Mar-Brook Campground, Gas City, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The gentlemen that checked me in and lead us to our spot in a golf cart was friendly. The park however, is in need of maintenance and attention. There are approximately 100 seasonal units in the park, some of which are quite old and in fairly bad shape. They have wifi and it is useable, but about what I've come to expect in most campgrounds. The worst problem is the horrific noise from Interstate 69 that is immediately adjacent to the campground. I could probably live with most of the shortcomings, but the noise would prevent me from staying again. One night was enough. We camped at Mar-Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

Hermann City Park Campground, Hermann, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The Hermann Missouri City Park is a pretty little park near their swimming pool. I've stayed there at least twice before and always enjoyed it. This time I made reservations without giving it a thought. Obviously things had changed since my last time there a few years ago. It was FULL and for $30.00 we were parked on an asphalt parking lot. Granted we had water and electric, but barely had room to put out our awning. I was extremely disappointed and will likely not stay there again. Too bad, we loved it as a small city park with shaded sites. One other comment, cell phone service with Verizon was nearly non-existent. We camped at Hermann City Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Several nice wineries in the area. Lots of history dating from the first half of the 1800's. Visit the cemetery to see view and old stones inscribed in German. The city was founded by the German Settlement Society in 1837. A leader, George Bayer, became disliked because of many hardships so that when he died in 1839, he was buried by himself in the far corner of the cemetery. The cemetery and his grave are worth seeing.

Yampa River State Park (Headquarters Campground), Hayden, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We loved the quiet relaxed location with beautiful morning and evening views of the mountains. Our site was shaded by aspen trees. There is a little bit of highway noise from US 40, but not enough to be objectionable. Definitely recommend this park. Very friendly hosts. We camped at Yampa River State Park (Headquarters Campground) in a Motorhome.
