Crystal Cove Resort and RV Park, Tofino, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

This is well groomed and landscaped, paved with small private sites. Easy to use with truck and camper or smaller trailer. Staff are friendly and Starbucks coffee free till 1:30. Free firewood but heavy and not dried. Romantic beach and cove with beautiful sunsets when clear. Wifi signal not the best and kicks off after thirty minutes. Cabins also available on site but check the prices. Laundry and shower facilities are fine, very clean but no benches in showers. This is really the best of campgrounds if you prefer the upscale places. Gates close at 11:00 pm and don't open till 7:00 am so you have to drive over those one way spike things if you are early departure types. Will definitely stay here again. Reservations definitely recommended. We camped at Crystal Cove Resort and RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Watch for the speed bumps they have installed there is no speed you can go over safely they bounced us pretty good at an idle. They will still serve the purpose if you shave em down a touch. Rent a bike for the nice ride into Tofino, about 3 kliks.

MamaYeh RV Park, Prince George, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a basic no-frills park. You first notice the "office" is a pop up cover with plastic table and camp chairs; self-register there. The sites are roomy with back-ins along one road and large pull-throughs along another. The owner will visit eventually as he lives nearby; he is enthusiastic and helpful. This was a perfect stop for an overnight the campground well graveled and full of wildflowers and songbirds. No showers or restrooms just the porta-potties but we went self contained and had no need. Trash collected every night at eight. We loved the size and layout of the park, sites were spacious. Will always return when passing this way. As others have said this is a work in progress. Loved it. We camped at MamaYeh RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

The water was high in iron content and slightly coloured, but tested regularly and safe potable water. We hooked up while there but I wouldn't fill my tanks.

Hope Valley Campground, Hope, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is a tired old place. Staff was not helpful, "lost" our online reservation even though we had printed copies of confirmation. Offered no apologies, directed us to different full service site by the office and washrooms, no choice offered. Hwy noise and train tracks right across the road. This is a poorly laid out park with many large trees cut down and left lying. We have camped all across Canada and this is the only negative review we felt compelled to leave. Won't be returning. We camped at Hope Valley Campground in a Truck Camper.
