Buckhorn Lake Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two nights here during Blue Bonnet season. Very nice. Super clean. Staff was really nice. Even check to see if our site was empty so we could arrive early. We had a back in site in the adult section. Very quiet. WiFi was good but standard RV park speeds. Workable Verizon. We had a very nice site with concrete pad and patio, nice table and chairs. Great paved interior roads. Bathhouse and pool was immaculate. There is tons of grass and open areas. Laundry and clubhouses. Only complaint was the water pressure could be higher. Wonderful place. Well deserving of being called a resort. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Fredericksburg RV Park, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean well maintained site. Paved interior roads. Gravel sites. Small patio with picnic table. Good utilities. WiFi was like most parks, good connectivity but very slow bandwidth. Good Verizon coverage. Most sites had trees. The sites are pretty close together, bu still enough space for some privacy. We have double slides and plenty of room for them. Room for our toad at our site. Very nice showers/restrooms. They even raked the gravel site in preparation for your arrival. Very convenient location in Fredericksburg. Easy in and out with a big rig. We camped at Fredericksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort, Lajitas, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is the only place I would stay visiting Big Bend. The interior roads are paved, the sites level, and a paved pad. Good utilities. Large sites, most are pull through. Outstanding facilities, clubhouse, beautiful pool, laundry. There has been a lot of money put into this resort. We stayed here to see Big Bend. It is a little bit of a drive, but well worth it. Especially after we saw all the other options in the area. Now there is dust, but that is part of the area. The sites don't have much if any grass. There are picnic tables and a patio. The park is adamant about dark skies and it is well worth it. The stars are magnificent. Don't let the 20 miles to the west entrance bother you. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Motorhome.

MacMillen RV Park, Fort Davis, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We were looking for a place to overnight so we could see the Fort Davis site. This park worked perfectly for us. It is nothing spectacular but the folks were very nice and helpful, and it suited our basic needs. It was hot when we got in, so very thankful for the electric hookup so we could use the roof air. Roomy spots, shaded picnic table, level site. Dirt and gravel with some grass around site. Dusty. WiFi was ok, but not great. We had Verizon service. But after seeing the other parks in the area, glad we chose this one. They only take cash or checks. We camped at MacMillen RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cliffside RV Park (Military FamCamp), Oak Harbor, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Wow, great park. If you have heard of this lark, all the reviews are the same! We were in the south loop. Nice back-in site. There are sites with a clear ocean view, ours was a partial one. Good utilities. No cable. Good Verizon coverage. WiFi was strong and usable. Our site was a concrete pad very level. The host spend his own time planting flowerbeds around the park. Really made it look nice. Nice beach to walk. Commissary and NEX are on the other side of the base. Use the porter gate to get in. We will be back. We camped at Cliffside RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

We wanted hook-ups and close to the park. This park worked perfect for our needs. Tons of sites. We had a delux pull through. Pad and patio were level, sites are on a slope. The interior roads are narrow, but navigable. Utilities were fine but very low water pressure, 25psi. Cable was functional. Trees at some sites might affect satellite reception. WiFi was easy to connect to but useless. Speeds are too slow for anything. Good Verizon coverage. It was a nice quiet campground especially for its size. Lots of trees to provide some shade. About a 10minute drive to town and the west entrance to the park. We did not use any of the recreational facilities. Nice staff, big laundry and small camp store. Overall the facilities are a little dated, but functional. Would stay here again. We camped at Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA in a Motorhome.

Rocky Mountain RV Park, Gardiner, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We spent a week here to explore the north parts of Yellowstone. It is a perfect location, walking distance to town and 5 min to the northeast entrance. We had a deluxe site. Ours had a good amount of room. But others in our row did not always. Sit fit our 34' MH just fine. Saw some bigger units as well. There was separate parking for our toad, but it was only about 10 yards away. Good utilities. Not so good WiFi. Easy to connect but very weak speeds. Outstanding and friendly staff. Pet area is small but functional. There are some sites with good views, it most are normal views. There are two levels. I thought the lower level spots were very close together but had some of the better views. Good Verizon coverage. Elk walking around in the evenings. Nice big laundry facility. We would stay here again. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Holiday Park FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Joint Base Lewis McChord AF, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We were looking for a spot in the Seattle area and they were tough to find. We looked at the reviews of all three famcamps at Jpint Base Lewis McChord. This seemed the best. The reviews are pretty limited and old, so thought it was time to update them. First, the directions worked perfectly and got us to the main gate at McChord Field. We made it through the gate with no problem in our 35' Class A Motorhome with a toad. Talking with others here, they did as well. So do not worry about getting in. There are two lanes and no barriers. They do curve, but not an issue. Plenty of room to get through the gate. Just follow the directions on this page and no problem Next, the setting is tall ones and forested. Very pretty and a break from the urbaness of the surrounding city. That said, the roads are somewhat narrow but very navigatable. They seem to put all the bigger rigs in the FHU upper loop, sites 20-37. These are all back in sites. Not very level. We had to use blocks under the tires and jacks. Many of the sites have rear sewer that is up hill! Kind of a pain but very workable with some patience. There are lots of trees, but we and others we spoke with had no issues with needing to trim. The sites looked like they had been tended for foliage. Each site has a picnic table and grill. There is very limited connectivity in the upper loop. No way you will get any satellite with all the trees. There is no cable. We did get some local OTA channels, but not all the major ones. Some sites might be better than others. We had good usable Verizon coverage for both voice and data. Their wi-if is pretty much useless. You can only get it at the office, where the router is, and sometimes at the clubhouse, which is nearby. We have a WiFi booster and could not even pick it up. There are no repeaters in the Park, and the bandwidth up and don is in the single digits. Not an issue if you are here just camping. We camped at Holiday Park FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Sea Perch RV Resort, Yachats, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Not many choices along the central OR coast if you have a big rig. Ours is only 35ft, but we still had trouble. Were looking for a full hook-up. Sea Perch was a very nice place. Clean, owner and the staff were very good and friendly. The site was clean, big and level. Plenty of room for our rig and toad. The park is right on the ocean with a beach. There are hand full of spaces right on the the beach the rest are along the sides. They are all back-in sites. Ours was called an Ocean View, but that was stretching it quite a bit. You need a site in the low 20s to get a view. The park is right next to the highway and if you are in one of the higher sites near the office, you will hear the highway noise. Otherwise, you hear the ocean and the waves crashing which is much better. There is a very nice club house and they offer a very Saturday night social. It was fun to meet the other RVers. I was very disappointed in the WiFi. Very slow speeds and almost no upload capability. You will have little to no cellphone coverage as well. They have cable, but it was grainy and static and not usable. Restrooms were very clean and laundry was nice, but a little high. It is tight getting around in and out of your space, but manageable and not an issue. Overall, it was a very nice, clean place, right on the beach. You are paying for the location! We felt that $75 was pretty high given the lack of other services. We camped at Sea Perch RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Mill Casino RV Park, North Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week for a motor coach rally. We had a 2nd row pull-through site. It was very nice, good solid hook-ups, all paved with small shrubs separating the sites. Plenty of distance between the sites. We arrived a day prior to the start of our reservation and we had to day in dry camping, which is basically just a big gravel parking lot. Well kept, cut still gravel. They charge $20 for a dry site, but give you access to all the facilities like bathrooms, shower, laundry wi-fi etc, so that seems like a fair deal. Our FHU site was clean. Good Wi-Fi and good Verizon coverage. The casino is walking distance, if that is your thing. Or. you can take the free shuttle. In fact, the casino shuttle will take you into town and pick you up as well. Very nice laundry and shower house. Some of the sites are water front, but to be honest, it is just looking at the inland bay and there is a lot of walking pet traffic in front. I recommend saving a fee $ and take a second row site, we could see the water just fine. Great place to ex-plore the middle south Oregon coast. We would stay here again. We camped at The Mill Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

Seven Feathers RV Resort, Canyonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 2 nights on our way to the Oregon coast. We wanted to see Crater Lake, and this looked like a good spot. They were very accommodating as we got closer to our stay and modified our reservations at no cost. We had reservations with our Good Sam, but got a better discount with a Players Card. Before you check-in, stop by the casino and sign-up for a Players Card. Saved us about 15% more than Good Sam. Our site was a back in with lots of shade and privacy. We were in the far loop furthest and it was very quiet and peaceful, even on a full weekend. Good Verizon, did not try our Satellite, but saw lots of them up, so must be fine. Also depends on if you are in the main loop. Looked like all the pull-throughs must have gotten a good signal. The restroom/showers are individual rooms with lots of privacy, very clean and well kept. There is grass at each site and a picnic table. There is a free shuttle to/from the casino. Just call them and they pick-up/drop-off at your site. They have a good fuel stop and you get an additional 3 cents off with your players card. We camped at Seven Feathers RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Bordertown Casino RV Resort, Reno, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as an overnight on our way from Las Vegas to Canyonville, OR. We wanted an easy access park with pull-throughs and good safe power, as it was very hot. This park was perfect. Our site 20, was very clean, big enough for our 35' MH and our towed still connected. The spots all had nice grass areas, patios and picnic areas. Great Wi-Fi and Verizon coverage. There was some shade from trees as the sites. The pictures on their web page accurately reflect the sites. The sites are pretty close, but enough room for our slide-outs and patio awning with room to spare. Casino was nothing to jump at, but hey, we were there for an overnight, nota gambling holiday. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. We camped at Bordertown Casino RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Desert Eagle RV Park (Military FamCamp), Nellis AFB, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night as just an overnight on our way north. It was hot on the way up and hot there. We arrived around 4:30pm to 120 degrees! I say this not to complain, but to set the stage for the great visit we had. We were having roof Air issues on our coach, and the hosts put us in a site that was almost completely shaded. The hosts were super friending and connected us with a great Mobile RV repair service who called us back and trouble shot our roof air issue over the phone. We were even offered cold bags of ice. But back to the park. Our site was #63, a back-in, very level, easy to get into with convenient towed vehicle parking. The site was very clean and had some grass and a picnic table. Good electricity. The wifi connected very easy and the internet was speedy and perfect for e-mail and web browsing. We did not try any satellite. We had good version reception. We had ready about cleanliness and bathroom issues but we thought they were very clean and well kept. There is a very nice office with computers, tables and relaxing chairs. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. We camped at Desert Eagle RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Manor RV Park, Estes Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

First off, this is Estes Park. The rates are ridiculously high outside the park, but that is where you will have to go if you want any kind of hook-up. Second, all the parks are showing their age. Most are gravel parking lots. This park was good for what we used it for. A place to park the Motorhome with hook-ups and stay warm in the fall. The sites are pretty tight and there is not a lot of aesthetics. We had a river site, which I recommend, as they have more space. It is tight getting in and out, but doable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All the facilities are dated and showing their age, but the wi-fi was pretty good for basic stuff and the cell reception with Verizon was fine. You will probably need block to level your camper, depending on the site. If you compare this to RV parks in general, it is old but functional. If you compare it to what is available in Estes Park, this is probably one of the better ones. The location is perfect for RMNP. We camped at Manor RV Park in a Motorhome.
