New Frontier RV Park, Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

This park is as good as it gets. Polite & friendly desk staff [yes, that does matter], excellent level sites, CATV with great channel lineup, well-maintained and landscaped. Have stayed here before and it just gets better. Great value with P.A. for two nights. We camped at New Frontier RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cowlitz Falls Campground, Randle, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful campground, meticulously maintained with generously sized and very private woodsy sites. They do have a few full hookup sites but most are water and electric. The dump station area is very clean and there are two stations. It's only four miles south of US 12. Will definitely stay here again, though it's not cheap. Much nicer than any of the RV parks in the area. We camped at Cowlitz Falls Campground in a Motorhome.

Arrow Mountain RV Park, Creston, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed six nights here during Labor Day weekend. The gravel sites, both pull-through and back-in, were level with dry grass in between. Utilities are new but, at least in my site, the sewer receptacle was directly under the fresh water hookup. There is a bathroom building at the end of the parking area with two rooms. I understand one has a shower but I didn't use either. I did use the laundry facilities, which were inside the hotel and not accessible without going into the hotel. They consisted of two washers and two dryers. Nowhere to sit. The price was fair at $2/$2. There was ordinary traffic noise, a helicopter taking off and landing several times a day right next to the RV parking and huge trucks going in and out at all hours so not really quiet and there was a rock concert on Saturday night. The park's Wifi was excellent. We camped at Arrow Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Inga Lake Recreation Site, Wonowon, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Before visiting this 'gem', check out the road conditions. I should have been alerted to the possible problem when I saw the sign going in that said: 'Trucks must use chains in muddy conditions'. It was necessary to use my 4X4 to get in and out. It was also necessary for me to yield to an oncoming truck by driving into a shallow ditch. Having found and parked in a site [no one else around], I took a walk around the campground and discovered little 'creeks' forming and I realized that, if it continued to rain, I might not be able to get out of the place. So, discretion being the 'better part of valor', I left. [It took 12 loonies in a car wash to spray all the mud from under my wheel wells]. We camped at Inga Lake Recreation Site in a Motorhome.

Congdon Creek Campground (Yukon Government), Destruction Bay, Yukon

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Second visit to this campground and found it every bit as lovely as the first time. While the lakefront sites were taken, a nice site in the trees was pleasant, as well. Plenty of lake access and a good beach for walking. Great value at $12 Canadian. We camped at Congdon Creek Campground (Yukon Government) in a Motorhome.

Chilkoot Lake State Recreation Site, Haines, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is very nice, the sites private with trees and foliage and spaced well apart. The only problem is the road into the campground which is long and, while paved, is riddled with serious potholes. While I have a high-clearance vehicle, it must be a challenge for those who do not. It is possible that the park chooses to leave the potholes to act as 'speed bumps'. They also neglect to trim trees around the road. We camped at Chilkoot Lake State Recreation Site in a Motorhome.

Three Bears RV Park, Tok, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Have stopped here several times. Yes, a bare-bones park but a real value at $28 for full hookups and my site was the most level I've found in over two months in Alaska. Right next to a convenience store and service station. It has never been even half full when I've been there. Perfect for overnight. We camped at Three Bears RV Park in a Motorhome.

Haines Hitch-Up RV Park, Haines, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park demonstrates that an excellent RV park is possible in Alaska. Not only is it well laid out but it is well maintained and well managed. Grass sites with grass between sites, picnic table at each site, good Wifi and helpful staff. There are both pull-throughs and back-ins with slight variation in cost. Price represents Good Sam discount. Have stayed here in the past and will most certainly return. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Motorhome.

Riverside Park City Campground, Anderson, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A challenge finding the pay station--it's kind of outside the campground. But it's a pretty nice park. The hookup sites are all in row but I found a non-hookup site down the gravel road that was huge and nestled in the aspens. Worthwhile going a few miles out of your way. There is a shooting range here but I didn't find it. There seemed to be no host or anyone else of whom to ask questions and there was precious little information posted. We camped at Riverside Park City Campground in a Motorhome.

Pioneer Park, Fairbanks, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

There is no water available. Sign says it's turned off due to construction. As others have observed, it's just a paved parking lot at the Pioneer Park site and is convenient for visiting the park. [I recommend the flight museum]. The main issue here is the noise. Not just the constant traffic along the street but the tour and shuttle buses that are always going in and out. I would only stay here again if I needed to visit the park again and would bring ear plugs. We camped at Pioneer Park in a Motorhome.

Chugach State Park Bird Creek Campground, Anchorage, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Roomy and fairly level site. Not a bad campground but the road in has such terrible potholes that it's almost not worth it. We camped at Chugach State Park Bird Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Captain Cook State Recreation Area, Nikiski, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is even more beautiful than it was four years ago. Sites private, roomy, lots of wildflowers [and mosquitoes]. My site had a view of the mountains and the Inlet. Well worth driving a bit north of Kenai to visit. We camped at Captain Cook State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

King Salmon Motel and RV Park, Soldotna, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

OK for a night. Did laundry, $2.25/$2.25 but several units were 'out of order'. The sites are grass/gravel and would be close together if it were anywhere near full, which it wasn't. I don't recommend the restaurant. If they can't even do breakfast right, they aren't worth visiting. The road into the campground past the motel is unbelievably rough with big potholes. Use extreme care. Kenai is a lovely town, however. We camped at King Salmon Motel and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Riley Creek Campground (NPS Campground), Denali National Park, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park, well managed. No hookups but paved well-spaced sites. Took the bus ride into the interior and it was worthwhile as the day was sunny and Denali was 'out'. Some wildlife, including dall sheep, caribou and grizzly bears at a distance. Eight hour trip. We camped at Riley Creek Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.
