Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA, Jonestown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Our favorite overnight stop when traveling to and from the East coast. Convenient location. We can usually find a site although it was really packed this weekend. Some sites are tight but most including ours are great. Bushes in between sites. Patio. FHU. We camped at Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Buckeye Lake / Columbus East KOA, Buckeye Lake, Ohio

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Just an overnight stop while traveling through. Yes the sites are close but ours was on an end and was very nice. Water and electric, no sewer but dump station available. Halloween activities were in preparation and decorations looked nice. Seems like a fun family place. A little pricey but a lot to do there. We would return if in the area. We camped at Buckeye Lake / Columbus East KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Springfield KOA, Rochester, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped here to visit Lincoln sights and ended up staying 10 days for truck repairs. At first it seemed far from the highway and city but after a bit it feels quiet and peaceful. An oasis. It was off season so nothing much going on but that was OK. Nice staff, helpful with suggestions and directions. Allowed us to stay with no end date in mind while waiting on truck repairs. Sites were a good size with grass and trees. Not your typical KOA. It has FHU. The road to the campground is narrow and bumpy but very manageable. It feels like you are lost at first but follow the signs. No problems! We would would stay here again. We camped at Springfield KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lincoln home, museum and New Salem sites were great. If you should ever need towing services, Shaners in Decatur or truck services, Miles Chevrolet, or car rental Enterprise in Decatur. All were great to deal with.

Newton / Des Moines East KOA, Newton, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay, easy on and off I80. Pretty sites with grass and trees. Didn't use the bath house so I can't comment to that. It was raining so there was some mud but staff offered to move us if the site was too wet. It was fine considering the weather. Nice patio site with fire pit, chairs and picnic table. So the bad part is the highway. You can hear it and see it. Lots of trucks. With the windows shut and some white noise it wasn't too hard to sleep. Windows open the noise was annoying. Maybe we'd go back if traveling in the area. It's certainly convenient and we like KOA for that. Staff was nice. We camped at Newton / Des Moines East KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We overnighted here and waited out a thunderstorm. Our site was technically a back in but worked out as a pull thru with full hook ups. Water spigot was shared and in front of our trailer. So we needed our extra long hose. The sewer wasn't convenient for our set up either but there is a nicely set up dump station we used instead. The sites are somewhat close and the connections are close to the neighbors but for overnight it was perfect! The office monitors the weather for tornadoes and alerts guests to use the office for shelter. For us New Englanders we appreciated that. Staff was nice. We had Hunt Bros pizza delivered to our site and it was excellent! Site was level and shady. Right off the highway there was some truck noise but we've heard worse. A nice place, we would return if in the area. We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overnighted. Right off the highway. Escort to site. Didn't use any amenities so I can't comment. Trash cans at each site was nice. Seemed like there were a few folks who lived there for work in the area. Not a problem. We camped at Douglas KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

30 miles outside of Yellowstone with full hookups. Basically a gravel parking lot but still the space was fine. Nice views. Convenient location between the Park and the nearby town of Cody. No trees. A very small pool that wasn't open in September. Laundry room was fine. $2.00 each for wash and dry. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Best campground to visit Little Big Horn Battlefield. Close by. Friendly staff who were very helpful with directions and suggestions. Full hook ups but no cable. Nice shade trees. And they let you wash your rig if you're careful with the water! Beautiful sunset views. We would stay again if we were in the area. Oh yes there is a train nearby with many crossings and horn blasts, in case that bothers you but it wasn't a problem for us. Clean laundry room too! We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night on our trip. Campground is located right at the entrance to Devils Tower. Couldn't be more convenient! It had been raining a lot so there was a lot of mud and puddles but our site wasn't flooded. Clean bath house. Nice view of the tower from our site. Grill at site but no fire pits. Custer State Park - Blue Bell Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Loved staying here. Quiet and peaceful. We knew it was electric hookups only but didn't know there wasn't a dump station in the campground. The nearest is in another campground within the park but quite a distance from here. Also no dish washing station. Our site was a tad short for our 25 ft trailer but we were happy to get a site at all. Our fire pit and table were behind us which was odd but not a problem. Lots of space. Nice camp hosts. Beautiful park with buffalo, burros, deer and stunning views. We would stay here again! We camped at Custer State Park - Blue Bell Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Badlands / White River KOA, Interior, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 4 days to visit the Badlands and area. Beautiful place. Campground was perfect for us. Quiet Nice view of the fields. Shade trees. Nice bath house. Staff was nice too. We loved the location of our site but the sewer didn't line up well with our connection and it was too high to drain properly. I must say the mosquitos were pretty bad due to a wet season there. Not campgrounds fault obviously. We would return. We camped at Badlands / White River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Wisconsin Dells KOA, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend as we were traveling west. Very nice place. Great staff. Level site. Clean laundry room. Some sites are close. Interior roads can be tight and hilly but we managed fine since we came on a week day with fewer vehicles around. Close to downtown Wisconsin Dells area. There is a train that passes nearby but isn't too disturbing depending on where your site is located. We would return if we were in the area. We camped at Wisconsin Dells KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Sandusky / Bayshore KOA , Sandusky, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Overnighted here. A bit off the highway for us since we weren't coming to the area to vacation and were just passing through. Middle of the week in late August so it was pretty empty. Site are narrow and close but plenty long enough. Full hookups. Wooden patio with picnic table which was nice since it had just rained heavily. No mud! Be aware there are trains very close by. Loud trains. Train whistles. Mostly at night. We like trains a lot but it did keep us awake. My fault since I neglected to close the windows and turn on some white noise which probably would have helped. It's a good location if you're visiting the area. Nice staff. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Travel Trailer.
