Trailside Park Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This park has a very good location in Hill City, You can walk to gas, Hike and Bike Trail, Train Museum. Grocery is about a mile away. Spots were level with gravel roads and pads, had picnic table and fire ring. Quiet at night. Good playground for kids, Basketball court. Some spots are close together, others are not. Small brook runs through the park. Staff was pleasant and helpful, Restrooms were exceptional clean while we were there but not many people were using them. Location is convenient for Rushmore, Custer State Park, Lead, Deadwood, Rapid City, Spearfish canyon, Needles hiway. All can be experienced as day or half day trips. Good restaurant in town at the old hotel. Local grocery is not big but has all the essentials covered. We camped at Trailside Park Resort in a Travel Trailer.

A little bit hard to find. Be careful and follow signs. When leaving, go back the way you came in from Ft Payne, otherwise you will be on narrow country lanes for a while. We camped at DeSoto State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lincoln Parish Park, Ruston, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground, all interior look afs paved. Sites are asphalt or concrete. Mostly backins. I had site 7, a pull through. It is not level but we made it work by putting the trailer wheels at the top and a couple if boards ubder the right side. Nice paved walking paths around the lake. Campsite area was well cut so no bugs. 50 A full hookup. No cable but OTA reception was good. Well away from major hiways, railroads and airports so very quiet. Campsites are heavily wooded. Playground for kids and swim beach across lake from campground, a 5 min walk. Can rent kayaks to use on the lake. We camped at Lincoln Parish Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bayfield Riverside RV Park, Bayfield, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Flowers everywhere, great place to stay about halfway between Pagosa Springs and Durango. Pull through and back-in sites available, all interior roads are gravel some sites might be difficult for big rigs to get into but site staff will assign spaces based on vehicle length. Catch and release ponds, alpaca, grassy areas. No pool, no campfires, but quiet campground. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

J.B.'s RV Park & Campground, Benton, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Good overnight spot. Pull through spaces were very long and lots of room between sites. Utilities a little far from the camper, we needed to use our 50 ft long water hose. Not all pull throughs have sewer, some are W & E only. Dump station is a little tricky to pull through but worked fine. This RV park is a perfect one day drive from Austin, Nashville, or Saint Louis. Location is near freeway but not a lot of freeway noise. Reasonably close to Hot Springs, About 40 Miles from Little Rock. Stocked fishing lake. TV reception is OK with antenna. We camped at J.B.'s RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park), Mount Vernon, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great for overnight stay. Convenient to interstate, right at exit 95. Flying J and Pilot at this exit. Small playground for kids, basketball court. No working cable but good tv reception from antenna. Sites are about 12 to 14 ft apart. Half of sites are big rig pullthroughs, other half are back ins for smaller rigs or those who will detach a tow vehicle. My 30 ft travel trailer fit in pull through attached to tow vehicle with room to spare. No picnic table at my site. We camped at Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Shelby / Mansfield KOA, Shelby, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Resort campground In the middle of nowhere. Do not use Gps to get there, follow the campground directions. About 8 miles west of Shelby. We stayed while attending races at Mid Ohio. 35 min drive to track. Only problem we had was one leg of our 50 amp circuit was not working correctly so we had to use the 30 amp circuit. Back in sites were close together and ours was hard to get into because of nearby trees. Gravel spots can develop puddles during rain, be careful where you put your door. We had to back our 30 footer in past the site gravel to get our rig to fit. They had lots of activities for kids and adults and a very well stocked camp store. We camped at Shelby / Mansfield KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Long site, friendly staff offering good service. Site was a little hilly but easy to get level with tongue jack. Good wifi. Hook ups were spread out so may have to use longer water hose or sewer hose depending on your rig. Lots of shade. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Mark Twain Cave Campground, Hannibal, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Close to Hannibal, walk to Mark Twain cave and winery. Fun Center across the street. Spaces are close together, has both pull through and back in spaces. My pull through was just long enough for my 30 foot trailer and truck without us hitching. Gravel Roads are tight for long motor homes pulling cars or trailers. Gravel site required a couple of boards to get level. We camped at Mark Twain Cave Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Speed limit in Hannibal is enforced. Police wait for you to come rolling down the hill into town a little too fast. Be careful! Plenty of RV parking available along the riverfront. Try The Brick Oven restaurant on Center street.

Shore Hills Campground and RV Park, Boothbay, Maine

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Camped in site 114 in the open field. It was a pull through site within 1.5 in of being level side to side. It had full hookups including cable and wifi. Wifi was easy to connect and reasonably fast. Lots of cable channels inclung all major networks.

Sit had an above ground patio with picnic table. Could walk right out of trailer to patio.

Has laundromat and 2$ shuttle to downtown. Grocery shopping and drugstore within 5 miles. A little farther to harbor. They are cash only so bring lots. Pet friendly. We camped at Shore Hills Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Caesar Creek State Park, Waynesville, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Close to Interstate 71. Campsites have a very narrow and short 40 foot paved parking area. If your trailer is over 30 feet, you will have to unhook and park your tow vehicle elsewhere. Electric hookup is 30 amp service. Utilities located at end of site. No water hookups. Sites are mostly flat, ours required no leveling. Lots of space between sites, plenty of grass and a few trees. Staff at check in are friendly, but not Rangers and they are not knowledgeable about RV's and camping. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.
