Hey Bear Campground, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

With the application form, background check, locked gates, and large deposit, we thought this would be a top place to stay. Were we ever wrong. The owner said the place was a mobile home park when they purchased it. It is now a large 3 family house at the entrance with about 10 campers behind it. Very unprofessional. Dogs barking at all hours, Loud screaming kids (even late at night), Electricity could not carry 30 amps let alone 50, Horrible black dirt on site that constantly needed cleaned off our shoes, at a cost of $600 a month plus electricity. Wow. Their Office is outside at a picnic table. It was by far the worst place that we have ever stayed at with over 30 years traveling over 35 states. Someday it might get up and running smoothly, but its got a long, long way to go. Horrible. We camped at Hey Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

South-West side of Jacksonville. Heavy traffic on two lane highway off the interstate to the campground. Gate at entrance due to high crime in the area.
