Sanlan RV & Golf Resort, Lakeland, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for 1 month in a Class A, 45' motorhome with tow. 500 sites total. RV sites are mostly grouped together and separate from the areas where there are park models. Sites are mostly roomy for larger rigs. Some pull-throughs & many back in sites. Some have concrete pad, some grass with concrete patio. Sewer connection may be at front or back end of site. You may need additional sewer hose to reach connection. Roads can be narrow in spots...just move slowly. Some sites have large trees/shade and some are completely open. If satellite is used, be sure to ask. Gated entry and exit, Large pool area, pickle ball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, clean laundry, clean restrooms. There is a large nature area & lake with walking path about 2 miles long. Golf range & course are adjacent to the park. A food truck onsite opens mostly Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun. Short drive to Sams, Publix, shopping, restaurants, downtown Lakeland or downtown Bartow. Would stay again if in the Lakeland area. We camped at Sanlan RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

We visited Thornton Creek in early February in our 45', Class A motorhome. Lovely setting, quiet, very nice hosts, beautiful grounds, pool and clubhouse. If you are interested in a RV community with casitas, plan to visit Thornton Creek. Golf next door, Punta Gorda just 13 miles away. We would visit again!! Lazydays RV Campground, Seffner, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at LD campground 2 years in a row b/c it is convenient to visiting Tampa family & friends. All sites are back in with a patio table & full hook ups. Several perimeter sites will accommodate our 45', Class A Entegra, however the site will only fit the RV. The tow has to be parked along side or in front of the motorhome. This makes for tight street traffic in some spots after sunset when most people return to the campground. During our 6 weeks, the staff was always friendly. Wifi is pretty good, not great. $2wash/$2dry at the Laundry. There are many rally groups in and out of the campground & Clubhouse, so sometimes the park is completely full. A RV wash service cruises through the campground daily & they are reasonable. The screened pool & spa are nice. The onsite restaurant, Exit 10, has reduced its hours and days. Nearby are 2 trucks stops, Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans and Lazy Days RV Superstore for service, sales, and accessories. Sites near the front of the campground get more highway noise than those sites toward the back of the campground. We camped at Lazydays RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The closest Walmart (in Seffner) is not all that nice, not a SuperCenter. The Publix grocery in the same plaza is pretty nice. You will have to go into Brandon for shopping & services, Costco, Sams, Walmart Supercenter, Home Depot, Target, and tons of restaurants. We highly recommend Roux on Macdill in south Tampa. Call for reservations. Wonderful Cajun food, oysters $1/ea for brunch. Excellent shrimp & grits, etc.

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, good location, quiet. Big rig friendly, we camped in our Class A, 45' Entegra motorhome with no problem. Some lovely sites near the river, level, concrete pads, clean restrooms, easy to navigate and large turnaround areas. Full hook ups. About 10-12 min into town. Activities for kids/teens are plentiful, large open air pavilion also. Will stay again when in the area. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

Reunion Lake RV Resort, Ponchatoula, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig friendly, Stayed 2 nights in our 45' Class A motorhome. Easy to navigate, gated, clean laundry, pool, fire ring, patio. Did not take advantage of the lazy river or pool since the weather was cool. Easy on/off I12, but the bridge was under construction & left in horrible condition (even for temporary use)! Would stay here again. We camped at Reunion Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA , Montgomery, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one nite. Big rig friendly. Back in site on the pond was nice and quiet for our 45' Class A motorhome with tow. Friendly staff. Said there were only a few spaces around the lake, but there were actually several spaces for an overnight. ?? Will return as friends are in the area. Walk the Pull thru spaces east of the pond as some are not all that level. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Motorhome.

Follow the River RV Resort, Florence, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Big Rig Friendly! Stayed in our class A, 45' motorhome with tow. Plenty of space, easy to navigate, pretty level concrete pads, full hook ups, picnic table, fire ring. Many sites back up to a large pond. Pool was closed for the season. It rained the 2 days we visited, so we did not explore the area all that much. Staff helpful. Office hours seem a little limited. Nice clubhouse. Casino nearby and a shuttle will pick up. Would definitely return when in the area. We camped at Follow the River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Camp Turkeyville RV Resort, Marshall, Michigan

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with a country feel. Big Rig friendly! Plenty of room & wide streets for our 45' Class A motorhome. Sites #55-#65 have too much slope for a large RV. Our back-in site 68 was fine for leveling. Bathrooms were spotless. Gravel roads/sites. No satellite issues. Many sites have a concrete patio & fire ring. No problems with full hook ups. Friendly staff. Pool had just closed for the season when we arrived Oct 1. Would have given a higher rating if roads were paved. Since it recently rained before arrived and during our visit, dust was not an issue. We camped at Camp Turkeyville RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Shipshewana Campground - South Park, Shipshewana, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in our Class A, 45' Entegra. Roads are easy to navigate & sites are plenty long for big rigs and tow vehicles. Pavilions for group. Restrooms clean, staff friendly, full hook ups, 30 and 50amp sites plus tent sites. Would have rated higher if roads were paved and/or sites were paved. Rain keeps the dust down. Most sites have 'some' shade, but few sites have any obstruction to satellite. Verizon pretty good. Great park to see the area, flea market, Amish attractions and visit the RV manufacturers. Would stay here again. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

Sparrow Pond Family Campground, Waterford, Pennsylvania

Overall Rating:

Second time to visit Sparrow Pond in our 45', Class A motorhome w/tow. Quiet, gated park. We camped in Joey Circle which has no satellite obstructions. Site is crushed road pavement which is not that smooth, but other sites have smoother gravel. Full hook ups, picnic table. Park has a large pool, game room, fishing pond, large pavilions & activities. 6miles to Hwy 90. About 7-8 miles to Walmart, groceries, restaurants, etc. Roads are easy to navigate in this front area. My Brother's Place Campground, Houlton, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Our second time to this park, before going into Canada, and returning from Canada after 1 month. Park-like setting, playground, clean camp restrooms.Large pull thrus with plenty of room for big rigs (45') and tow vehicles, full hook ups, picnic tables and fire rings. We would return when in the area. Paved roads, grass sites, mostly level, no dust! Highway 1 noise can be heard if you are in a tent or a light camper. The highway is generally quiet during the night. Ask owners for restaurant recommendations. We camped at My Brother's Place Campground in a Motorhome.

Bras D'Or Lakes Campground, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We used Bras D'Or Lakes as a base for 1 week to explore the Cape Breton area & Cabot Trail. Our Class A, 45' motorhome fit on the back-in site with just enough room to park our tow in front. Sites are close together if park is crowded. Our site needed re-grading and fresh gravel. Roads are dirt, so dust can be annoying if no recent rain. Campground is convenient to TransCanada highway & start of the Cabot Trail. Baddeck has several restaurants, coffee shops, some shopping, pretty wharf area, and 1 Co-op grocery. Portions of the Restrooms were under construction, but the ones open were clean. Lake frontage at the rear of the campground is very nice, but few campsites actually have a view of the lake. Utilities are at the back of the site, so long cords may be necessary. Staff friendly. After 2 years of full time travel, we had our first theft here during the day. Our awning pull rod was stolen while we were away from camp. Spotty wifi. No DirecTV satellite. Cabot Trail was somewhat disappointing, especially riding a Harley. Roads were in terrible condition in August in many sections. Lots of rough sections, patching, & the mountain drive near Pleasant Bay was particularly bad with long sections unpaved with gravel only. The beauty of Cabot Trail is on the western side from Margaree Harbour to Pleasant Bay. We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Motorhome.

Elm River RV Park, Glenholme, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This campground can handle big rigs. Our 45' motorhome just fit into our grass site & we parked our tow across the gravel street. Mostly dirt/gravel roads with grass/gravel mix for sites. Can cause some dust without recent rain. Mostly 30amp service in the park, but there are some 50amp. Our 50amp was fine for the first part of the week, however the last 3-4 days it kept losing power & flipping the breaker. Restroom/Laundry clean but dated. Our satellite picked up DirecTV, but heard that DISH would not pick up due to low satellite direction. Park is gated at night after 11pm. Several RV caravans come through the park, so make reservations accordingly. MassMarket (a very nice deli/market), Petro Gas, and a diner are within 1 mile. Truro is about 15 min away. No wifi, must go to wifi hotspot at Playground, or the office. Easy on/off TransCanada 2. We camped at Elm River RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone, Verona, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Visited in our 2018 Class A, 45' motorhome. Office staff friendly & responsive. Bath houses clean. Some laundry machines out of order, $1.50wash, $1.00dry. Big rig sites paved (that's great) & enough pull thru space to park tow. Our FHUs were good. Navigating is easy & turns are good, BUT there are several spots where tree limbs need trimming (roads, turns, sites) Our 12'8" height brushed several limbs. There are many shady sites where satellite would be impossible. Ask the staff if that is important to you. Would stay at this park again. If you only need a night or 2 off the road, go to the "High Roller Truck Parking" lot where parking is FREE, there are electric hook ups, and a shuttle to the Casino. Sav-On Gas (next door) has excellent gas & diesel prices. We camped at The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone in a Motorhome.

Hickory Hill Family Camping Resort, Bath, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

Very good location for visiting the Finger Lakes, wineries, parks, lakes, etc. Park is geared for families & children with lots of activities/ amenities. We visited in a Class A, 45' motorhome. Some sites have shade, some are totally open. Big rig area has pull thrus, picnic table, full hook ups, fire ring. Some have a paver or concrete patio also. Mostly dirt/gravel roads which creates some dust. Our site was a gravel/grass mix. Roads to 'big rig' area navigate well & turns are fairly easy. Not a 5 star for us since we don't travel with children & the price is fairly high. We camped at Hickory Hill Family Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Bath has all the necessities. Nearest Walmart is in Corning, about 18 miles from the campground. Travel to the campground on Route 13 from downtown Bath to the entrance currently has several tree limbs that are low. RVs 12'8" or higher will brush these branches. Chat A While diner in downtown is a nice stop for breakfast or lunch.
