Little Mexico Campground, Winfield, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

First stay at Little Mexico for their Wine and Chocolate Weekend. The site backed up right to the river with nice views and was very spacious. Leveling was not bad side to side but was low in the back. Shore power and sewer hookups were very convenient and close. Cable did not work very well and cell phone reception was not the best either. There was no WiFi available from the campground this weekend. The pool is above ground, large but not very deep. The bathrooms are in need of an update but are adequate. The campground has lots of room for improvement and it did appear as if the owners are working on it. The location is great and we really did enjoy. We would camp here again. Make sure you follow the directions to the campground as posted on their website - you will be glad you did! We camped at Little Mexico Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Shenandoah Valley Campground, Verona, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Third time staying here but not the best time. We were in site #1 at the top of the hill, right nest to the store and there was CONSTANT traffic going by - car, truck, golf cart and foot. Plenty to do and see if you want to. With it being the 4th of July weekend and very busy, the staff did a very good job keeping up with the bathrooms and emptying trash. We would stay here again but down in the lower section and not over a holiday weekend. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Manchester KOA, Manchester, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed a week with the grandkids - plenty of activities for them to do: playgrounds, bounce pad, bouncy house, splash pad and slides at the pool. Our site was concrete with a patio - no side to side leveling needed! While it cost a little more for the patio, is was well worth it in our opinion. Very friendly and courteous campers and was quiet at night. Now as other reviewers have mentioned, there is considerable road noise from I-24 almost all the time but it did not keep us up at night. If you need real quiet to sleep, this is not the place to go. A noise reducing wall at the front of the campground next to I-24 would make a big difference. We camped at Manchester KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Davis Lakes Campground, Suffolk, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground with a wooden patio - very nice touch. Our site was spacious in the front but very close to our neighbors behind us. Some road noise but not noticeable. Restrooms are clean and well maintained - have to use a key to get in (given one a check in) which helped keeps kids from running wild in the restrooms. Good mix of overnight and seasonal sites - I did not see any really unkempt ones. Lake swimming only so there is no pool. Nice beach area and lots of water activities for kids. We camped at Davis Lakes Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wytheville KOA, Wytheville, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here twice in June on the way down and back from TN. First time was in site 61, not very level, not much room at site because of a big rock on the site but it worked for one night. On the way back from TN we stayed in site 71, much nice, more room, but not real level. Nice view out over the valley. The pool was very nice, large and had two slides for the kinds. Restrooms clean and well maintained. Bowling alley a plus too. Convenient from I-81 will very little road noise. Nice KOA. We camped at Wytheville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Endless Caverns Resort, New Market, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is our 5th time camping here over the past three years and this campground does not disappoint. Very spacious sites, clean restrooms and one of the best pools in the Shenandoah Valley. The C section is by far our favorite area - but there are a lot of other sections that are just as nice. They even have several companion sites and we enjoyed that very much when camping with friends. We camped at Endless Caverns Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

First time camping at this campground. Sites are well spaced where we were and the staff was great. Did't use the pool - was not open. Campground activities were well organized and well planned - Mother's Day Brunch. Follow directions to the campground as posted on their website. We would camp here again. Gettysburg / Battlefield KOA, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Once again, it was a great stay at this KOA. Sites are spaced nicely and this is not a large campground, giving it a more intimate feel. Of course when you camp in the spring, not all amenities are available. The campground is clean, there is good security and trash is picked up daily. There is plenty to do in the surrounding are making this a great camping destination. We will stay there again. We camped at Gettysburg / Battlefield KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Charlottesville KOA, Charlottesville, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first time staying here over Memorial Day Weekend. The campground was not full and was very quiet for a holiday weekend. This is not a very big campground and was one of the friendliest I can remember going to in sometime. Site was nice an level with plenty of room. Restrooms were nice but could have been cleaned a little more frequently. This is a CG where you turn off your phone and computer - WiFi and phone reception was not very good. Pool was nice and clear and well maintained. We would stay there again. We camped at Charlottesville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Richmond North / Kings Dominion KOA, Doswell, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is a well maintained campground with a wide variety of sites to choose from; from open sunny spots to woods with plenty of shade. Bathrooms were well maintained and garbage was picked up daily at the camp sites by staff. Of course, being so close to King's Dominion, that is the main attraction, since they run a free shuttle to the park daily as an added bonus. Camp store was well stocked for most emergencies. Power was stable with no issues and water pressure is very good -make sure you use a pressure regulator. The only down side we had at our site was that that once you are unhooked from your camper there is very limited space to park a tow vehicle. We would stay there again. We camped at Richmond North / Kings Dominion KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Drummer Boy Camping Resort, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed near the back of this camp ground to reduce the amount of noise from Route 15 - and it made a difference. The site was nice and spacious -did need a little work to level. Campground is large and we did not rent a golf cart or use the pool. There were plenty of sponsored activities planned that weekend so there were things for adults and kids to participated. This is the third time we have stayed at Drummer Boy and my first review. We would come back again. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Aces High RV Park, East Lyme, Connecticut

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

The park is advertised as a year round park but only one bathroom was open and was not convenient since our site was all the way in the back - the only open bathroom was in the front in the office - and needs to be updated. We did not use the showers, which are pay showers. Our site had recently had new dirt put on it but this created quite a "valley" right outside the door. There are also quite a few seasonal campers sprinkled throughout the park. We will not be going back this park. We camped at Aces High RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here six nights last week of September - this is by far one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at this year. The campground was very clean and well maintained - no trash, no weeds, no ruts in roads. The bathrooms are the best I think I have ever seen - cleaned daily and plenty of hot water. Even with the campground just about full on the weekend, the staff kept up with the bathrooms. Plenty of activities for the kids as well. Would highly recommend. We camped at Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Shenandoah Valley Campground, Verona, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

If you are looking for a campground to take the kids to that offers plenty of activities, this is the place. From renting golf carts, tubing down the river, arcade, put put golf, swimming pool and hot tubs, there is PLENTY to do. Not to mention karaoke and a DJ for dancing, the campground offers many activities. During our stay the campground was very close to full and surprisingly, very quit in the evening and night. Parking within the sites would be somewhat tight but manageable. Trash cans were convenient throughout the grounds and picked up twice a day. Restrooms and showers were clean, no lack of hot water. We would stay here again. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Shenandoah Hills Campground, Madison, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time we stayed at this campground - first time was three years ago (I did not review at that time) and it is much improved since then. Cleaner, well maintained and friendlier. No problems maneuvering in or out of campground or camp site. There was some rain while we were there and drainage throughout was good - I did not see standing water in our site or around the campground. Restrooms are clean, well lite and well maintained. The pool was nice and clear. This campground also has nice little things for you to do over the weekend as well - ice cream social and a small craft for dad to make (Father's Day Weekend). The camp store had a good selection if you needed something as well. We would camp here again. We camped at Shenandoah Hills Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
