Tucannon River RV Park (formerly Tucannon River Retreat), Dayton, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice no frills campground. The kind we like. Pull through gravel sites are extra long with space between sites. Big rig friendly. Very well maintained, green grass and sites are level. Managers live on site and are super helpful and nice to talk to. Bulk propane sales on site as well. The only downside is there is NO cell service here from AT&T or Verizon. There is wifi which works but it isn't fast and comes and goes. Nice base camp for exploring Palouse Falls State Park. We camped at Tucannon River RV Park (formerly Tucannon River Retreat) in a Fifth Wheel.

Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park, Florence, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, heavily wooded campground. Sites are a little small for big rigs and some of the roads a bit difficult to navigate. Pine trees are pretty close to your rig and shed a lot of pollen and material in the spring. There is NO AT&T or Verizon service here. We camped at Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Deschutes County Fair & Expo RV Park, Redmond, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice facility. Everything is maintained well. Nice concrete sites that are level with plenty of space in between. Big rig friendly. All utilities worked well and are placed the way they should be. Verizon data service was super fast. On site office and management 7 days a week. Better facilities than most "resort" campgrounds for much less. Laundry available at inexpensive rates. We camped at Deschutes County Fair & Expo RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Holiday Palms RV Park, Quartzsite, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place to stay in Quartzsite. Price reflects monthly rate in December. It goes up in January. Full hook ups. Since we full time, we use it as a place to hang out for the month while we do some annual maintenance on the rig and travel east without the rig for Christmas. Sites are a little tight but provide good parking next to the rig for the truck. Cable works well but the wifi is so-so. Mostly seasonal folks here but very friendly. We camped at Holiday Palms RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunset (NPS Campground), Death Valley National Park, California

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is a no hookups campground but it does have bathrooms and a dump station on site. We have solar power for the rig so it works fine for us. Great value for exploring Death Valley NP. Sunset is a large open gravel parking lot with many sites marked off. Plenty of room to spread out so you're not packed in together. Easy to navigate for big rigs. Most are pull through sites. Camp hosts are on site. Very little cell service here. We camped at Sunset (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Las Vegas RV Resort , Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, clean and secure campground right in Las Vegas. We needed something close to the airport as we were flying to the East coast for Thanksgiving to visit family. They have many amenities and a 24 hour staffed security gate at the entrance. Friendly staff. Many seasonal campers here but all were nice. Sites are pretty tight but you're in town so it's going to be a bit crowded. Parking for the truck was tight. We camped at Las Vegas RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Valley of Fire State Park, Overton, Nevada

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Nice State Park. We stayed at the no hook up section since we have solar power for the rig. It's a busy park since it's so close to Vegas some get there early in the day to secure a spot. It's first come first served. The park is interesting and this is a great base camp to explore it from. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

East Zion Riverside RV Park, Mount Carmel, Utah

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for three weeks while visiting Zion NP. We stayed at the new section up the road from the Best Western. It has full hookups and 50A power. It's bare bones with no amenities but it met our needs for being close to the Park. All the campgrounds in Zion were full so this enabled us to visit when we otherwise could not. The other downside is it's right next to a busy road but for the price we could deal with that. It serves as a base camp for exploring the Park. Not much reason to be here beyond that. Plenty of room to maneuver a big rig and parking for the truck was next to the rig. The staff at the Best Western is friendly and helpful. Most of the other rigs there were seasonal workers but there were no issues. Would stay again. We camped at East Zion Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sand Hollow State Park, Hurricane, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great state park campground. It's very popular and is usually full by evening. The sites are very spacious and the views are superb. Everything is paved and very easy to navigate for big rigs. Utilities work well but water pressure is very high. Make sure you have a regulator. The staff is nice and the place is always very clean. Definitely will be back. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Chief Sleep Easy RV Park, Beaver Dam, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a decent park to stay in for just passing through. It's mostly long term residents and some of the rigs are in pretty bad shape. Many haven't moved in a very long time. The staff is very nice and helpful and the utilities all work well. Sites are very close together. The wifi is "sketchy" as the gal in the office told me. Sometimes it works well and then it just goes out. Then it comes back. Off and on. Verizon is 4 bars of LTE but no data. Never seen that before. Couldn't do any internet with Verizon. We camped at Chief Sleep Easy RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Canyon Campground (Dixie National Forest) USFS, Panguitch, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice USFS campground that is near the entrance to Bryce Canyon. All the commercial campgrounds are $50+/night. There are no hookups but there is a dump station with water. There are bath houses in each loop but we didn't use them. Sites are spacious. Camp hosts are friendly. There are some tight spots to navigate for big rigs. They need to trim some branches. Also, there is NO Verizon signal here. It's in a canyon and the signal is blocked. We camped at Red Canyon Campground (Dixie National Forest) USFS in a Fifth Wheel.

Deer Creek State Park, MIdway, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a super nice place. We were in the chokecherry campground. Full hookups, paved roads and sites. Plenty of space between sites. Easy navigation for big rigs. Every site has a pavilion over the picnic table. The staff is very friendly and the camp hosts & workers keep the place very clean. Granted the electric is only 30 amp but for the price it's a great value. The views of the surrounding mountains and the reservoir are superb. Most of the sites gets reserved for the weekends but during the week it's very quiet here. The only downside is the Verizon service is spotty at best. Water pressure was a little low but it got the job done. Sites are double wide so plenty of space to park the truck. We camped at Deer Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Gros Ventre Campground (Concessionaire Operated), Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for the month of September. We really like the Tetons and this is the best campground to explore it from. Yes it's dry camping for $29/night but check the private campgrounds in town and see what they charge. It's insane. This location is much better than in town for exploring the Park. And moose routinely roam through the campground! We were here last year for September as well. They're in the process of repaving the roads and sites so it should be very nice next year. Hope they don't increase the rates! We camped at Gros Ventre Campground (Concessionaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Wolf Creek Campground USFS, Alpine, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a dry camping National Forest campground on the Snake River. There is a potable water faucet to fill your tank but no dump station. There are pit toilets but no running water in them. There are about 6 pull through sites out of 20 suitable for big rigs. We stayed in site 1 which was very easy to get into and out of. Many of the smaller sites are not very level. The one downside is it's close to US 89 so road noise is there. It quiets down at night. We camped at Wolf Creek Campground USFS in a Fifth Wheel.

Juniper Campground, Ririe, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground and an excellent value. Everything is clean and well maintained. The sites are paved and the interior roads are easy to navigate for big rigs. The camp host is very friendly & helpful. Good proximity to Idaho Falls. Very quiet at night. The only downside is the sprinkler system that comes on at night and sprays down your rig. We camped at Juniper Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
