Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Almost all gravel streets & campsites. Sites are generally dual sites--back to back. Campground was not busy during our stay in September. FHUs worked fine. No cable, no problem with satellite. Few shade trees. Almost all sites are pretty level, but a few have a crown in the middle, so if this is a concern, check your site before moving to it. Convenient location to the Amana Colonies. 8-9 miles to Coralville Mall, Walmart, chain restaurants, home stores. 16-17 miles to Cedar Rapids. Staff very helpful during our week stay. Camped in our Class A, 45' Entegra and would stay again. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Neshonoc Lakeside Camping Resort, West Salem, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

We wanted to stay in the La Crosse area, but there are not too many options for big rigs. Stayed here in our 45', Class A motorhome for a week. Location is pretty good for La Crosse & Onalaska, seeing the area, Mississippi, etc. 8-9 mi to Walmart, shopping, restaurants, chain stores, etc. If you have kids, this is a great park w/lots of activities, play areas, pools, etc. Busy with families on the weekends. If no kids, you are paying for things you don't use. There are many park models & seasonal campers that take up the majority of the waterfronts/waterview sites. There is a handful of premium sites with a water view. The pull-thru area for RVs has no view of the water. Sites here are mostly level, picnic table, fire ring. Narrow paved roads with long grassy sites. FHU worked fine. NO Cable, No Wifi without paying an extra ladder of fees. Even paying the "resort" camping rate which should have included wifi at a minimum. Luckily, my Verizon Jetpak got 2 bars. Our deposit was also $250 as another camper mentioned here. For big rigs, you may want to ck your site first before pulling in. Several sites had tree branches that needed trimming and would have brushed our coach or roof. Our site required minimal trimming once we extended the slides. If you are a TT or Encore member, you probably love this place. We camped at Neshonoc Lakeside Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Blue Ox RV Park (Blue Ox customers only), Pender, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in Pender in our 45' Entegra motorhome w/tow. Had our Blue Ox tow hitch reconditioned; this service is Thursday & Friday. Factory tours generally take place on Fridays. Campground is very nice, some gravel/some concrete sites with full hook ups. Site 10 is concrete and a pull in. Pull forward to set up and back out to leave. Level, no issues getting satellite. There is a loop where more limited utilities might work for some guests. Small clubhouse has restroom, no showers, coffee, TV, however it is open only during business hours. Confirm your arrangements with Blue Ox AND ASK about highways closed or under construction. 2 highway arteries to the campground were closed for bridge repair during our stay. We camped at Blue Ox RV Park (Blue Ox customers only) in a Motorhome.

Country Roads Motorhome & RV Park, Lake Delton, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed in our Class A, 45' motorhome with tow for about 2 weeks. The campground is in a nice location for exploring the area, the Dells, Baraboo, Madison, etc. Clean campground, laundry $2wash, $2dry, utilities worked well, quiet at night. The entrance is paved up to the office/store, however then the roads are gravel & the sites are gravel/grass. Dust was minimal however. Each site has a picnic table & fire ring. Several campsites are mostly level for larger rigs. Be sure to specify. A large pine tree is between each site & we had to adjust our rig in order to get satellite & avoid the pine tree. Verizon 3 bars. Campground wifi was spotty. Would stay here again. We camped at Country Roads Motorhome & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Scheffel's Hideaway Campground, Two Rivers, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Several days stay in our Class A, 45' motorhome with tow. Site was mostly level with picnic table & fire ring. Quiet campground surrounded by pine trees, close to Two Rivers (2 mi). Owners are available, friendly & eager to help. All roads and sites are gravel creating LOTS of dust if no recent rain. Easy day trips in the area...Green Bay, Milwaukee, Door County. The worst part was the HARD WATER, full of minerals. Even with filters, the hard water spotted/stained many of our appliances. Suggest RVers be prepared with significant water conditioning equipment. Pay showers available. We camped at Scheffel's Hideaway Campground in a Motorhome.

Peshtigo River Campground, Crivitz, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig friendly pull-thru sites are upfront near the office. Sites are long and narrow, level. Stayed 3 nights in our Class A, 45' motorhome with tow. Every car, trailer, camper, etc. checking in or coming/going from the lower camping area traveled past this row of pull thrus on crushed gravel roads. So, the DUST is constant unless it rains. It would be GREAT if owners paved at least the approach road and section in front of the office!! Bathrooms started out clean, but after a Saturday of river tubers they were pretty well used & dirty. Satellite was no problem. 2-3 bars for Verizon. Full hook ups worked well. Lots of campers had campfires and the air was smoky often. We camped at Peshtigo River Campground in a Motorhome.

Farquar-Metsa Tourist Park, Gwinn, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

A small campground about 20 miles south of Marquette, Mich. Has 20 RV back-in campsites, 4-5 sites will accommodate a big rig. We camped in our 45' Class A motorhome with tow. Excellent value using Passport America. $14 Mon-Thurs. $28 weekend days & holidays. Mostly gravel roads & sites. Full hook ups all worked well. Verizon-3 bars. Rustic restrooms, but clean. Gwinn has a handful of restaurants, post office, library, fuel station, park, and small grocery (Larry's), plus 2 dollar stores. Very quiet and peaceful. Would stay again. Must disconnect tow vehicle, no pull thrus. Our tag axle was backed up to the back edge of the site with the rear of the coach hanging over the grass. Interior roads can be dusty if no recent rain. Most sites do not have satellite obstructions. We camped at Farquar-Metsa Tourist Park in a Motorhome.

Bay Mills RV Park, Brimley, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig friendly. Stayed in our Class A, 45' motorhome w/tow. Long pull through, level sites in the FHU side. 50amp electric is sketchy. Varied between 119 and 107. Low voltage reported & Maintenance workers said they knew about the volt problem since 2018 & park needed to be rewired. Flipped our power breaker twice in the afternoon. Gravel roads/gravel-grassy sites. If no recent rain, roads may be dusty. Open campsites, no shade. Boat launch & Casino across the street. Quiet at night, no trains, no highway noise. We camped at Bay Mills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Aune-Osborn Campground, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Would be a 10 if pads were concrete or paved, and sites had sewer connections. Stayed in our Class A, 45' motorhome with F150 truck. Clean showers, restrooms, laundry. Paved streets, gravel/grassy sites. Open campground, only about 3 sites have any shade to speak of. Friendly staff. Adjacent boat launch. Dual dump station. May need a long elec cord or extended water hose to reach the connections (usually at the rear of the site). Excellent location to see the locks & the area. Roads easy to navigate. About 24 waterfront sites and several other sites have a partial water view. Benches at the waterfront to watch all the water activity. Would stay again. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

Kewadin Casino Hotel and Campground, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Several sites are Big-Rig friendly. 30amp only sites with dump & water station in the casino parking lot nearby. Small campground with pull thru or back in sites. First come/first serve. We tried to park overnight on the parking lot in our Class A, 45', but Security knocked and sed we had to use the campground. Clean bathhouse, easy walk to casino. Access to pool/spa when you stay in the CG. Gravel roads, grassy sites. Campground does not look like much, but inside the Casino & public areas are very nice, worth a walk through. Spaces would have been close together if CG was busy. We camped at Kewadin Casino Hotel and Campground in a Motorhome.

Lakeshore Park Campground, Saint Ignace, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Nice small campground, friendly staff, long pull throughs or back in spaces, big rig friendly, some shady sites, some are open, clean restrooms/showers. FHUs worked fine, picnic table, fire rings. Roads are gravel, sites are partial gravel or grassy. May need an extension or 2 hoses to reach the sewer/water connections. Access to a rocky beach across the street. View of the Mackinaw waterway mostly for front row campers. 1-2 Verizon bars, campground wifi good/steady. Quiet street just off the main highway. Grocery, shopping, restaurants, fuel, coffee shops, marinas, shuttles to Mackinac Island are a short drive away. Would have given a 10 if roads were paved and sites were concrete. Ask for a 'cash' discount. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Petoskey RV Resort, Bay Harbor, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

We made reservations, asking for a site left of the entrance gates. "Oh, we're so busy & full". Took Site 90 at the corner of the park, right side of the gates. Busy hiway with major feeder road 1 site over from site 90. Pull thrus avail, but didn't need it or the extra cost. After a walk, we found sites avail in different places around the park, including the back row. Over 3 days, more pads opened up. 2 entire rows of pull thru sites were completely open for 2 days. I truly think the staff could have moved a camper or 2 around to accommodate our request to be anywhere on the left side of the gates!! And, just so you know, the left side of the park is lovely, lushly landscaped with some shady areas, water features, concrete pads/FHU, firepit, picnic tables. Right side of the entrance gates is newer, less landscaping, no water features, & 1 pond that is slowly going away for RVers b/c the park is installing park models for rent around this only feature. Pros: *Light breakfast served in the Clubhouse each morning. *Nice spa/pool/showers/fireplace at the Clubhouse. *Location for seeing the area is very good. Upon set up, I called to ask if the active ant beds could be treated along our pad. Said they would send someone. Next day, I left a message with same request. Plus, treated the ants w/Raid myself as a minimal defense. Day 3, I stepped into the office & made the 3rd request in person. No one ever showed up/treated the increasing ant beds. In fact, for a week we didn't see any staff moving thru the park after trash was picked up at 11am. Site was satisfactory except NOISE and MANY ant beds along concrete pad and grass. We camped at Petoskey RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sunny Brook RV Resort, South Haven, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig friendly. Private owned sites, many owners put their sites in a rental pool. Paved streets, concrete pads. Lovely landscaping, large pond fronts a row of sites with casitas or large paver patios. We stayed in our Class A, 2018 Entegra, no problems, all h/u worked fine. Clean large pool, clubhouse, showers, spa, gated entrance. Very good location to visit the area, South Haven, beach, wineries, bike trails, breweries. We felt the price was a bit high, & we were not on a direct pond view sites. But its the summer season! We camped at Sunny Brook RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Poncho's Pond RV Park, Ludington, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig friendly. Stayed in our class A, 45' motorhome with tow. Beautiful park with lots of landscaping, water features, amenities, long campsites & a good location. Most sites have good privacy, some are close together. Fire ring & table. Most sites are concrete, although some sites are gravel. Roads are paved. Although most all campsites are exceptionally long & can accommodate a large RV & tow, roads are narrow and turns could be tight if you remain hitched. Recommend unhitch at check in. Verizon 4-5 bars, wifi pretty reliable, clean restrooms, pools, spa and facilities. Hook ups worked fine. Did not use the Fitness Room. Friendly staff & they will lead you to your campsite. Had a wonderful 6 days in the campground and would return. Note: A busy train track runs adjacent to the rear property line. When the trains come by (several times a day/night), the RV vibrates. Narrow roads. We unhitched at the office. Did not give 5 stars because of the train noise. Perhaps closer to the front of the park there is less noise and vibration. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Willows on the Lake, Adams, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here in our 45'Class A with tow. Quiet lakefront campground has mostly gravel roads and sites, although some sites are grass. Roads are narrow, MOVE with caution. Dip at entrance from highway & pretty sharp turn Left prior to arriving at office. For big rigs, suggest unhitch as soon as off the highway. The seasonal RVs & park models are near the water with the best views of the dock area & Lake Ontario. Larger sites are at the back of the campground & pull thru. Minimal lake view, but easy walk to the lakefront. One rustic bathhouse with 2 stalls and 2 showers, clean. Wash $2/Dry $1.50. Full hook ups w 50amp worked fine. Good wifi, Verizon 2-3 bars, no problem with satellite. Owners friendly & willing to help. At our request, they added more gravel around our utility post so that we didn't have to hook up/unhook/dump in the mud. Sackets Harbor 4.5 miles, Watertown 11 miles. Lots to see & do in the 1000 Islands area. We camped at The Willows on the Lake in a Motorhome.
