Fox Den Acres, New Stanton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very large RV park located within about 30 miles of our destination in Pittsburgh. It has lots of amenities (pool, fishing lake, etc) but all we needed was a safe place to park to sleep at night. Our site was in a large field with RV's lined up as if they were attending a drive-in movie. That said, the spaces were adequate, the roads and pads were good, and the hookups were satisfactory. We were much too far away to check out the restrooms, showers, or the pool but we didn't need them anyway. We will probably stay here again when we are in Pittsburgh. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.

Camp Creek State Park, Camp Creek, West Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The minute we drove into the campground we remembered that we had camped here before, back in 2012. We liked it then and we like it now. It is a charming little park not far from I-77. It is an older park and shows signs of age and maybe some budget problems but a valiant effort has been made to keep it clean and well cared for. We camped at Camp Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA), Wade, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this location to be near our grandson (who is stationed at Ft. Bragg) and his family. We knew that it was a large commercial campground but were very pleasantly surprised to find that it was so well landscaped and shaded. Someone went to a lot of trouble to maximize the mature trees and available space to make this truly camper friendly. Our young relatives spent a day there with us and enjoyed the playground and the pool. We will stay here again. We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Motorhome.

Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort, Lutz, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a Encore Snowbird Community that consists mostly of park models and permanent units. It is in an urban area with busy 4-lane streets and shopping centers all around. Our spot was at the end of a row and had little to recommend it except full hookups and it felt safe. We had a grassy patch with no picnic table. We tried it out while visiting our son in Tampa. It was just "ok", and we probably won't go there again. We camped at Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Creekwood Inn and RV Park, Anchorage, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Previous reviews had scared us away from this park during our 2013 visit to Anchorage but we decided to give it a try this time. Yes, it is a gravel parking lot with minimum width for units, but overall it is far nicer than the other choices. The entire operation has been recently renovated, repainted, and spruced up. Everything was clean and inviting. The wooded area that goes down to the creek is not accessible but it lends coolness and a nice visual barrier. There is nothing seedy or rundown on the premises and it is in a good neighborhood. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We stay in Anchorage to visit friends so it suited us just fine. We camped at Creekwood Inn and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
