Oak Park Kampground, Garfield, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice CG, quiet and in the country. Lots of shade trees. Spacious sites, gravel and grass. We were in a pull through site which was level with good hookups. Several seasonal/permanent. Owners keep everything nice. Little lake with paddle boats. Pool and playground. Large grassy field in the back is ideal for dog walking. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Oak Park Kampground in a Motorhome.

Big Pines Tent & RV Park, Park Rapids, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The CG itself is quite nice with lots of trees, kind of like camping in the woods. Several seasonals and some of the sites were quite nice. Unfortunately we were in a newer section. Extremely unlevel for our 38 ft MH. First site was totally unworkable, moved to different site and our jacks sunk 4 inches into the sandy ground despite blocks and pads. Then steps hit the ground in the front of the coach. Had to buy a sheet of plywood and cut into 4 sections for the jacks. Was still unlevel. Young guy at office was sympathetic but unable to help. Noisy over the weekend. Decent hookups. No WiFi at our site. Would not stay again n this section. We camped at Big Pines Tent & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lakehead Boat Basin, Duluth, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Basically a parking lot. But the views of the harbor and the big ships going by make it worth it. Good hookups, make sure to bring a water pressure regulator as their pressure is very high. Not much WiFi but good ATT. Showers and BR basically a couple of porta potties, but nearby hotel is accessible to RVers. Walking distance to lift bridge and downtown. Viewing areas and green areas under each side of the bridge good for dog walking. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

North Park Campground, Dickinson, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Decent stop for a night or two not far off I-94. This is a very large CG and permanent park model development. Sites are level gravel with good hookups. Not a lot of room between sites. Of note the pull through sites share, so your door faces your neighbors door. No amenities to speak of. Lots of grassy areas around perimeter to walk dogs. WiFi was good. We camped at North Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Denver West / Central City KOA, Central City, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice campground. Sites 1-10/12 have beautiful views down into the valley and Central City. They are pull in sites so the view from the windshield of your MHome is really awesome. Nice and level, paved pad. Good hookups. WiFi worked well. Only drawback...no grass for your dogs. Very small dog enclosure with a partial artificial turf pad.however there is an abandoned parking lot next door with some grassy areas and room to walk. Of note, owners were very friendly and helpful. Got a daily greeting and the older gentleman offered to take my trash to the dumpster if he saw me walking with it. We camped at Denver West / Central City KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Central City is mostly casinos which seem to be dying out in favor of newer and glitzier ones in Blackhawk. An interesting drive down Oh My God Rd will take you to cute Idaho Springs.

Manor RV Park, Estes Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

Nicely situated RV Park. Our site was riverside with lots of foot traffic at times. Level, gravel site with picnic table and concrete patio. Good hookups. Escort to site and help with positioning, much needed with the longer trailers and 5th wheels as interior roads s/w narrow. Community fire pits. Ice cream social and potluck. Many seasonal residents. Good areas for dog walking. We camped at Manor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Winding River RV Resort, Grand Lake, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Enjoyed our stay in this rustic resort. Gravel/natural sites, we were in E/W site, close to office. Varied sites, the ones in the back were gravel only and close together. Lots of kid activities, horseback stables and ATV rentals. Good areas for dog walking. Close to RMNP. No WiFi or ATT cell. We camped at Winding River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Eagle Soaring RV Park, Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Adequate RV Park for visiting Steamboat Springs area. Sites are gravel and in a long line adjacent to an elevated ranch area. Some maneuvering required to avoid trees with slides. A grassy/natural area separates the sites from the highway, where you can walk your dog. Lots of thistles. Hookups adequate. No picnic table. Roadway is gravel and very dusty with each vehicle passage. Check in at site 1. Cell and WiFi ok but we were parked next to it. We camped at Eagle Soaring RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rifle Gap State Park - Lakeview Loop, Rifle, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Really Nice state park. Of note, must pay CO state park daily admission or annual pass. Sites are terraced up a hill with full hookups. Some have nice lake views. All are nicely spaced. Cement pads with gravel patios and tables. Lots of space for walking dogs. Very friendly camp hosts. Rifle a cute small town to visit. Be sure and check out Rifle Falls SP as well as Rifle Mountain municipal park where there were several rock climbers. Only drawback- no cell service or OTA TV. We are already planning a return. We camped at Rifle Gap State Park - Lakeview Loop in a Motorhome.

Monument RV Resort, Fruita, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Basically a gravel lot. Hookups fine. Very close to your neighbors. Table and awning right next to neighbors sewer. Very pretty landscaping around office and pool, but no grass otherwise. Tiny dog "run" which was full of dog leavings. Bright spot was state park across busy highway with lots of grass and great place for dog walking. Very hot while we were there. Not much to downtown Fruita but close to Grand Junction. We camped at Monument RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Montrose / Black Canyon Nat'l Park KOA , Montrose, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Our second time here. This is a nice campground with level gravel sites and grass in between. Some shade. Quite a few permanent/seasonals. Very friendly. Good hookups. Dog bags available limited dog walk area and very small enclosed K 9. Montrose has certainly grown since we were here 5 yrs ago. Really miss the weekly downtown market. We camped at Montrose / Black Canyon Nat'l Park KOA in a Motorhome.

Ouray RV Park & Cabins, Ouray, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Nice level sites. Good hookups. Adequate WiFi. Very busy, stayed full throughout our stay. Basically this is a large open gravel lot. Very few trees. Little to no shade. Our site had decent space to our neighbors, which allowed much cut through. Many sites were tighter. Riverfront sites were closer together, and an embankment created a visual barrier. Gravel was kind of hard on dog feet, saw many people carrying their pets to the trail alongside the river. Although not much actual grass there, it was dog friendly. While in the area we checked out other RV parks. This was by far the best. Add to that the convenience of being close to Ouray and the beautiful area. Wish they would add some grass and some trees. We would stay here again. We camped at Ouray RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

La Mesa RV Park, Cortez, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Small park and is indeed in a light commercial area, but clean and quiet. Sites are gravel, very spacious on the pull through side. We were in site 25 and had lots of shade from mature trees. There are a few grassy areas to walk dogs. However there is a great dog park close and some municipal parks also. Hookups were fine but located at back of site and needed extensions. Did have a city water issue for a couple hours one day and went it came back on there was some discoloration, which was cleaned up by our filter. WiFi was pretty good for a RV Park. People friendly. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bayfield Riverside RV Park, Bayfield, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Very pretty park. Stream running through has been diverted and landscaped to form some small ponds for fishing. Bridges to walk over. Lots of flowers and green grass. RV sites are gravel. Excellent maintenance with sites raked and edges of stream raked to remove cottonwood blooms. Some sites are pretty close together. Several seasonals. Good hookups. Cable not very clear. WiFi 2 bars from our site. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bighorn Park, Coaldale, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

What a nice find. Stayed 3 nights just to relax and see the area. Lovely views of snow capped mountains to the south and desert mountains to the north. Arkansas river runs right behind. Bighorn sheep supposed to be in the area, but we didn't see any. Pool, playground. Hookups good. WiFi spotty, but adequate for most things. Very friendly owners! Some grassy areas for dog walking.
