Village Creek State Park, Wynne, Arkansas

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We were in 46 which was a back in site. We were there 4 nights and in December you are pretty much alone there. Occasionally another camper there for one night. It's very well lit. 46 is by the bathrooms there were not locked for the winter, by the playground and swimming area. There is some drive through traffic and some fishermen. We have Verizon and we had mostly one bar sometimes two but until we were at the visitor center we always had a little service. We also had a few TV channels by antenna. Had the major stations, had to turn the antenna and re-scan frequently. Lots of deer so drive carefully. The park is very scattered out. From where we were it took about 1o minutes to get out of the park. We are from the area and knew we could take the Hwy 1 bypass to Colt then 306 (I believe) to the park turn off, less curvy, much better route. It's very quiet (again it was December, two weeks before Christmas). I wouldn't camp in that spot in warm weather, we don't have small kids so the playground being right there might be a bit much. Most campsites in the B loop have lake views. Lots of dumpsters in the lower campground, just cans in the B loop. We camped at Village Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Eat @ Mike's in Colt - steak or catfish It's the Delta - in late spring, summer & fall mosquitoes will be one of large challenge. Visitor Center @ the park is ok but the one @ Mississippi River State park is very nice, new- nice park to check out & within less than an hour from Village Creek. Plenty raccoons at Village Creek, don't leave any food out.

Table Rock Lake State Park, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 4 nights, loved the park. Waterside in our area were basic so that's kind of a letdown. Full hookups are in the interior. Although the sites are not crammed together they are close enough. Our neighbors would come in late, then build a fire and talk so loudly I could hear them as if I was with them & that was after 10pm. Also people need to learn that slamming camper doors echo everywhere. When you go in&out 100 times you will irritate your neighbor. Please be aware. We seem to be tired at night & turn in rather early, if 10 is early so please be kind. This park has lots of walking trails. Can walk from campground to visitor center on concrete/asphalt. People do let their kids ride bikes without supervision so be careful of the kid on a bike. We camped Thanksgiving and received a free night pass good for a year for any MO state park. That was a nice surprise. Water pressure wasn't the best but wasn't a problem for us. Not many channels pick up through antennae. Some guy left his barking dogs all day in a pop up close by, not good. Again, respect your fellow campers. The picnic table was wooden and well well worn. Had to keep a thick table cloth over that area to prevent huge splinters. They are trying to grow more interior trees it appears. Very clean park. We camped at Table Rock Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We drove through the Shepherd of the Hills Trail of Lights, very nice, worth the money. Was misty rain so was nice to be in truck. Take bikes, trails are very nice to ride - paved. Visit the visitor center at the dam, very nice, informative movie (no popcorn though-ha) Tried to walk the orange trail;was protected for hunting, supposedly has waterfalls. Trails are not marked that great. Campground was surprisingly busy for Thanksgiving. Cheaper than Arkansas State Park rates.

Springhill COE, Barling, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

On the day we arrived we had friends get here first to someone setting up in their reserved site. No reserved signs were put on either of our sites. We had a tent camper in our site. He had packed up to leave when we arrived. The site has a nice creek view. The mosquitoes were bad, the grass was high and weedy. The pad is asphalt with gravel patio. Partial shade. It was real quiet on Thursday pretty quiet on Friday. Then on Saturday and we were in A loop lots of folks come to bank fish and one had his German Shepherd roaming no leash and was nose to nose with our little dog properly on a chain at our site. One close camper had some kind of large dinner with tons of cars parked which I thought was unsafe for the kids on bikes. There is only one dump station. Our site had water and electricity. Nice to have water but still have to be conservative without the full hook up. Nowhere for it to go. Fishing here was pretty nonexistent. It was one hot October weekend. Bank fisherman don't bother to take their trash with them. Saw trash bag thrown on ground at the pavilion. There was no host Thursday when we arrived, glad our tent camper problem had been dealt with by our friend before we got here. There was no help to be found. We called the phone number, got answering machine. We camped at Springhill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Bobcat Creek RV Park, LLC, Sayre, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Long gravel pull through - accommodated our truck, 5th wheel plus 16 ft trailer (65 feet). Wooden picnic table. Mailbox Advertises free wifi but I never could get it to connect. Was busy there. Manager/owner , met us upon arrival and guided us to our sites. Antennae finds 4 channels (not good ones either), direct tv satellite worked well. sites are close to each other, pull-thrus are. Nice gathering area, close to I-40. Fine for one night stopover. Got plenty of OK red clay in the camper. Dog waste bags provided. Playground. Alright for a one night stopover. We camped at Bobcat Creek RV Park, LLC in a Fifth Wheel.

Peacock Meadows Riverside RV Park, South Fork, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Our 7th night was free so when I divide it by 6 it came to $47.26 a night including electric which you pay after you leave and they read the meter. There are a couple of things we were told on the phone which didn't really pan out for us. We wanted to stay where we could get on ATV trails without trailering. When we got there supposedly half the town can and we weren't in that half. We could ride out to one trail, but we got lost with their awful trail maps, ended up in town & did get stopped. We trailered the rest of the week. We were told the electric would be $5 - $15 dollars, our was, our friends were higher & we ran very little ac. The site otherwise was great, great backdrop. It's not real large & the trees don't provide shade until late in day. Police patrol. Manager tries to keep the bears at bay. The wifi was sketchy. Antenna picked up 0 channels, but direct TV satellite worked great. Very dusty there, it has been so dry in Co. We had rain one night. The park was very quiet until the morning we were leaving. Rude camper across from us ran his noisy truck before 6:30 in am as he was packing up to leave, left it running for at least 30 minutes, loud. Wasn't cold so no clue why it had to warm up. Office staff is great. There isn't much to Southfork so you need to go to ride trails or ski. Creede is great to visit. There is a dog park, fenced, but our dog wouldn't use it, he thinks he's not a dog. The river is a very short walk away. Husband did catch (and release) trout. Never saw a fish in the pond. Park is right off hwy but I couldn't really hear road noise. If you ride an ATV out of this park, do it at your own risk. And go left not right. Our pull through was gravel, was great for truck, 5th wheel, + 16 ft trailer. I would stay there again. Our campers were a bit close together but we were traveling with friends so it was OK. Most all campers are exposed to the full sun most of the day. Saloon was never open so no comment there. We camped at Peacock Meadows Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Corral RV Park, Dalhart, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Cons: lack of shade, not close to anything else really but this was an overnight stay. Train nearby (didnt bother us) Pros: easy in, easy out and we were towing 65 ft, truck, fifth wheel plus trailer with side by side. Site is gravel, no grass, no picnic table, no fire pit - no problem it was hot. Pull through long enough for all we had without unhooking. Supposed to get 4 cable channels, we could not. Did get 8 channels with antennae once the hubby found the signal. Dumpsters handy. Playground for kids. Was quiet. Fine for a stopover. We camped at Corral RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Dam Site River Campground COE, Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Loved the site #48. These are 30 amp no water. Great view. Gravel drive & pad. Plenty of room for truck, trailer and boat. Fire rings but there was a burn ban this weekend. Boat launch is not too far away. Nice river view. Shower house is old and dated, have to keep pressing button to get some water out. Corp park. Park ranger comes around he said to make sure everyone is safe and having a good time. Nice shady park. Easy in and out. Quiet and peaceful. The con is no water, but for a weekend that's doable. Even can find about 6 tv channels, most local. I still find it amazing how trashy people are, I picked up after some folks. However, a raccoon got in our zipped up trash so I'm sure someone had to clean up what I couldn't find. Careful leaving anything out there. Nice little park, will go back. We camped at Dam Site River Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Blue Heron Campground & Resort, Flippin, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Heads up.... I'm one honest reviewer. I believe in them & try to write them honestly. We had a river side site, would be nice if it were actually river side & not have tent camping in between. Read reviews that said "very pet friendly". I don't think that. Dog can't go near river, there is a pet area, not mowed, whole park was not mowed for Memorial Day weekend. We did have a full hook up site, not all are. Really loud area to camp, right by White River bridge heavily traveled day & night. Some sites are rather close to each other. No boat launch, have to travel to Cotter. He's working on it I believe. No fire pit at our site, but it was HOT anyway. Drive was long enough for 5th wheel, boat, truck. Aluminum picnic table at campsite, nice wooden ones at tent sites. Dump site was right in front of our campsite. I thought a strange place for dump site, in front of full hookup site. Didn't get any awful aroma, but campers do line up there to dump. Pretty little campground, not peaceful place though. Not real pet friendly. Heard vehicles hitting the metal plate on the bridge all night long. We camped at Blue Heron Campground & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Dardanelle State Park, Russellville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in Loop A site 4. It was close to the lake, just steps down. Adequate space between campers. Not too much through traffic. Quiet at night. Gnats were getting annoying. Picnic table and fire pit were in what I consider the right places for this site. Pad was plenty long for 5th wheel and truck. Rangers drive through enough. Trash bins readily available. TV Antenna reception was not good, think we got 4 channels. State parks charge enough for their sites they could provide free wifi. We camped at Lake Dardanelle State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Aux Arc COE , Ozark, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

In June you need to stay in shady spot not necessarily on the water. The gnats and geese are awful. The geese poop is everywhere. Got a few TV stations with antennae which you need when gnats finally run you in. They have multiple speed bumps which help because there are lots of cars and trucks driving through. The train didn't wake me night one but did night two. Otherwise quiet enough. In section F which in nonreservable you will hear the dam roar but in section B there are more screaming kids because of playground. Overall it wasn't noisy. The only thing for adults is of course fishing. We bank fished and due to large chunk rocks lost a ton of hooks/weights. Caught one fish. I would recommend this as a fall/spring place. Office lady is super nice. We camped at Aux Arc COE in a Travel Trailer.

Town-Beaver RV Park & Campground, Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The 25 dollar rate was for electricity and water. It's very sandy there. We were right on the water. Fishing was awful from bank. Water was murky. Dog friendly park and people did not obey leash rule or clean up after. Was supposed to be one night of fireworks, was more and drove dogs nuts. Has experienced some flooding so some sites have strange set ups like picnic table and grill on wrong side of camper. Some sites the power went off daily. Shady areas. Rained a lot when we were there and our site by the water got quite flooded. Owner and others work hard. Was easy enough to get 34' trailer in. Doubt we go back. Flies were awful. Has swimming area. Nice place for kids. We camped at Town-Beaver RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.
