Wildwood Acres Campground, Hartford City, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Not what we expected for $34 a nite - very narrow gravel roads, no drives/concrete or even gravel for lots - parked on grass. When it rained (a lot) the area around the swimming pool (which is not finished though advertised as with a swimming pool) flooded, as well as the putt putt golf course. We had to walk outside barefoot to get ready to leave as our shoes would get very wet since the grass was saturated. I would not stay again for that amount of money (it was quiet there - since lots of permanent summer resident campers were not around). Staff was friendly. I've been to better for the same amount of money. Laundry was available but not close enough to walk to. We camped at Wildwood Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park, Effingham, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Was happy until they parked a camper next to us that was directly on our back end at an angle. Way too close for me. Did laundry and it was clean with 3 washers and 3 dryers at $1.50 ea., which is reasonable. My only complaint was that they shut off the power early in the morning about 8:30 am and did not notify us before hand (they had it scheduled and knew the day before). Left us without power for breakfast, cleanup to get on the road to our next destination. Unfortunately, it happened again the next day at the next park we stayed at! No consideration for campers. I just don't feel some of these parks are worth $38 a nite either! Starting to price us out of camping - Good Sams is a major cause of these rate hikes (so you can get a 'discount'). We camped at Camp Lakewood Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pine Grove Village MH & RV Park, Columbia, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Called and reserved a spot - when we got there they took us to our site. It was very narrow (possible the worst spot in the campground) and had no room between the camper on our right (stepped out the door to his septic line). We complained and they moved us over two spots which did have a nice grassy area and more room. All good and fine. Until the next morning at 8:30am when they shut off the power with no notice! We were in the middle of getting cleaned up and ready to have breakfast - then no power! We asked and they said there was a scheduled outage for electrical work (trees, etc.) - however, they neglected to inform anyone! Angry to say the least. The staff was very polite and offered coupons or Starbucks coffee (which we do not drink or eat unfortunately). Just felt it was quite wrong not to inform us of the scheduled outage ahead of time! It also has lots of "working" people staying semi-permanently in campers. Not my idea of the best campground, but not the worst I have seen either. We camped at Pine Grove Village MH & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Road RV Park, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park several times due to its convenience. It is only a gravel parking lot - no trees or other shade. Located next to a Love's where large trailers come and go all day and night. Some cable stations provided. Good for an overnite stay, but recently raised rates at Good Sams direction with no improvements to justify a price increase. Not worth the new price, although I was able to get a military discount. Will try to find another location for my next trip. Will not join Good Sams and intend to avoid their parks due to their manipulation of pricing. Have stayed at better parks for much less. We camped at Mountain Road RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
