Goose Creek RV & Camping Resort, Newport, North Carolina
Date of Stay:
April, 2018 -
$60.00
Overall Rating:
Friendly staff, Gated with key access ($10 refundable deposit). It was early in the season so the pool and water slide were not open yet. It's a big park but it is mostly full timers. Some sites along the pond looked un level, on a slope. We had a very nice site along the water, next to the boat ramp. Beautiful view of Bogue Sound. Fires allowed but bring your own off ground fire pit. Cable worked fine. Good Cell service (we use Straight Talk). We camped at Goose Creek RV & Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
Bring a fishing pole!

Clean, spacious sites, pool, shop, jumping pad, dog park. Good wifi and Verizon Cell service. A little over priced. Not a very large KOA but nice. Lots of grassy areas. We camped at Wilmington KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
Battleship USS North Carolina a few minutes away, they do an interesting tour of the ship. Wear comfy shoes! Shopping close by

Myrtle Beach KOA, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$79.00
Overall Rating:
This was our second time here and they made a few nice changes. The Park was cleaned up a lot since our visit last year (Hurricane). Deluxe patio sites were added, including hammocks, grills and nice patio furniture. We may book a deluxe site next time! It was a little difficult making reservations but that was because their phones were busy. They also charge an extra $5 a day "Resort fee" which they say is for the "free" pancake breakfast. We camped at Myrtle Beach KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
We went to Wonder Works, it's educational hands-on science exhibits plus laser tag, a ropes course & a 6D motion ride and arcades. We really enjoyed Broadway at the Beach, lots of shops and places to eat. A fun afternoon out.

Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia
Date of Stay:
July, 2017 -
$60.00
Overall Rating:
Not happy about the $10 a day "Resort" fee. They say that's for use of the pool, mini golf, "free" pancake breakfast (coffee not included). Putt Putt golf is run down and needs repairs. Pool was nice but the liner was mushy under your feet in some places. Cable didn't always work. No WiFi, Verizon cell service was ok. Camp store is very nice. Fire rings too close to other rv's, not safe. Too many stumps in camp sites. Lots of uneven sites. Dirt/gravel. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
We took the shuttle bus to Harpers Ferry and did the Historical tour. Lots of walking, wear comfy shoes! Pretty views. The river rafting looked like fun.

Pelican Point RV Park, Cherry Point MCAS, North Carolina
Date of Stay:
June, 2017 -
$25.00
Overall Rating:
Very clean. Sunny sites, lots of room, easy to get in and out of. Level concrete pads. They have the nicest utility pedestals, everything was in one spot, easy hook up and everything worked, cable & WiFi. Bathroom/Showers are private and you get a code to get into. Nice golf course close by. Walk to the river for fishing. Verizon cell worked great. No fires allowed. Would go back again. We camped at Pelican Point RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Bring your golf clubs and fishing rod!

Myrtle Beach KOA, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Date of Stay:
November, 2016 -
$46.00
Overall Rating:
Nice campgrounds, pool, splash pad, lake w/ducks. Good cell service, wifi and cable. We called the office to ask about a fire ring and they brought one to our site. KOA store at entrance with a few items you may need or souvenirs. You can rent peddle carts and golf carts. We would go back to this KOA again! We camped at Myrtle Beach KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
Bring bread to feed the ducks! Lots to do in the area. We played golf, had dinner & a show at Medieval Times and went shopping at Tanger Outlets.

Fredericksburg / Washington DC South KOA, Fredericksburg, Virginia
Date of Stay:
October, 2016 -
$57.00
Overall Rating:
We stayed on the first row, it felt like we were more outside the campgrounds, gravel site, lots of trees. They did not enforce the 10pm quiet time. Thursday and Friday nights people were very loud outside till 1am. Neighbors fire pit 3 feet from our bedroom window. (we left a day early because of the noise). Small picnic table on site. Onsite trash pickup each day. We probably won't go back or if we did, I would not stay in the first row. We camped at Fredericksburg / Washington DC South KOA in a Travel Trailer.
We drove to the Potomac Mill Mall (about 45 min away) and also enjoyed The National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico VA.

New Bern KOA, New Bern, North Carolina
Date of Stay:
September, 2016 -
$68.00
Overall Rating:
Easy to get into, friendly staff, they showed us to our site and delivered firewood. The pool was clean, they have a store stocked in case you forgot to bring something. Nice playground, jumping pad, wagon ride, free ice cream sundaes for the kids, catch and release pond and the Neuse River out my back window. Good cell service and wifi. It was a bit pricey, but if you have children it may be worth it. My grandson loved the life-sized chess and checkers! We camped at New Bern KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Raleigh Oaks RV Resort, Four Oaks, North Carolina
Date of Stay:
September, 2016 -
$40.00
Overall Rating:
Very clean, large spacious sites, Wifi, Cable and Cellphone worked well. We enjoyed the pool, miniature golf, playground and free waffle breakfast. Only thing missing is a life size Checkers /Chess in the playground! They will need to hire an activity coordinator for the children (the one they had left). We would defiantly go back again! We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
We went to the Bentonville Battle Field 15 minutes away and took a tour. Very interesting.
