DeSoto State Park, Fort Payne, Alabama

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is wooded with trees or scrubs between sites. Some of the sites are not as level as others. The water was good quality. Overall the campground was quiet. Very well maintained park. We would stay here again. DeSoto State Park is a very pretty destination. We camped at DeSoto State Park in a Motorhome.

Visited DeSoto Falls and Little River Falls. Low water levels - so falls not as spectacular as they would be earlier in spring. Mentone has cute shops and restaurants.

Kyllonen's RV Park, Anchor Point, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 7 days in Anchor Point at this very pleasant, small RV park overlooking a meadow where moose may be spotted. Across the inlet there is a view of the volcano. The park was fairly quiet with some road noise with cars going to the nearby beach. The water pressure was low so we filled our tank to have better pressure. There is no reception for satellite TV. The trees are quite tall and would have interfered if it was available. Pay attention to directions to approach park in order to avoid a low height bridge on the route that our mapping program would have sent us on. The park is close enough to Homer to enjoy the activities available there without the hustle and bustle found on the Spit. We would stay here again. We camped at Kyllonen's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Klondike RV Park & Cabins, Soldotna, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed a week at Klondike in a 40 foot motorhome. Site was quite adequate with large grass areas between sites. We used our own WIFI due to high volume of people trying to use the camp's WIFI. Park is off main road and quiet. Staff was very responsive to complaint of barking dog. We would stay here again. We camped at Klondike RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Big Bear Campground & RV Park, Palmer, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 nights with a 40 foot Motorhome. Gravel site long enough for disconnected car and coach with adequate space between sites. Used our own WIFI due to number of users on their WIFI which made it too slow. Good power and water supplies. Some road noise from freeway. Our mapping program did not send us with correct freeway exit. Recommend using the instructions sent with email confirmation. Nice park. Would stay here again. We camped at Big Bear Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Toad River Lodge & RV Park, Toad River, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Our back-in site along the edge of the lake was spacious with trees between the sites. The pull-through sites in the middle of the park have no trees and are closer together. Loved watching the moose and beaver in the lake every day. The park was very quiet. The water is hard but tasted good. The 30 amp power was unstable with low voltage - our surge protector cut off our appliances at times. The staff was very friendly. We stayed 2 nights in our 40 foot motorhome. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Triple G Hideaway, Fort Nelson, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was a long pull through in the back away from the traffic noise of the highway but did not have the tree coverage that the front part of the park had. Good meal at their restaurant. Park only has 30 amp service but it was stable. Good water. WiFi was good. We stayed here 2 nights in our 40 foot coach with tow car. We camped at Triple G Hideaway in a Motorhome.

Northern Lights RV Park, Dawson Creek, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Large gravel park on top of hill overlooking town next to highway with good water and 50 amp. Not much ambiance - no trees or foliage between sites. We stayed 4 nights to explore the area and were comfortable here in our 40 foot coach. Some noise from trucks on the highway. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to see in the area. Local museum had interesting film on the Alaska Highway. Visited Tumbler Ridge - could have spent several days here! Visited Chetwynd to see the chainsaw carvings around town. Would have spent time in Hudson Hope and at dam if we had had more time.

MamaYeh RV Park, Prince George, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The RV park is basic with no facilities other than Port-a-Potties but has long enough pull throughs for our 40 foot coach and tow car. Between sites are wide sections of trees and brush for more private spaces. The water is very hard and does not taste good; therefore, we relied totally on the water in our fresh water tank. The staff was helpful and the very friendly owner visited the coach. WiFi was spotty even with our own Hotspot. The mosquitoes are pretty bad is this region of Canada. Bring your bug spray. We camped at MamaYeh RV Park in a Motorhome.

Well established park with tall hedges between sites for privacy. A number of sites are occupied by long term or permanent residents. Very friendly residents offered help. Site was fairly level. Cell phone service and WiFi were limited. Nice looking clubhouse with pool and basketball court. We camped at Camp Bridal in a Motorhome.

Bellingham RV Park, Bellingham, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Older RV park with many long term or permanent residents. Near airport but with very little noise disruption. Some highway and train noise. Very friendly staff. Park has recycling center. Reservation was mistakenly made for a 33 foot motorhome instead of 40 foot - assigned a shorter site; however, coach and tow car able to fit. We stayed here for a couple of days to resupply coach before entering Canada. - should have allowed a couple of days to explore area. We camped at Bellingham RV Park in a Motorhome.

Salt Creek Recreation Area, Port Angeles, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

RV sites are part of a larger camping park along the northern coast. Some RV sites have direct view of Strait of Juan de Fuca. Some sites are in a forested section. Quiet family camping near Fort Angeles and northern Olympic National Park attractions. The Salt Creek Recreation Area is a destination within itself with its military history and coastal and beach access at low tide. No sewer service at any sites but it does have a dumping station. Very friendly and helpful ranger and park hosts. Clean, well maintained camping and day use park. We stayed here in a 40 foot motorhome. Would definitely stay here again. Mounthaven Resort, Ashford, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

If you like camping in the forest, this is the park for you! The trees towered over our coach. The picnic tables were nestled near the forest undergrowth. Due to the trees we did not set up our weather station nor satellite TV. Cell phone service is touch and go in the area at no fault of the park. Very quiet! Helpful staff. The GPS coordinates on our mapping system did not place the park in the right spot. After passing the Alexander Lodge (blue building from 1912), you will soon see the sign for the RV park 0n the right. Entrance was narrow but doable for our coach. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Mounthaven Resort in a Motorhome.
