Jordan Lake SRA/Parkers Creek Campground, Apex, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Parkers Creek was a well maintained area of this large state recreation area. We stayed in loop #3. The weekend was a quiet one and found us with only a few of the surrounding sites occupied. Most of the waterfront sites in the park are non-electric. The sites are first come first serve unless you have reserved for over a week. The campground was extremely quiet and we were excited to see and hear bald eagles. The sites were very level side to side and access was effortless. Your pass while staying offers you access to the other areas of the park. We visited all of the other areas and found that Parkers Creek seemed to have the least amount of hills which is better for five-year-olds riding bicycles. You have access to several clean swim beaches with good sand for castles and playgrounds. The only downfall I found was the bath houses left a little to be desired. Only one out of four showers had hot water and there was no place to sit or put things on. Bring your boat, canoe or kayak, this is a great place to get on the water. When we visit again we will head straight to Parkers Creek. We camped at Jordan Lake SRA/Parkers Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.
