Clarksville RV Park & Campground, Clarksville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

A really nice little campground a stones throw off of I24. We are here on an overnight as we travel through, but this place is really nice. Very well cared for, grounds are immaculate, nice small playground for the kids, and sitting area for the adults. FHU was excellent. 20/30/50 amp power at 117v, 55 lbs of water pressure and nice sewer. Sites are very close together, but well groomed. Gas station nearby has a good price for diesel. We camped at Clarksville RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Ivy Acres Lodge and RV Park, Piedmont, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fine park for an overnight or short stay. We were just traveling through an thought this would be a good stop off of I65, it is. Pull through was a little short, but all the FHU items were okay. Site not totally level but certainly adequate. Office staff was helpful with the reservation, make at the last minute. Park itself is quite attractive and well kept. Would certainly be willing to stay here again if passing through. We camped at Ivy Acres Lodge and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Destin RV Beach Resort, Miramar Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $131.00
Overall Rating:

Very expensive, surcharges on water and electricity make this resort a poor value, but the resort IS spotless. Sites are immaculate, beautifully landscaped, and the location is excellent. Staff was wonderful and the experience was overall good. We just found $38.50 in surcharges for a week is unusual and unpleasant. Less than 1/4 mile away was another RV park (No where near as nice), but half the price. The site was excellent concrete with pavers pad, FHU was well laid out and the cable service was good. Internet was even good. The pool was small but nice. Laundry was $9.50 a load, but washers/dryers worked. Sites here can NOT handle a big rig. My 35 fiver with tow vehicle was about max for this site. Tell them your overall length and they will find the best site for you. We camped at Destin RV Beach Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Minooka Park, Jemison, Alabama

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is a real gem about 10 miles east of I-65 an hour south of Birmingham. Is a very small park, only 18 sites, but in a really pretty setting. Need to arrive by 6 in order to get a gate code from the Ranger. Can be done on line, but this was a last minute stop for us. Pad was concrete and very easy to back into, they all are at this park. Half the sites are FHU with good 50/30 amp service, and water pressure. Very safe and secure area to stay in while traveling. Long way to town, so if you need anything, get it before you arrive. We camped at Minooka Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Big Bone Lick State Park, Union, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice State Park, with a good pool, small herd of Buffalo and a small museum. I'm here for the NASCAR race so the location is excellent. Sites in my section are no level -- two wheels are off the ground and front is considerably higher than the back. 30 amp power with my adapter is a challenge, outlet is loose so the cord wants to fall out. All that said, this is a real gem. Wonderful trails, the park people are all very helpful and I'd stay here again in a heart beat. We camped at Big Bone Lick State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rest Up Camping & RV Corral, Grayville, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, newer park. Ideal for a night or two. Drive through site was 100 feet long, all utilities were as expected. OTA TV is fine here, and several themed things to do for children. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday. People in the office were terrific and helpful. Pay attention to the map. We camped at Rest Up Camping & RV Corral in a Fifth Wheel.

Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park, West Memphis, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Really enjoyed my visit. Weather was a little dreary, but the site right on the Mississippi was very enjoyable. Was angled so got a clear view of the boat traffic out of the right side windows. All units on this row get a clear view. Quick access to Memphis for any touring that you might want to do. Access is to the park is clearly marked from the interstates. Power, water and sewer were all in good shape. Check in was easy and the concrete pad was fairly level. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bull Shoals - White River State Park, Bull Shoals, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of my two favorite campgrounds. Absolutely beautiful with the White River running rapidly on one side of the park. Trout fishing is spectacular and the marina (on site) rents kayaks, and fishing boats at a reasonable price. I had a FHU site right on the river and all the utilities were excellent. I thought I had a water issue, but valve must be turned all the way on to set the back flow preventer. Rangers were helpful and friendly. I wasn't the first that had had that issue, even today. Staff and check-in was easy and every one here is pleasant and friendly. Typical Arkansas hospitality. Bull Shoals is a little off the beaten path, but this is a great place to spend a week, any time of the year. We camped at Bull Shoals - White River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nashville East / Lebanon KOA, Lebanon, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice KOA just east of Nashville. Very helpful front desk people, I had wanted 50 amp, pull through and none were available when I called for the reservation. When I arrive, a person had left early and the desk people remembered my request and changed it for me. The campground shows a lot of recent work. Very clean, well kept and maintained. Internal roads are excellent and the sites are quite nice. You are in the hills, so perfectly level doesn't exist, but most are pretty close. Side to side very good, front to back some level of slope. 50 amp service was excellent, good water pressure and sewer on our site #46. Pool looked very nice, playground is fine, everything here is well done. We camped at Nashville East / Lebanon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Ebenezer Park, Rock Hill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful small County run park that has it all. Lake swimming, boating, wooded campsites and some that are not. Very helpful people on site. I changed my reservation twice and they really worked to accommodate my one night stay. We had a full hookup drive through site #31 that was wonderful. Really couldn't ask for more. My fifth wheel had a water issue and the Ranger shut the water off. Hadn't been back at the site 5 minutes before someone told me about it. Really helpful. Roads and sites in that park are all first rate. We camped at Ebenezer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Warriors Path State Park, Kingsport, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Three days before arriving they had a Microburst come through that knocked out power and downed many trees, so this review will be a little odd. I was supposed to arrive on Sunday, but had truck problems and kept changing the date. The office people were terrific, very flexible and helpful in accommodating me. Couldn't ask for more, when we arrived the rangers were out with chain saws still cleaning up the mess. The park is beautiful and shows great care. The camping section is somewhat dated. The roads are not in great shape, very narrow and hard to navigate. The sites are all back in, some easy, some not so much, and the vary in length. We have 50 amp service which is strong, the water pressure is a little low, and there is no sewer. OTA TV is great, Verizon phone is strong. Some sites are level, others less so. The biggest negative is trying to turn a large rig around so you can leave. Overall a very nice park, just dated. We camped at Warriors Path State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

This is an exquisite Resort Park, and a great home base to visit Washington. The site was excellent, water at 45 psi with two hoses attached, sewer excellent, and 50 amp circuit was perfect. Site was level and very well maintained. The park is spotless and nice flower pots in many areas. The amenities are terrific, two pools, hot tub, sauna and a very clean laundry room. Lots for the kids to do, with an outdoor movie every night. On site snack bar is terrific with fresh cinnamon buns and Herseys ice cream. Never been in a nicer park. Expensive, but good value. They do charge for occupants including children and pets. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Fifth Wheel.

Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, Jefferson Township, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Reservation help was excellent. We got in after dark, site #7 took 25 tries to back in, then got help from a retired trucker. Took her 15 tries and we aren't in straight. 34 ft Fifth wheel and F350. The park is beautiful wooded New Jersey hills. Very scenic. Electricity is fine with 50 amp service. Water hoses are provided on this site as the connection is about 100 feet away, and is in the middle of the woods, very odd setup. Others have water on their site near the street, but requires extra hoses. There is no sewer, but there is a dump station. This is a small park with only 19 sites, none are perfectly level, but most are easy to adjust for. Overall a very nice place, but the water and site 7 issue made it difficult for us. Water connections are difficult to find. Will need extra hose. We camped at Mahlon Dickerson Reservation in a Fifth Wheel.

Campers Haven RV Resort, Dennis Port, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. I don't understand the past negative reviews. It is fairly large with 245 sites, and 80-90% are seasonal use, but well maintained and attractive. Private beach on Vineyard Sound, with great activities for kids and adults. Snack bar on site is very nice, store is well stocked and staff very helpful. Cable is excellent, WIFI was awful during the weekend, but to be expected. Right next door is a good beach restaurant. 50 amp service was fine, water pressure good, sewer is an odd issue here. Can only dump gray water. A truck pumps your black out on Tuesday and Friday, or you can use the dump stations. A whole new sewer system will be installed 2018-2019 winter. Interior roads were tight but navigable with my F350 pulling 34 ft fifth wheel. Some pads concrete, our pull through was gravel, but fine and we arrived after a big rain. Very pretty grounds. Well worth staying here. Very good price for Cape Cod and terrific location. We camped at Campers Haven RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
