Huntington / Fox Fire KOA, Milton, West Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Let me start with the best part, the owners. We got set up and turned on the AC and the power pole circuit breaker tripped. Went to the office to get this fixed. The manager cancelled a birthday dinner with his wife to fix my problem, then checked the next day to insure all was OK. The interior roads are gravel as are the sites. Our site was long and level We were led to the site, which I always appreciate. The water pressure was good. Trash is picked up from the site before 11:00 each day. The bad, This is a 40 year old park. The non-premium sites are nose to toes. Very little space between units. Because our space was so long our neighbor parked as far forward in his spot and we were the same. The result was, we could go out the door without stepping into his unit. Our site had no shade. What grass there was, was dead. Wi-Fi was not usable. We were able to use our Verizon MiFi Jetpack. If you are coming in from Milton the turn into the park, while well marked, is almost a 180 turn. We camped at Huntington / Fox Fire KOA in a Motorhome.

Witch Meadow Lake Family Campground, Salem, Connecticut

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Had I read the rules before I reserve my site, I would have stayed elsewhere. Check in is 3:00 PM. If you show up early there is a $30.00 fee for early arrivals. I arrived at 3:05 and the first thing the person in the office did when I checked in was to look at the clock. The park has no sewer at the sites. Lots of full time people. The park has a 5 mph speed limit, but do not be concerned. The roads are so bad, you can not go that fast anyway. Some of the worst I have seen. Our site was a back in that was fairly easy to get into despite the trees. On the plus side, the park has a lot of trees. The lake looked nice. Wi-Fi was very strong. The fire pit was well located. The site was long enough for the toad and the 40' motorhome. We will not stay there again We camped at Witch Meadow Lake Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Lums Pond State Park, Bear, Delaware

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest parks we have stayed in. Access is easy with good roads. Interior roads are wide and paved. All sites are back in and paved. Lots of trees. The park is well maintained and the staff is very nice. Large children's play area. Admission to the campground is also admission to the entire park. Only drawback is no Wi-Fi which we knew before we reserved. 3 bars on Verizon so no trouble streaming. I have given this park the best review I have ever given a park. If we are in the area we will stay again. We camped at Lums Pond State Park in a Motorhome.

Blueberry Pond Campground, Pownal, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

First of all, the park does not have 50 amp service. All sites are back in 30 amp service. If you use your AC you are requested to keep track of you time and pay $4 per day for electric on the honor system. The weather was cool so we did not use AC. The park is down a county road and the last mile is not paved. Wi-Fi worked well when we arrived, but as the park filled up it was useless. On the plus side, the people there are great. There was a potluck with the park supplying roast pig, which was great. The park is quiet, no road or train noise. Our spot was level and partly shaded. Two bars on Verizon gave us Wi-Fi streaming. We did no hiking out of concerns for ticks. We may stay there again, mostly due to the people who work there. We camped at Blueberry Pond Campground in a Motorhome.

Crow's Nest Campground, Newport, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the park for six days. Very family oriented. This is an older park. The one thing that bugged me was being nickle and dimed to death. Shower was 25 cents for eight minutes of water. Free Wi-Fi was not usable. Pay Wi-Fi is $1 per day per device. This service was adequate, but not great. The park charges $1 to pick up a package that you had sent to you at the park. The park speed limit is 5 mph and they have unneeded speed bumps. The reason the speed bumps are unneeded is there are so many potholes in the roads that driving over 5mph will shake you to death. The park has some trees, but not the spot we stayed in which was in the lower section. Our spot was a mix of gravel and grass. The site was a pull through, but we had to back out because there was not enough room to make a turn going forward. Many spots are seasonal. Verizon was two bars. We probably will not stay there again. We camped at Crow's Nest Campground in a Motorhome.

Miles City KOA, Miles City, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. It was easy to get in and out of our spot. We were guided in by an employee in a golf cart. The employees there are all great. The Cottonwood trees were in full bloom so lots of white floating around. The park has a lot of trees so shade was not an issue. The hook ups are well located and we had no problems. There is a pool that looked nice, but we did not use it. Only downside was the Wi-Fi was poor to unusable in the evenings. In the mornings it was OK. Four bars on Verizon so we were able to use our jetpack. We would stay here again. We camped at Miles City KOA in a Motorhome.

99 RV Park, Vancouver, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Based upon the park facilities and lack of amenities I would rate this park as a five or six, but the great manager ups the rating to a nine. We arrived a day earlier than our reservation due to a mix up by me. The manager found us a back-in spot. We had reserved pull through. After getting into our spot I asked if we could stay where we were. He did an initial check and said no, which was no big problem as that is what we had planned to do. Later in the day he called and said he had rearranged things and we could stay. This gave us an extra day for our exploring. Wi-Fi in the park is poor. Verizon is four bars. Water pressure is good. The park is clean, but no table, fire pit or any other amenity. We would stay here again. We camped at 99 RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sacora Station Campground, Piedmont, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a rustic older park with new owners who are slowly improving the park. The interior roads are a mix of asphalt and gravel. The park has some trees and our spot was partly shaded. Picnic table at each site, but no fire pit. The Wi-Fi is weak but usable as long as you do not want to stream. Our spot was gravel and relatively level. PA is now limited to three days instead of unlimited. Even without PA this park is a bargain and is just a few minutes from Rapid City and all its attractions. Verizon was four bars. In addition to RV sites the park has cabins for rent and lots of nice looking tent sites. We would stay here again. We camped at Sacora Station Campground in a Motorhome.

Air Capital RV Park, Wichita, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park located near I-35. The roads and sites are concrete. We had a back in site that sloped to the road. It was easy to get level. There was room at our site to park our toad next to the motorhome. Each site has a small patch of grass. Our the adjoining site utilities are located in the middle of the grass. There are no tables or chairs at any site. There is a small children's playground. There is a dog walking area, but not an off leash area. Wi-Fi was very good and we were able to stream. Verizon was five bars. There are several places to eat close by. It was a short drive to the grocery store. The management was great. Trash is picked up from the site each morning. We will stay here again if we are in the area. We camped at Air Capital RV Park in a Motorhome.

Leisure Landing RV Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We were lucky to get reservations for this park for the Memorial Day Weekend. The park is easy to find using a GPS. The last road to the park entrance is a little narrow. Once we were in we unhooked and backed into our site. No assistance was offered by the park. The sites were adequately sized packed gravel. Almost perfectly level. Hooks ups were all worked well and were well placed. There was room to park our toad and a small grass area with a picnic area. Wi-Fi was OK when we arrived, but by late afternoon it was no longer usable due to other traffic. We had five bars for Verizon. We would stay here again We camped at Leisure Landing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lincoln Parish Park, Ruston, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest parks we have ever stayed in. The staff is very friendly. The interior roads are asphalt and could use a little work. Most of the sites are concrete. Our site was a concret pull through that was on a small ridge. The utilities were in the middle of the site and connections were easy. Because we were on a small ridge, we could move to a spot that was almost perfectly level front to rear. The site had a slight slote to the passenger side. There was active construction in the park as sites are in the process of being upgraded. The park is on the banks of a river but up high enough so there is no danger of flooding. The park has Wi-Fi, but it was not connecting to the internet. I reported this to the office and the person said she would have the internet reset. That did not happen while we were there. Good Verizon reception. We will stay here again. We camped at Lincoln Parish Park in a Motorhome.

River Town Campground, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with great people working there. Roads and sites are gravel. There is grass at each site. Picnic tables could use a little tlc. We were assigned a pull through site with I like. However, when we got to the site we realized we had to unhook because the utilities were set so far back in the site. We parked as close to the rear of the site as we could, and still had to use 40 feet of sewer hose. To make matters worse, the site sloped to the front. This put the sewer connector higher than the sewer bay outlet. They say they have Wi-Fi. If it is there it is not useable. Verizon was five bars for our jetpack worked well. We camped at River Town Campground in a Motorhome.

RV Park USA, Comfort, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

An older but nice park. Some full time residents. Streets are paved. Spaces have packed gravel. The sewer outlet was too far back for us to use. Had we unhooked the toad we could have made it. Nice manager. Each space has a small srip of grass surrounded by a curb. There is a table at each site. The amount of space is adequate. The free Wi-Fi was the best I have ever seen in a park. Over 10 mbps download speed. Verizon showed four bars. Some highway noise. We would stay here again. We camped at RV Park USA in a Motorhome.

A Deming Roadrunner Rv Park, Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

OK park for an overnight stay. Basically, the park is a gravel parking lot. The spaces are level. Hookups are placed well. The spaces are fairly close together, but the pull throughs are long. The rate, using PA was great. Less than $14. It has two dog parks. We did not use any of the other facilities. Internet is horrible. On the infrequent occasion when it works it is very slow. Only two bars on Verizon. If we are in Deming again, we will probably try another park. We camped at A Deming Roadrunner Rv Park in a Motorhome.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The park is an old KOA located on the banks of the Llano River in Junction, TX. The park is hard to find as there is no sign at the entrance. The person on duty was helpful and led us to our site. The interior roads and sites are packed dirt. Our site was large and level. There was a covered patio area that was pave with cement pavers. There were two chairs and a picnic table with a fire pit next to the patio. All in all, very pleasant. The Wi-Fi was adequate, however, the park or the provider is censoring what you can connect to. Verizon cell showed zero bars. We will probably not stay again. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Motorhome.
