Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here during the Labor Day week, and it wasn't too busy. Our site was level, and right across from the main entrance, showers and rest rooms. Because we were close, our wifi worked great. We didn't find it a problem at all being 6 miles from Yellowstone entrance. We'd leave our site around 7:30 am and saw elk and buffalo every morning inside the west entrance. My biggest complaint would be the pool / hot tub building. There's a trip hazard (I experienced it personally!) in the building and I reported it to the front desk. I didn't expect an immediate fix, but the next day there wasn't even a "caution" sign by the hazard. AND, the hot tub didn't look too inviting. I would still stay there again. We camped at Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Country Cabins and RV Park (formerly Kountry Kamping & Kabins), Mobridge, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We had a site on the edge of the park, next to a ranch. Our site was level and had nice shade. It was very hot when we arrived, so it was nice to set up our chairs in the shade and listen to the peacocks! There were several seasonal workers staying there and they were very friendly. The sunset on the Missouri River was SPECTACULAR..from our campsite. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Country Cabins and RV Park (formerly Kountry Kamping & Kabins) in a Travel Trailer.

Big Sky Camp and RV Park, Miles City, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is conveniently located off the highway, but we couldn't hear traffic noise. The sites are merely gravel with little shade, and they're very close together. I could have shook hands with our neighbor thru our kitchen window! The pool was closed when we were there, so I can't comment. It was very hot and windy when were there, so running the air conditioner was a must. But, for $22 with water, electric and cable, we'd stay there for a single night again. We camped at Big Sky Camp and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Flandrau State Park, New Ulm, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped for one night on our way west. We were able to stay hooked up, as our site was pretty level. The campsites are roomy, but not very private. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The dump station is quite "rustic" and gets muddy after a rain. We camped at Flandrau State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Prairie Flower Recreation Area COE, Johnston, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

This is a VERY clean, well-kept park. Our grandkids had fun in the playground area AND it was conveniently close to the very clean restrooms. It was quite hot when we were there, so the grandkids had squirt guns, which they could refill at one of the numerous spigots around the park. Our gravel site was level and not too close to the neighbors. We camped at Prairie Flower Recreation Area COE in a Travel Trailer.
