Traveling through with my telescopes, we stayed for the Dark Skies. Was able to spend a couple nights sharing the views with the owners and others and getting some good pictures of the Milky Way and some Deep Sky objects. were very accommodating in getting me into a site with very little light pollution. I hope to stop by again sometime and will recommend this to other amateur astronomers. We camped at Pony Soldier RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cambridge City RV Park, Cambridge, Nebraska

Overall Rating:
Nice campground for an overnight stay. Electric sites only - 50 amp. There is water & dump station just outside entrance to RV Park. Bathrooms available in McKinley Park if one is not self-contained. Camping cost: donation. Pros: right off of highway. Cons: some traffic & train noise. Would definitely stay here again & recommend. Gem of a city park. We camped at Cambridge City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Crossroads RV Park, Wells, Nevada
Date of Stay:
April, 2017 -
$20.00
Overall Rating:
Good little park for an overnight stay. Sites are tight, especially for big rigs. We tried to pull into a 50 Amp site, but we couldn't put out our slides. So we went around again & backed in leaving plenty of MH forward. Then we could put the slides out. WiFi worked well. Didn't use bathrooms. Had to self register as no one was around. There were 3 monthlies in the park, but didn't see them at all. Cost: $15 for a 30 amp site & $20 for a 50 amp site - using Passport America. We camped at Crossroads RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dancing Eagle RV Park, Casa Blanca, New Mexico
Date of Stay:
February, 2017 -
$11.00
Overall Rating:
A good campground for one or more nights. Campground has full hook-up sites that are either pull-thru or back-in. Sites fairly level & are gravel. Water pressure is good. Sites are satellite friendly. WiFi spotty, as I think it comes from the Casino. Speaking of the Casino, it is within walking distance. Campground offers a concrete walking path with gate to get to the casino. The area is beautiful & worth the drive down to the Acoma Pueblo. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Dancing Eagle RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel, Bernardo, New Mexico
Date of Stay:
February, 2017 -
$15.00
Overall Rating:
We were only going to stay 2 nights but ended up staying a week. Campground has full-hook, good WiFi & is satellite friendly. Sites a little close, but we were able to put out our 3 slides. Staff in office friendly & helpful. Campground offered everything that we needed. We would definitely stay here again if in area. We camped at Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel in a Motorhome.
We made this our base camp. One day we drove east to the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument. Next day we drove south west to the Very Large Array, ghost town Kelly & San Miguel. Another day we went north to Albuquerque and finally we went over to the Bosque Bird Sanctuary to see the cranes.

Marathon Motel and RV Park, Marathon, Texas
Date of Stay:
January, 2017 -
$20.00
Overall Rating:
We stayed here a week. Great park for star gazing as it offers amazing views of the night sky. The park isn't very big w/ only 19 sites, but it does have good WiFi & cable TV. Clean restrooms.
The park has spots where you can get out your own telescope w/ power & shade cloth to prevent stray light intrusion. We would definitely stay here again. We
camped at Marathon Motel and RV Park in a Motorhome.
The area is known as the north gateway to Big Bend National Park. While it is a little ways from the park, the drive makes for a good day trip. We actually went there 2 different days.

Wagon Master RV Park, Sanger, Texas

$17.00
Overall Rating:
Stopped by for one night. The owners & workers were wonderful. The alpacas were fun to watch & even more fun to hand feed. Because of this we decided to stay a second night. If you can get by with water/electric only, ask for the site by the barn. It offers the best view of the alpacas. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.
