Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA, Las Vegas, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Begrudging service. Almost all sites are elevated with a sufficient incline to make it difficult for a tow vehicle. Water pressure very low. Deluxe sites are a joke with a trellis fence, very small picnic table and very small swing too close to the trellis to actually use. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Elephant Butte State Park, Lower Ridge Road Campground, Elephant Butte, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

One of several campgrounds within the state park. Consists of 3 back-in sites with nice ramada over picnic table, fire pit and grill. All sites are back-in and wide enough for trailer and car to be beside each other but not connected. Water on the "wrong side" of trailer but electric is correct. Drought has caused the lake to be so low that the campground is way above the water line but map shows as if right off the beach. With the lake so low they are allowing you to Boondock right on the beach. We camped at Elephant Butte State Park, Lower Ridge Road Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Goodland KOA, Goodland, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Great wi-fi. Not particularly aesthetically pleasing but very functional. This is the second year I have stayed here over night and I could certainly see improvements made from the previous year including cement pads for some of the picnic tables and an effort to work on the landscaping. K9 park not useful due to lots of brambles, mowed weeds and dirt. We camped at Goodland KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Glen Elder State Park, Glen Elder, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Never saw a park ranger, or found any registration information, including expected time of check-out. "Pull-thru" sites are actually two sites sharing the same driveway so if the even numbered site occupant arrives first, they can simply pull thru but must be conscious of providing enough space for the second occupant who will be required to back in and feed their utilities under their RV. We camped at Glen Elder State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Unlike most state parks, allow extended stays for months and they seem to be the best sites in the park. Be sure to get the even numbered pull-thru sites and arrive early.

St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA, Eureka, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff, greet you with a warm chocolate chip cookie, great wi-fi and level site. Looks like I had the worst site in the park though. Site was very close to the road, no shade trees, and a bright street light outside the office shined into my trailer all night. Still having electrical issues a year later (I stayed here last year) and they have had to close some of the shadier sites due to an inability to run electricity for all sites. If I hadn't used my rewards points I would have been very upset. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Clinton / Knoxville North KOA, Clinton, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Only one public shower. Friendly staff. Very well maintained but really small by KOA standards so too many sites in too small a space. Separate areas for Full-timers and just-visiting. Would have given a 10 if sites hadn't been so cramped. We camped at Clinton / Knoxville North KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Pine Ridge Campground, Roebuck, South Carolina

Bath house was not air conditioned. Was shown to our site by an employee even when we arrived at 9pm. Small pond for catch/release fishing with a paddle boat. Grassy area for pets but not enclosed. We camped at Pine Ridge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Flamingo Campground (NPS Campground), Homestead, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Knowing that it was the "off season", I still expected better facilities. Electric hook-up only--first state or national park that hasn't had water hook-up as well. Bathrooms were sweltering, with no water pressure. Grass was unmowed, and never saw a ranger or park staff member. Some sites had picnic tables but ours did not. Not worth the 38 mile drive once you enter the park in the summer. We camped at Flamingo Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Falling Waters State Park, Chipley, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very small campground with RV sites sharing driveways, and thus making it difficult for everyone to fit into their own spot. Very small turn around making it difficult for Class A vehicles to navigate. Trails not maintained and not well marked, and with no maps provided I had no idea how long or strenuous each trail might be. Dump station is practically on the side of the road, making it difficult to navigate around big RV's using it. Never saw a park employee or ranger. We camped at Falling Waters State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Okatoma Resort & RV Park, Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

About five miles out of the way, but the drive is worth it for the beautiful lake nestled among the trees that allows fishing and swimming. Sites are not well-maintained but certainly adequate. Huge dog park, and new washers and dryers in laundry room. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Jacksonville North / St. Marys KOA, Kingsland, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

If my site had been level I would have given the park a 10 rating. Very friendly and helpful staff, lots of amenities: long office hours, an escort to your site even after the office has closed, free breakfast on weekends, great pool, mini golf, two laundry rooms, lunch and dinner delivery to your campsite from little cafe and fantastic wi-fi that allows you even to stream. We camped at Jacksonville North / St. Marys KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Shreveport / Bossier City KOA, Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

When I pulled in I thought all of the sites were Deluxe sites with their wrought-iron tables, concrete pads and manicured lawns. Turns out those are the "standard" sites. Great dog park with agility objects, separated into two parts for small and large dogs. Friendly staff. Great Wi-Fi! We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Weatherford / Fort Worth West KOA, Weatherford, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are very close together and rocky (almost twisted an ankle)! No one seemed to have a level site. Pull thru sites are so short either had to disconnect vehicle or let part of vehicle/camper protrude into street. No wi-fi network despite a provided password (tried for 3 hours). Looked like a little privately-owned park with no money or staff. We camped at Weatherford / Fort Worth West KOA in a Travel Trailer.
