would conditionally recommend this place depending on where you are located on the property. We camped at Voyageurs Sunrise Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA, Silt, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground if you are looking for something close to the interstate with full facilities. It wasn't our thing because of the interstate noise and too far away from Glenwood for a good base camp. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section), Fruita, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights. Excellent facility. Level sites with concrete pads and 50 amp service. Close to CO national monument and just off the street. I would have thought it was noisy but it wasn't at all. Bike path connects to park. Very clean and neat. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Travel Trailer.

Valley RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00

We thought this park was excellent - very spacious level site , clean cheap laundry, decent wifi, and nice location. Didn't give it higher because it's an RV park and not in the middle of nature. We camped at Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Scott State Park, Scott City, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We had read that Lake Scott was one of National Geographic 50 must see state parks. The interesting thing about it is after driving through the flat Kansas land you drive into a canyon with a beautiful spring fed lake. But I would not put it anywhere close to top 50 state parks. The sites are average. The park benches need maintenance. The trail doesn't have access at the campground. The bathrooms were dirty. It was a nice stop but just average. We camped at Scott State Park in a Travel Trailer.
