Prince William Forest RV Campground, Dumfries, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very few RV park options available close in to Washington, DC. This park is 32 miles out, one of the closest. Park staff were very friendly and accommodating. Park maximized the space available to provide pull through sites. Spaces are short, but ours was fine for our 26 ft. motorhome. Parking for tow vehicles was adjacent to RV rather than in front or behind. Site was fairly level, but had to use leveling blocks. No extra parking next to laundry room. Had to park in vacant RV site to unload laundry. Six washers and dryers available at $2 each. We camped at Prince William Forest RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA, Cartersville, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly staff, even offering free peaches and sausage that she was preparing to freeze. Then she gave me directions to get back to I20 West without getting on bad roads. The only negative was that this site was on a hill, so the site was unlevel. We had to use our ramps and blocks to level. We camped at Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA in a Motorhome.

Cross Winds Family Campground, Linwood, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Only stayed one night traveling home after extended trip. Site was gravel, level, FHU, Cable and shady in late afternoon from tall trees across drive. Check in was quick and friendly. Each site had a dedicated trash can which we've never seen at any other campground. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Motorhome.

River Country Campground, Gadsden, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This was our third time to camp overnight at Gadsden. Very nice campground with lots of amenities. Very nice pool, gated park with access by card at gate. Park is located by river and lake. We were in a pull thru site that seems to be reserved for overnighters. It took three phone calls to get someone to take our reservation, then when we arrived it could not be found. Fortunately they still had a spot open for us. We camped at River Country Campground in a Motorhome.

Branch Brook Campground, Thomaston, Connecticut

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed one night so were able to get a pull through no- frills site. Site was level. Utilities worked just fine. Any problems with electrical noted in previous review had been resolved. This park has a new owner and very conscientious park manager. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

Dutch Cousin Campground, Denver, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two nights here traveling from New Hampshire to Virginia. The campground was very quiet and serene. Someone previously described it as rustic which it appears to be, but very nicely landscaped with rocks lining the driveways and flowerbeds. Everything was neat, clean and well cared for. Most all the sites were nicely shaded, very welcome with the warm weather. The owner was quite friendly and accommodating giving us a choice of campsites. We chose a pull through gravel site that sloped, but was fairly easy to level our RV. Check in the morning following our arrival was cordial and efficient. Our site had full hookups, cable, a fire ring and picnic table. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. We camped at Dutch Cousin Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Right down the road on 272 was the Park Place Cafe with an extensive menu and very good food. Several Smorgasbords are located in the area. This park is located north of Lancaster with beautiful drives through the Amish and Mennonite farm country. Antique shopping nearby as well as furniture, quilts and crafts. Lancaster has their famous indoor Farmers Market since the 1700's open on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Littleton / Franconia Notch KOA, Littleton, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly folks at check in and led us to our site. Cable required a box which we had a hard time hooking up. Site was mostly dirt and grass with a little gravel and fairly level. We didn't have to use our levelers here. Used laundry which was clean and worked well. No problems with utility hookups. Only negative was a very busy and noisy highway adjacent to the park. A river ran alongside the park. We camped at Littleton / Franconia Notch KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Easy checkin with friendly staff. Site was gravel and fairly level. Not much shade (a couple of small trees), but we were able o use our satellite. Campground was clean and well maintained. Cable an WiFi was available. Other amenities that we did not use were a pool, driving range, BBQ and fire pit area. Easy in and out for an overnight stay. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Baileyton KOA (formerly Baileyton RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Roosevelt State Park, Morton, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park very conveniently located just off I-20, but absolutely no highway noise. We loved the peace and quiet in the woods. Located around Shadow Lake, the park offers a lot for many types of campers. Not only were there RV campsites, but tent sites, a lodge, boat ramp, fishing piers, pool and water slide, group buildings and pavilions. Two camping areas are available, the old, which we chose, and a new area with beach for lake swimming on the opposite side of the lake. The bathhouse/restroom near our site was modern and clean with one washer and dryer. Check-in was quick and easy with a very nice attendant. Our site was not quite level front to back and side to side, but was close enough that we didn't use levelers. By parking to one side of the pad we had enough room for a patio area. Our picnic table and grill were on opposite side from RV door and awning and down a slope, so we did not use. If we had camped there for more than one night, it could have been an issue. Most other campsites were not like that. Much has been said in other reviews about the roads being narrow with drop offs in some places. With a shorter RV, we had no problem on the roads, but a long motorhome or trailer/ fifth-wheel would have to carefully navigate to avoid the drop-offs. With the heavy tree cover we could not use our satellite, but 25 over-the-air channels were available. All in all we loved this park and will definitely be back when we are in the area. We camped at Roosevelt State Park in a Motorhome.

Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park, Kinder, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first time to camp at Red Shoes RV Park and we will come again if traveling through area. Came this way to avoid road construction in Lake Charles on a tip from friends. Check in staff were very friendly and helpful. Park is beautiful with lots of amenities like pools, a pretty lake, restrooms and showers though we didn't use any of those for a one night stay. Site was concrete, level, with concrete patio with a picnic table. Utilities were good. Our site was sunny for our satellite so we did not use the cable. Did not have to unhook the tow with the Casino shuttle available. Used the shuttle to the casino for a very expensive ($39 each) dinner buffet (Seafood night). Lots of good seafood, not many sides to choose from for a vegetable lover. If you like to gamble, the casino is very large. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground, Yuma, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Parkers Crossroads is the epitome of the way an RV Park should be run. This was our fourth stay and won't be the last. How do we love you, let me count the ways: Very friendly hosts, easy check in, guided us to our site. Lots of information at check-in about the park, amenities offered onsite and in the area. Far enough from interstate that it is very quiet. Very level concrete pull through, so we didn't have to unhook unless we wanted to go to our favorite Patty's Restaurant for catfish. They have pizza onsite that can be delivered to your door. LP Gas available, firewood, RV repair services. We camped at Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Motel 6 & Brinkley RV Park, Brinkley, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Due to a snow storm, Interstate 40 was shut down in the direction we were going. Instead of taking the alternate route, which fortunately someone at Kroger told us was not a good option, we chose to stay here. The overnight rate was good, had concrete drives and pull through pads that were fairly level. However, the electric hookup 50 amp, which we tried, was obviously wired incorrectly since it kept tripping. Finally just hooked up to 120. Even then it periodically went off and back on. Just enough power to run the fan on our LP gas heater on a freezing overnight. Had to run the generator to make coffee. A previous review, which I didn't read until this morning said that the ground and neutral were switched. Too bad they can't get it fixed. We will not be back. We camped at Motel 6 & Brinkley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Greenville Farm Family Campground, Haymarket, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This was our fourth time to stay at Greenville Farm. It is by far the best RV Park in the DC area, though somewhat rustic. I would say very nice for a working farm. We like the farm setting with cattle, fields, and a pond. It also feels more secure being at the back of the farm. We have made this our home away from home while visiting family in Arlington, and taking in some of the sights in DC. We have learned that the even numbered sites in the first 16 are the most level for our RV. This area is not heavily shaded, so we are able to use our DirecTV satellite. AT&T works fine here even though WIFI is not available. We use the Laundry every time and find it adequate but it could use a little more attention. Washers and dryers all work well. We camped at Greenville Farm Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington, Kentucky

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

When calling for site availability, call the camp store. Sites are first come, first serve, unless making reservations online ahead of time. We were able to register after hours by selecting our site and putting a check in envelope in the mail slot. Our site was level, so no ramps required. We picked a sunny location, so the satellite worked. Water and electric at site, dump station on the road out. This convenient location in the Horse Park is off the beaten path so it feels secure, yet not far from the interstate. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Reservations and check in after hours on Sunday went well. Our site was short, but adequate, on the side of a hill, very hard to level. Driveways were very steep with tight turns. We weren't there much, but taking in the attractions of Branson. We camped at Branson View Campground in a Motorhome.
