Carlsbad RV Park and Campground, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Booked a pull through site and they gave us a back in site. No apologies for their mistake, said they could give us a refund and we could go elsewhere. No attempt to find a resolution. And, we know it was not an error on our part as we have NEVER booked a back in site in the four years that we have owned our RV. This trip includes 25+ parks and not one back in site. They were fully booked so we had no choice but to accept what they gave us. Our email confirmation from them indicate a site type of 'luxury RV' and we did not think to question that as generally pull throughs are more expensive than back ins and luxury suggested the more expensive pull through site. In hind sight it was our mistake not to question that. Would not recommend this place just because of their customer service. Totally ruined our stay with them.

It looked like a nice enough park, it was gated which is always nice. Our back in site though was a dual site, two RV's in one site, so we had an A class right behind us that could look straight into our RV. Not very comfortable for us as we had no privacy. Would definitely not consider this type of site as a 'luxury' site.

We did not explore the park or use any of the facilities as we were so put off by our treatment when we arrived so, unfortunately, we cannot give further details on the park itself. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

There is not much to do in Carlsbad except to see the Caverns. Would recommend a park closer to the Caverns if they are the reason for your visit as the Caverns are almost 30 miles from Carlsbad.

Alamogordo/ White Sands KOA, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely park. Our site was a large pull through patio site that had a nice brick patio with BBQ, bench swing, picnic table, fire ring and night lights. Loved our site! We camped at Alamogordo/ White Sands KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We liked the park in general but a few of our complaints are as follows: park flows downhill so site was very unlevel and we had challenges levelling, pull through sites are at a 90 degree angle so not that easy to get into, laundry facilities were horrible (old and dirty, animal hair in washing machines), resort wasn't well marked and hard to find, expensive compared to other nicer resorts on our trip. We camped at Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Homestead RV Park, Kirtland, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Basically a gravel parking lot hidden behind some storage facilities. Sites are very sloped and took us three tries to get our RV to level up without bringing the tires on one side off the ground. Very frustrating. Only stayed here because there were no other options in the area. We camped at Homestead RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is off the main highway which is a positive as there is no highway noise. Liked the park except for the very unlevel site. Even with the Anderson jack pads it took us 3 tries to get our RV situated so that the auto level was not lifting the tires off the ground. We finally had to drive one side up on blocks to fix the problem. Was very frustrating after a tiring day of driving. We camped at OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables in a Fifth Wheel.

Wildhorse Resort and Casino RV Park, Pendleton, Oregon

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here twice now on our way down south and like to stay at casinos in order to take advantage of the amenities but have been disappointed. We find the pull through RV spaces to be very unlevel, not well kept and generally uninviting. Also, not related to the RV park, the casino buffet was an extreme disappointment this time around. We camped at Wildhorse Resort and Casino RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
