Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Bare bones. Very large sites - parked on a big grass field - no trees, no patios, etc. Not crowded due to flooding, so very spacious sites. Gravel roads. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Orlando Winter Garden Campground Resort, Winter Garden, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is an old worn out KOA. Restrooms were not dirty but very unappealing - updated at some point in a cheap and unprofessional manner. Staff was excellent. Was given a choice of sites, none overly appealing. A lot of trees and grass in park, but grass is mud/sand by rv, so have to use mats. A lot of permanent, but neat and peaceful. Close to a lot of services. We camped at Orlando Winter Garden Campground Resort in a Motorhome.

Tropical Palms Resort, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was in the back, was fairly spacious with nobody to the rear, but the people before had mats out, thus no grass - just sand for about 15 x 35 feet. Ugh! However, the grounds are beautiful and the place is quiet. We camped at Tropical Palms Resort in a Motorhome.

Whispering Palms RV Resort (55+ park), Sebastian, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds were clean and the buildings nicely painted. The restrooms were clean and appealing. The pool area was closed but looked okay. This is a 55+ community of mostly manufactured homes - most people gone for the season. Ours was a pull-thru site that was extremely narrow, but we were able to get into it in spite of units on both sides of us. No room on our site for our tow dolly, but they let us put it in an open site behind us. The sites face a 4 lane highway with only some low bushes and a couple of trees for a buffer. However, I preferred this to staring at the back of another RV and did not mind the noise. The train noise from the rear of the park did not bother us either (no whistles). My main concern was that even though the site has a patio almost as long as the RV what should be grass is all weeds and sand - very hard to keep the sand and tiny stones out of our RV. And the sewer hook-up for the site next door is just feet from our door (they left after the 1st of 3 days - so only had to be greeted by their bright orange sewer hose for one day). Garbage and recycling was convenient. We would stay here again if we had to be in the area, but only if we got the PA discount. We camped at Whispering Palms RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Check-out the Rock City Garden - a business down the road (5 minutes to the south) that sells plants and landscaping services. It is stunningly beautiful - better views than many botanical gardens I have been to!

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice resort - excellent resort type amenities. Great rate with Passport America. Across the street from the Indian River and short drive across causewsycto beaches. Cute touristctown of Jensen Beach a couple of blocks away. Train runs behind the park st night and does sound horn - may bother some people. We camped at Ocean Breeze Resort in a Motorhome.

Paradise Island RV Resort, Oakland Park, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Kind of a worn out and crowded park. A lot of permanent sites, but many are cared for. Does not feel like a resort. But very helpful, friendly staff. Nice pool. Clean restrooms and friendly people. Quiet. We got an okay site across from office. Good value with Passport America. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Paradise Island RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Miami Everglades RV Resort, Miami, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Good front office customer service. A lot of amenities - pool, miniature golf and very nice walking trail. Roadways are narrow, thus your view from front window is the RV across the way. Sites are fairly wide, however, the people next door had so many cars that they parked in front of our RV (on our site). Low rating is due to large patch - 10 x 20 feet of dirt and mud instead of grass where a patio should be. They need to install concrete patio and not allow grass killing mats. We camped at Miami Everglades RV Resort in a Motorhome.

San Carlos RV Park & Island Resort, Fort Myers Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

There was confusion over our site #, so they upgraded us to a better spot for no additional charge. Sites are close together, but park was not crowded, thus not an issue. Great views of water and canal. Very close to the beaches - we rode our bikes over the causeway. Great customer service. We camped at San Carlos RV Park & Island Resort in a Motorhome.

Baton Rouge KOA, Denham Springs, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

As previous reviews stated, the owners are very nice - she took our phone order and he took us to our site - both very friendly and welcoming. The work camper who checked us in was neither. First the good: the pool area, playground and dog park all looked very nice. The laundry was not enclosed - not so nice. The miniature golf was old and worn out. The restrooms were outdated, only two stalls to serve the central and rear of the campground, but were clean. The sites were in bad shape - it was like living in a gravel pit for three days. The guy who took us to our site told us that they were getting rid of the grass and the trees. The very crowded sites have dead tree trunks, grey crushed gravel (that is not raked or kept neat) where grass once was and heavily cracked cement slabs for the RV. Called pull-thru, but the sewer is at the extreme back of site, so must disconnect and park car in front to reach sewer. Very overpriced for what they offer and this is not a premium destination site. We camped at Baton Rouge KOA in a Motorhome.

USA RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Customer service was excellent, but this is basically just a big (overpriced) parking lot under a busy freeway exchange. The "pond" is a water retention basin, but has a nice paved walking trail around it and nice landscaping at all 4 corners. The paved double wide sites have only a narrow 3 foot space of grass between them, thus the large pick-up truck (parked side by side with his its trailer) in the next site was 2 feet away from our slide. The pool area looked very nice, but the dog park had grass that was way too long and no place for the dog owner to sit. No trees or landscaping at any sites. The roads are all paved, wide and easy to navigate. There was a water main break and later our septic was full, so we had to move to another site to dump - but we were grateful for the extreme attentiveness of the staff - very helpful - top notch! We camped at USA RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Buffalo Bayou Bike Trail in DT Houston is very nice - well paved and great views! Galvaston Island (a 35 minute drive) has great bike ride along the seawall, but also check out the beautiful historic homes and neighborhoods - awesome!

Travelers World RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. The roads are wide and paved. The sites are loose stone (not dusty gravel), have patios, very nice grassy areas (the entire length of the site) and some trees or bushes. In general, the park is very well maintained. Restrooms are very nice. Nice pool and workout room. Dog park is nice too - has astro-turf, but clean and has some shade. The park is adjacent to the Riverwalk bike/waking trail that goes all the way to DT San Antonio. Clean, quiet, safe. We camped at Travelers World RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Austin Lone Star RV Resort, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The roads in the park are very narrow - packed in - the only view from the front is the back of the unit across from you - can't even see the narrow road. Our site did have a grassy area next to it, but many had only gravel. No patio. The restrooms were nice and clean. A worker escorted us to our site, but tried (unsuccessfully) to insist that he could only give instructions to my husband (b/c he happened to be driving) - a 10 minute directive that could have been covered in 2 minutes! The pool was in front - on the frontage road - loud. The rest of the park was quiet and felt safe. We camped at Austin Lone Star RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Riverview Campground, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Where we were parked the sites are long, but very narrow - very close together - no room for even a picnic table. There are concrete pads for the RV, but then just muddy grass - fortunately the mud was dry when we were there. The bathroom is very unappealing! I would advise to check out other places first, but this should be adequate for a short (day or two) stay. They only accept cash and do not send out confirmations. We camped at Riverview Campground in a Motorhome.

We were in kind of an odd spot but the park has a wide assortment of spots - some are very nice. It was a good value for the money and VERY close to everything. A suburban neighborhood complete with shopping is within minutes of the RV park. The pool was not open and we did not use the restrooms. We camped at Treetops RV Resort in a Motorhome.
