Bass Lake RV Resort, Bass Lake, California
Date of Stay:
November, 2016 -
$180.00
Overall Rating:
This is an amazing park! We stayed in a 3 bedroom cabin with ALL the amenities (kitchen, living room, dining room, washer/dryer, cable tv, 2 bathrooms (including a garden tub which my wife loved), and a fenced yard!) Staff was friendly and welcoming. Clubhouse(s) were warm and inviting (the kid's clubhouse kept the garndkids busy for hours! Roads are narrow but show me mountains that don't have narrow winding roads...it adds to the charm (you just have to know how to drive and drive for your conditions)! RV sites seem very easy to get into as the roads around them are very wide with plenty of room to back in or pull through. I have a 40' motorhome and would not hesitate to bring it next time (and I DEFINITELY will come back!) The RV sites are gravel but that doesn't bother me...I AM camping after all...if I wanted a concrete pad and manicured lawns I would stay @ home. I agree the speed bumps are big but they are there to keep the speed down and everyone safe...they work! Unfortunately, the beetles have invaded millions of trees in the area (to no fault of any land owners) and hundreds of trees are lost daily. This is part of nature and more will grow in the place of those lost. This resort is better than staying in crowded Yosemite (which for us was only 1/2 hour drive in the snow!) I can't say enough about this place and am looking forward to making happy memories for my grandchildren here...I just wish I found it when my kids were little. We camped at Bass Lake RV Resort in a Cabin.
There is a marina at the village next door with great fishing There is a nice little trail from the campground to a cove at the lake. There are great old-time shops in Oakhurst where you can find handmade crafts from local artists.

Del Valle, Livermore, California
Date of Stay:
July, 2016 -
$24.00
Overall Rating:
Very nice campground. No sewer hook-ups, but had restrooms nearby. Allowed campfires at each site and had fire rings at sites. Plenty of space between campers and had overflow parking (for towing my boat). Lake is close. Had a long line at boat launch but that was to be expected in July. Lots of wildlife to spot. Beach was a little crowded but was not overly crowded. Surrounding area was definitely dry...but we are in a drought! Definitely will come back...location, location, location! We camped at Del Valle in a Motorhome.
