Raccoon River Campground, Panama City Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

The close proximity to the beach and pools are what really makes this park. Slightly overpriced but it is a tourist town. You really can't beat the private trail to the beach though. You do have to cross a very busy street just before the beach access. Was a great place for families with kids. We camped at Raccoon River Campground in a Motorhome.

Rustic Sands RV Resort Campground, Mexico Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Office hours are only 9-3. We arrived around 5 to find the pool closed, cable TV out, and no WiFi. We were going to stay the weekend but the park wasn't what we were hoping to find. We had no tow vehicle with us and parking at the beach was almost nonexistent for something as big as a motor home. The park is more than a mile from the beach and not an easy walk. I know the managers were frustrated when we left early but the advertised amenities were out of order or closed. Just a little more rustic than we had hoped for. We camped at Rustic Sands RV Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort, Crystal River, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We were only going to stay one night on our way through town. But the pool was so great and hospitality of others just sucked us right in! Stayed two nights and loved the peace and quiet of the place. The kids LOVED the pool, while mom loved the hot tub in October! Lovely! Great base camp for exploring the area and visiting the manatees.

Only negative was not having a bath house for showers. With six in our rig, a bath house is nice to spread out in. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Go swim with the manatees at River Adventures! Captain gentlemen were amazing. We had a terrific family adventure. Never would have dreamed we'd do something like that. Can't recommend them enough to everyone!

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This park is amazing! I wish every other park would take a page from Oasis. The attention to detail is profound. We arrived after dark. Not a problem, the pedestals are lighted! Only negative was the direction the wind was blowing that night. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Happy Traveler RV Park, Thonotosassa, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed overnight but wanted to stay longer! EVERYONE was so friendly and helpful. This park is so clean and cute. My entire family wanted to stay and play. The teens loved the pool. The night guard helped me with the laundry and my husband with directions to the grocery store. After 15 states in 34 days this one makes our top 5! We camped at Happy Traveler RV Park in a Motorhome.

Trail Lakes Campground, Ochopee, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a member park. No frills nothing fancy. But if you want quiet and wildlife this IS your park. We stayed here after three days in Orlando. Great to be out of the city and away from all the noise and lights. Great central location for base camp while exploring all the everglades has to offer. Experience of a lifetime! We camped at Trail Lakes Campground in a Motorhome.

We kayaked in Everglades City through the mangroves and saw lots of alligators along the highway across from the park.

Fort De Soto Campground, Tierra Verde, Florida

Overall Rating:

Our favorite stop of 5 weeks and 15 states! Being this close to the white sand beach was amazing. Only thing that would have made it better would be camping in the beach parking lot! Park was quiet and tranquil. Loved our three days there! We camped at Fort De Soto Campground in a Motorhome.

Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground), St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $83.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here one night exactly one week post hurricane. All other parks were still closed. Don't know if that's why they were so expensive or if they're really that proud of their park. Each child was an additional fee, WiFi had an extra fee, laundry was the most expensive I've seen. Everything had an additional charge. Not worth all the extra expense! We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Lake Eufaula Campground, Eufaula, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Only stayed one night as we were passing through. I think there are a lot of permanent residents here. Buildings are older and dated. Bathrooms lacking. We decided to use the facilities in our motor home instead. We camped at Lake Eufaula Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We were given a lot of information at check in about the area and things to do. However we were just passing through and didn't have time to explore. Because of the tight spaces and power fluctuations I don't know that we'd stay again. But the managers were extremely friendly and helpful and area interesting.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a great park to set up camp while visiting the area. Mt. Rushmore is a half hour away. Jewel Cave is an easy ten minute drive. Make sure to hike to the natural entrance of the cave as well as taking the guided tour. Great family vacation memories were made here!

2 Bar Lazy H RV Park & Campground, Butte, Montana

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great stop if you need easy access for one night. We were pleasantly surprised by the nice bathrooms and great showers. There is some road noise but that is to be expected as the interstate is close by. But it's quieter than the truck stop right down the road! The managers were very polite. We stayed here on our way in and out of Montana. We camped at 2 Bar Lazy H RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
