Leo Carrillo State Beach, Malibu, California

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This State run campground is directly across highway 101, with beach access reached via the 101 underpass. The beach is great for surfing or just enjoying the sun. It used to be a beautiful place to camp, but thanks to your tax dollars at work, it's restrooms are seldom cleaned, the rules are not enforced and the campsites are a mess. They are left with trash, garbage and discarded personal items. There is an attendant checking you in, but expect nothing after that, not even a smile. Even the parking lot is dirty with trash cans that are either overflowing or non-existent. If you insist on staying here, the sites farther from the beach are much warmer than the ones at the front, and there is a small privately owned store within the campground that is the cleanest place in the park. We camped at Leo Carrillo State Beach in a Travel Trailer.
