June Lake RV Park, June Lake, California

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This park is pretty quirky. It's small with spots on the front & back and a few more wedged in the middle. We got a wedge spot in the middle and didn't like it at all because there was zero privacy. And I mean Zero :/. But, in all fairness, it was the 4th of July and somebody has to get the crappy spots. Management was as friendly & helpful as could be which was a big plus.

We were told when we made the reservation that there were no public bathrooms or showers so that wasn't an issue to us. Is a rustic, small park.

The park is located in a neighborhood and very close to the Main Street, a brewery and some awesome Hawaiian food truck grub. It was a terrific place to walk the dog! Gull Lake is a couple blocks one way and June Lake Marina is 1/4 mile in another direction.

We will definitely return but we'll ask for a better location. We have our preferred spot scoped out already! We camped at June Lake RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sparks Marina RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park has its pluses & minuses.

On the plus side: Extremely clean grounds, restrooms & "dog parks." Convenient to the freeway, shopping & entertainment. Check in is easy and quick. Staff shows you to your site and helps you park.

On the minus side: WiFi is sketchy. The "dog park" is really a small toilet area where dogs go to relieve themselves, not to play or socialize. No real grass anywhere. Each space has a patch of AstroTurf lawn. The planted areas are scrubs and gravel. Staff is a little too "big brother." If your dog pees on a bush while walking to the dog area, you'll hear about it. If you drive more than 5 mph, you'll get a talking to. If your kids play too hard, they'll be chastised. If your guest parks in an empty spot for even a few minutes, you'll get a phone call telling you to move.

So, if you want clean facilities, don't mind fake grass and lots of asphalt and if you don't mind following every small rule to the tee, and being watched constantly, this is your place. We camped at Sparks Marina RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Legends Shopping Center is within walking distance. With a beautiful IMax theatre and a diverse collection of retail outlets, it's a great place to shop or walk.
