Singing Hills RV Park & Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is very close to any of the caving activities in the area. The campground was very clean and even have a pond to fish. There was open areas to walk and for children to play. The rules in the park are no bathing suits in public and no alcohol in the campground. The parking configuration of the campground doesn't lend much privacy. But there were lots of trees and grass. The Wi-Fi was satisfactory. We camped at Singing Hills RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Graceland RV Park & Campground, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is great if you plan to visit Graceland. You can literally walk across the parking lot to the Graceland shops and shuttle for the mansion. The camping spaces are very close together on asphalt pads. There are very few trees; it is basically a big parking lot. There is a propane refill station at the campground. There is also a pink limousine that will take you to a local BBQ restaurant. The food is OK but it is a noisy, dark place. We camped at Graceland RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Graceland is a definite must-see. And I'm not even a big Elvis fan. The mansion price is expensive but worth it. Don't pay for the plane and autos unless you're really into that.

The entrance to the campgrounds is kind of obscure. The driveway is easily confused with the parking lot for the Graceland shops.

Elk City / Clinton KOA, Canute, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

The facility was clean and staff was friendly. The campground is right off the freeway and there is nothing nearby worth seeing. The grass/gravel parking areas are fairly level and the hookups are in good repair. However the cable and Wi-Fi did not work. Even though we contacted the office and they said they would reboot the modem. It still did not work. The cable did not work for us nor for our neighbors. OK for a stopover while traveling. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Motorhome.

Mont Belvieu RV Resort, Baytown, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

More like a huge parking lot around a manmade lake. Very pricy for what you get, unless you plan on taking advantage of the recreation activities. We only stayed here because we needed a one night stop and this was the only place that answered the phone when I called after 6pm. Seems that many camp employees man the office on banker's hours. The staff here was very helpful to take my card info, give me the gate code and assign me a spot over the phone, as the office would be closed when we arrived. Close concrete pads with strips of grass between. Costs more for pull-throughs. We camped at Mont Belvieu RV Resort in a Motorhome.

New Orleans KOA, River Ridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA is typical to other KOAs in pricing and general services. The "shuttle" service to French Qtr was only available at 9am and 5pm. No return service offered. Staff said you have to get a cab. We used Uber both ways, cost $36. The campground also offers a rental car. There are signs posted for 5 MPH. They strictly enforce it. Our Uber driver got flagged down by staff when he drove a bit too fast. No pull-throughs and they ask that you unhook anything you pull, as they won't allow parking on the sidewalk that runs in front of all the sites. On the plus side, very quiet and secure. We camped at New Orleans KOA in a Motorhome.
