Hitchin' Post RV Park, Yoder, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is unattended and is good for an overnight stay. Convienent in and out with a good restaurant about two blocks away. You fill out a form and place your money in an envelope and you are done. They have full hookups and the utilities worked well. The internet was slow. We camped at Hitchin' Post RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

La Junta KOA, La Junta, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very poor KOA, basically just a hot gravel parking lot. The pool is being torn up and cannot be used. Okay for an overnight, I guess but we would probably look for another RV park if back in the area. La Junta doesn't have much going for it but about 8 miles out of town is a National Park site called Bent's Old Fort that we visited which I would recommend. The day we were there (in August) was hot and there were no workers to talk about the fort. We did the self guided tour. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park), Olathe, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a park that is for adults over 55 located in the small town of Olathe, Colorado. We were in site 4 with lots of shade which really helped in the hot days of August. It was quiet and we felt safe there. We were there during the height of sweet corn season, and the corn was some of the best we have ever eaten. There is a dairy about 2 miles west of Olathe that bottles their own milk and makes their own ice cream!! It was delicious . The town itself has a small grocery store and next door to it is a restaurant that has very good breakfast and lunch offerings. They close at 2pm. There were a few negatives. The park was infested with bugs (elm bugs we were told) that got into our fifth wheel. We had just a few but some people had quite a few. The concrete pads are cracking and some should be replaced. There is not much to do in town but Montrose is only 10 miles away with plenty of stores to shop in. We would stay here again if in the area; however, probably not in August. Even though Olathe is at 5000 foot elevation, this is a high desert area and gets quite hot. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Royal Gorge / Canon City KOA, Canon City, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night on our way to Olathe, Colorado. They tried to put us in site 10 but there was a tree with low limbs in the way. I asked for another site and they put us in site 2 (a premium site) at no extra cost. Later that day they tried to put another 5th wheel in that same site and he refused, too. The park is older and the roads were a bit dusty. Everything worked and I would use again for an overnight stay. I think they should be more aware of the size of different RVs and not assign large RVs to sites with low limbs. We camped at Royal Gorge / Canon City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We ate at My Sister's Place just down the road from the KOA. Convenient with average food. Other choices were in Canon City which is 8 miles away. Ask for a coupon at KOA for a discount on your meal.

4 Aces RV Park, Kinsley, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Good for an overnight stay especially at the price which is for a full hook up. Easy in and out at our pull through site. No shade and a gravel road ; however, the pad was concrete. The manager was friendly. The town does not offer much but they do have a small grocery store. Diesel was a farm supply store with 24 hour pumps that take credit card only. We would stay here again if passing through. We camped at 4 Aces RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wanderlust RV Park, Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights in site 80 which they now designate as a premium site. All the utilities worked well, but the Wifi was very poor. We had a strong Verizon signal so we just tethered. The camp is nicely located about 3 miles from downtown. The park has a paved road initially that then becomes gravel. The paved portion is quite rough. Probably the best RV park for Eureka Springs. This was our third time staying here. We camped at Wanderlust RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bull Shoals - White River State Park, Bull Shoals, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 4 nights at this beautiful park. We were in site 73 in the newly renovated section with plenty of room for our 35 foot fifth wheel. All roads and sites are paved and the park was clean and quiet. We really liked this park and will definitely be back. We camped at Bull Shoals - White River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Up the Creek RV Camp, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 6 days in a fifth wheel in a back in site. This is a nice clean park that we have stayed in 2 years ago. It is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge. There are no facilities such as bathrooms, showers, or laundromat. There is a shuttle that stops at the park and you can ride it to town. As I recall, it's free. Would definitely go back if in that area again. We camped at Up the Creek RV Camp in a Fifth Wheel.
