Snowy Peaks RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

We were late and had to stay in their 'Luxury Spot'....truly outstanding. A bit expensive but it had a wooden deck, a gas Bar-BQ and a lovely grass yard with a huge tree. Most lots have nice grass...The park has gravel roads so there is a bit of a dust problem. Some road noise with windows open but the road is not a major road... The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The Office has some basic supplies, like a micro 7-11...It is very close to the Arkansas River but no immediate access. Minimal Wi Fi...Would stay again (at the same expensive site :) ). We camped at Snowy Peaks RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

THIS IS LOCATED IN ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PARTS OF COLORADO, ALONG THE ARKANSAS RIVER. KNOWN AS THE SWITZERLAND OF COLORADO THIS VALLEY IS HOME TO SEVERAL OF THE HIGHEST MOUNTAINS IN THE US (14,400 FT IS THE HIGHTEST). ALSO, THE MT. PRINCETON HOT SPRINGS IS NEAR BY AND IS A 'MUST'. THE PARK IS VERY EASY ACCESS OFF OF THE LITTLE HIGHWAY. NO INTERSTATE NOISE!! Only a couple of miles north of buena vista where there is abundant shopping...

Whip In RV Park, Big Spring, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We just a quick overnight stay. Park is very accessable but interstate noise could be an issue on some lots. The 'overnight' lots are very skinney but close to facilities. Gravel sites that were very level. Wi-Fi was acceptable.. Quite a few of old, permanent 'travel trailers' giving the park a somewhat shabby look. However, the manager was delightful and very accomodating and I would recommend it for a quick overnighter because of that.. Many lots are long enough so as not to have to unhook tow vehicle. We camped at Whip In RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nestled in the redwood forests, this is the quietest park we have ever stayed in. The RV park is acutally on the Avenue of the Giants. The spaces are large and easy to navigate. The owner is on-site and is superhelpful (and he has a tremendous gift shop; his family has owned the site for over 50 years). Small grocery stores within few miles; biggest town is Fortuna, about 20 minutes away. The major redwood attractions are within 10 to 20 minutes from the park, including the Giant Redwood tree (biggest tree in the world). Highly recommend this RV Park! We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The on-site WiFi was good but there is no cell coverage. One has to go up the road about 7 minutes to get to a good spot.

Sea Perch RV Resort, Yachats, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

The park has 6 spaces right on the beach; they are awesome. There are 4 other spaces that have fantastic views of the beach/ocean and are about 150 yards from the beach, which is where we stayed (highly recommended; spaces 12-14. The rest of the spaces are close to the beach but do not have a beach view. There are on-site managers and on-site maintenance people (fellow travelers). The entire park is spotless. They have a phenomenal "Club House" where the laundry and bathrooms are but it also has a well equipped fitness room, pool (table) room and TV room. It also has a upstairs beach-viewing room which is incredible when you want to watch a storm. All sites are concrete, and are wide and deep enough to park your towing vehicle. BOOK IT!! We camped at Sea Perch RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Their WiFi is quite strong but there is no cell coverage in the area. They do provide a private phone room in the Club House if you need to make phone calls. Staying right on the beach can be windy during storms, plus those spaces are $10/night more. Spaces 12-14 are the best...

Oregon Trail Campground, Twin Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

On site owners are great; very helpful. They take care of everything. The location is close to town and far enough from the highway so noise is not an issue. They have 4 brand new Whirlpool Washers and 4 Whirlpool dryers. We camped at Oregon Trail Campground in a Motorhome.
