Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay. West Texas is HOT in Aug! While we usually just stay in a rest area or truckstop, we need to run some AC. Looked for a safe, clean place to overnight and hook-up to reliable 50amp power. Based on reviews, we picked this place, Fort Stockton RV Park. We were glad we did. We called ahead to make a same day reservation and they answered the phone immediately, took down our info and wrote us down. The office was open till 8:00, we got there around 5:oo. Very helpful and nice staff. There is a section with longer term folks, but the section with more trees, shade and grass is for us transients. There are a lot of pull-through sites, more than enough room for our 35' MH and toad. We did not unhook. The sites are gravel, level, with a concrete patio and picnic table. Trees are tall enough to cast some shade in the later afternoon. Electricity was steady and reliable, both ACs ran most all evening and night. Did not hook up water or sewer, but had both at site with convenient location. We were in one of the front row spots. Very convenient for our early morning departure. Was kind of worried about road noise and dust. There was none. The WiFi was as good or better than any we have ever used at an RV park. Good Verizon coverage as well. There is a nice, clean pool to cool off in and a nice big dog run. Get off I-10 on Exit 264 and follow the signs. We will use this every time we need to overnight along I-10. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Catherine State Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice state park and campground. Yes, the road in, Hwy 171, from I-30 is narrow, but very passable. Worked just fine with our 35' MH. Check in at the visitor center first. We unhooked our toad there. You could also unhook your toad at the nature trail parking lot just inside the park boundary before the visitor center. We were in the lower part of C loop. Very level site, back-in, on the lake. Good power, water and sewer. Nice clean bathroom and showers. Good Verizon coverage. Not all sites will pick up sat tv. Roomy site with a picnic table, fire ring and grill. Some sites had elevated patios. Very helpful and nice staff. It is about 15 min into Hot Springs. We camped at Lake Catherine State Park in a Motorhome.

Downstream RV Park, Quapaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We needed a place to overnight in the 95 degree heat of August. Wanted some 50 amp access. This is a casino RV park. There are actually two of them. One by the Casino and one by the Q Store. There is a shuttle that will come right to your site and take you to the store or casino or hotel or golf course. It is free for one night if you join their players club (free to join). They have 20, 30 and 50 amp and water and a dump station. Go to your site, set up, find the number. Then go to the casino and get a players card. Then go register. Free for one night. Clean with some road noise. Very easy to get to. It is essentially a concrete parking lot with marked spots and hook-ups. Perfect spot for us. Be sure and get a players card for a free night. If your spouse also gets one, you can get two free nights. We camped at Downstream RV Park in a Motorhome.

Worlds of Fun Village, Kansas City, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We were visiting family in the Kansas City area in August. Anyone that has been there knows, you must run you AC that time of year. We looked for a clean, safe, place close to the city. Worlds of Fun Village was perfect. Very Clean, nice staff, good price, great facilities. There are about 100 spots. Many pull-throughs and some back-ins. We were in a pull-through with plenty of room for ur 35' DP and toad. The park is on a hill, they have leveled out the sites with concrete pads, nice grass areas, a picnic table and grill. There are a couple trees that provide a minimal amount of shade. You are close, but not on top of each other. It was much more quiet than I thought it would be at an amusement park. There are back-is next to the road and close to the freeway that are noisier. The Verizon was fine. Their WiFi was really pretty good. There is a very nice pool with life guard, nice laundry. The bathrooms and showers are clean but small. It is very easy to get too. Get off I-435 at the Oceans of Fun exit and follow the signs to Worlds of Fun Village. We will definitely use this as our base for our many anticipated return visits to the KC area. We camped at Worlds of Fun Village in a Motorhome.

Twin Fountains RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped her for an overnight. Was 100 degrees and wanted some 50amp service:). Very nice park. Took our nextday reservations without any issues. Had a nice pull through we did not need to unhook our toad. Not all sites would allow this, so be sure and confirm when you book. There are a ton of amenities here. Access is pretty straightforward off either I-44 or I-35. I recommend the I-44 route though. Be sure and ask the staff for directions. The path to the registration desk is to follow the yellow arrows. Ten once you check in, someone will escort you to your site. Was disappointed in the internet. Wifi was good, but not enough bandwidth to even to e-mail. Very clean. There was some road noise, but not that noticeable. Our one complaint was the bird noise. There are tons of birds living in the trees, chirping loudly all night. Could not leave the windows open. Overall a good stay, just what we needed. Would stay here again. We camped at Twin Fountains RV Park in a Motorhome.

Isleta Lakes & RV Park, Isleta Pueblo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We needed a place to overnight with electricity for the AC. Also looking for something not to far from the Interstate. This seemed like a good place, had decent reviews, so we stopped in. Glad we did. Nice, clean, helpful. Spacious sites, nice picnic tables and armadas over them. Even have grills. All the sites are pull-through, so we did not have to unhook the toad. There is minimal shade. Most sites have a tree, it is all about getting in its shade:). The interior roads, sites and pads are gravel and rock. The wi-fi was top notch, the Verizon coverage was good. And you can not beat the price in the heat of the summer. There is a train crossing near-by and you can hear the commuter trains some, but it seems to end in the evening. Turned out to be just what we were looking for as an overnight stay with hook-ups. We camped at Isleta Lakes & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Buckhorn Lake Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two nights here during Blue Bonnet season. Very nice. Super clean. Staff was really nice. Even check to see if our site was empty so we could arrive early. We had a back in site in the adult section. Very quiet. WiFi was good but standard RV park speeds. Workable Verizon. We had a very nice site with concrete pad and patio, nice table and chairs. Great paved interior roads. Bathhouse and pool was immaculate. There is tons of grass and open areas. Laundry and clubhouses. Only complaint was the water pressure could be higher. Wonderful place. Well deserving of being called a resort. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Fredericksburg RV Park, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean well maintained site. Paved interior roads. Gravel sites. Small patio with picnic table. Good utilities. WiFi was like most parks, good connectivity but very slow bandwidth. Good Verizon coverage. Most sites had trees. The sites are pretty close together, bu still enough space for some privacy. We have double slides and plenty of room for them. Room for our toad at our site. Very nice showers/restrooms. They even raked the gravel site in preparation for your arrival. Very convenient location in Fredericksburg. Easy in and out with a big rig. We camped at Fredericksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort, Lajitas, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is the only place I would stay visiting Big Bend. The interior roads are paved, the sites level, and a paved pad. Good utilities. Large sites, most are pull through. Outstanding facilities, clubhouse, beautiful pool, laundry. There has been a lot of money put into this resort. We stayed here to see Big Bend. It is a little bit of a drive, but well worth it. Especially after we saw all the other options in the area. Now there is dust, but that is part of the area. The sites don't have much if any grass. There are picnic tables and a patio. The park is adamant about dark skies and it is well worth it. The stars are magnificent. Don't let the 20 miles to the west entrance bother you. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Motorhome.

MacMillen RV Park, Fort Davis, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We were looking for a place to overnight so we could see the Fort Davis site. This park worked perfectly for us. It is nothing spectacular but the folks were very nice and helpful, and it suited our basic needs. It was hot when we got in, so very thankful for the electric hookup so we could use the roof air. Roomy spots, shaded picnic table, level site. Dirt and gravel with some grass around site. Dusty. WiFi was ok, but not great. We had Verizon service. But after seeing the other parks in the area, glad we chose this one. They only take cash or checks. We camped at MacMillen RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Wow, great park. If you have heard of this lark, all the reviews are the same! We were in the south loop. Nice back-in site. There are sites with a clear ocean view, ours was a partial one. Good utilities. No cable. Good Verizon coverage. WiFi was strong and usable. Our site was a concrete pad very level. The host spend his own time planting flowerbeds around the park. Really made it look nice. Nice beach to walk. Commissary and NEX are on the other side of the base. Use the porter gate to get in. We will be back. Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

We wanted hook-ups and close to the park. This park worked perfect for our needs. Tons of sites. We had a delux pull through. Pad and patio were level, sites are on a slope. The interior roads are narrow, but navigable. Utilities were fine but very low water pressure, 25psi. Cable was functional. Trees at some sites might affect satellite reception. WiFi was easy to connect to but useless. Speeds are too slow for anything. Good Verizon coverage. It was a nice quiet campground especially for its size. Lots of trees to provide some shade. About a 10minute drive to town and the west entrance to the park. We did not use any of the recreational facilities. Nice staff, big laundry and small camp store. Overall the facilities are a little dated, but functional. Would stay here again. We camped at Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA in a Motorhome.

Rocky Mountain RV Park, Gardiner, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We spent a week here to explore the north parts of Yellowstone. It is a perfect location, walking distance to town and 5 min to the northeast entrance. We had a deluxe site. Ours had a good amount of room. But others in our row did not always. Sit fit our 34' MH just fine. Saw some bigger units as well. There was separate parking for our toad, but it was only about 10 yards away. Good utilities. Not so good WiFi. Easy to connect but very weak speeds. Outstanding and friendly staff. Pet area is small but functional. There are some sites with good views, it most are normal views. There are two levels. I thought the lower level spots were very close together but had some of the better views. Good Verizon coverage. Elk walking around in the evenings. Nice big laundry facility. We would stay here again. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Holiday Park FamCamp (Military FamCamp), Joint Base Lewis McChord AF, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We were looking for a spot in the Seattle area and they were tough to find. We looked at the reviews of all three famcamps at Jpint Base Lewis McChord. This seemed the best. The reviews are pretty limited and old, so thought it was time to update them. First, the directions worked perfectly and got us to the main gate at McChord Field. We made it through the gate with no problem in our 35' Class A Motorhome with a toad. Talking with others here, they did as well. So do not worry about getting in. There are two lanes and no barriers. They do curve, but not an issue. Plenty of room to get through the gate. Just follow the directions on this page and no problem Next, the setting is tall ones and forested. Very pretty and a break from the urbaness of the surrounding city. That said, the roads are somewhat narrow but very navigatable. They seem to put all the bigger rigs in the FHU upper loop, sites 20-37. These are all back in sites. Not very level. We had to use blocks under the tires and jacks. Many of the sites have rear sewer that is up hill! Kind of a pain but very workable with some patience. There are lots of trees, but we and others we spoke with had no issues with needing to trim. The sites looked like they had been tended for foliage. Each site has a picnic table and grill. There is very limited connectivity in the upper loop. No way you will get any satellite with all the trees. There is no cable. We did get some local OTA channels, but not all the major ones. Some sites might be better than others. We had good usable Verizon coverage for both voice and data. Their wi-if is pretty much useless. You can only get it at the office, where the router is, and sometimes at the clubhouse, which is nearby. We have a WiFi booster and could not even pick it up. There are no repeaters in the Park, and the bandwidth up and don is in the single digits. Not an issue if you are here just camping. We camped at Holiday Park FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.
