Just stayed overnight. Hiked to the lake and through the forest surrounding the campground. We camped at Chewacla State Park in a Motorhome.
Close to Auburn University, so try to avoid football weekends, very crowded, 2 night minimum.

Murphy / Peace Valley KOA, Marble, North Carolina
Date of Stay:
September, 2019 -
$44.00
Overall Rating:
We had a nice, shady, level back-in next to the river; full hook-up, including cable& wifi. The park was clean and quiet. Restrooms and showers were clean. We brought our kayak, but the river level was too low for paddling. Did some hiking in the nearby Nantahala National Forest. It was early September and very hot during the afternoon, but the nights were pleasant. I would return to this park. We camped at Murphy / Peace Valley KOA in a Motorhome.
Lots of hiking nearby, casino nearby

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas
Date of Stay:
May, 2019 -
$37.00
Overall Rating:
We spent the night here on the way to Big Bend Nat'l Park. The site was level, pull-thru, with wi-fi and cable TV. The campground is right on the river, with mostly shaded sites (I would recommend site 50, if available, a nice shade tree). Staff was friendly and helpful. Get a shaded site if you are there in the warmer months. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rio Grande Village RV Campground--Full Hookups , Big Bend National Park, Texas
Date of Stay:
May, 2019 -
$37.00
Overall Rating:
We stayed here at the end of April 2019, in a 30' Class C. The site was very nice, but not much shade. It gets REALLY hot in the afternoon. The hook-ups were easy to access, power was good, and the water was cold. All the sites are back-in. Wi-fi was spotty, as was phone service. We had to drive 20 miles back to Panther Junction to get phone service. Easy access to Boquillas del Carmen, Mexico, with good food and cold margaritas. Good place to see "miles and miles of Texas" and good stargazing at night. We had to leave early, due to a family emergency back home, and the staff was very helpful, offered the use of their landline. We would definitely return. Plan to go in the early spring (but avoid spring break, very crowded) or late fall. This place gets very hot in the summer. It is the Texas desert, after all! We camped at Rio Grande Village RV Campground--Full Hookups in a Motorhome.

Staff and facilities were excellent! We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.
We were there for the leaves, and they were spectacular!
So was the weather at the end of September.
If you have the chance, do not miss the Ceilidh (kalee)!
