A very nicely kept CG located two blocks from the university in town near many amenities. However, there was no cable service. We managed to get one major channel and two others. We camped at Southside RV Park in a Motorhome.

A bit pricey, but very nice, convenient CG. Had the best wifi we have ever had in a CG. Conversely, the cable TV picture was almost impossible to see it was so bad, and one of the worse of any CGs in which we have stayed. We camped at Billings Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

For $65 this CG was way over priced. For that amount of money, a camper should be able to get on the WIFI, any time night or day. During busy hours during the day the WIFI was so busy, I could not log on. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Very nice park and very secure...had to have a gate code to get in. Nice pools (2) and lots to do for kids including being right on the Illinois River. The only down side is that, for an RV park in the woods, it is very expensive. Over $50 a night (without discount) is very high. We camped at Marval Family Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

There are different rates for all the various sites. We paid $260/week for a water view site PLUS electric. Site was a pull forward into the site, but not enough room was left for the tow vehicle and I still needed an extension for my sewer hose. Sewer and power were way back in the corner of the site. There is an "adults only" area which includes a pool. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

I was directed to travel along the road adjacent to sites 75 to 79, go past site 81 and back in to that site. That was impossible with a 45' DP. In trying to get past site 81, my tail pipe was on the ground and I had to remove the hitch for my tow car...it was stuck on the ground. I had to maneuver around, get the tail pipe free, the hitch off and go forward up and down two streets so I was heading west, then could back in without a problem. This has happened before, there are several scrapes and one deep gouge in the concrete. However, there was not room enough to comfortably park the tow car. Also, the tow cars parked in sites 79 and 80 blocked each other in with their tow cars. We camped at Lake Livingston / Onalaska KOA in a Motorhome.

Good Sam says they collect one night's cost when registering: they charged us a weeks stay two months early when we made reservations. I'm not sure what the true rate was, they had a rally rate, a GS rate and a Passport rate.

None of the roads were paved, so it was extremely dusty. At the end of a week our coach and car matched the color of the dirt. There was no cable. The WIFI was weak when many people were on it. This park is on a beautiful location on the river and the grounds were immaculate.

However it is a Good Sam 10/10/10 park, but with the lack of basic amenities and not even paved roads or cable: that is way too high a ranking for what is offered. We camped at River View RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

South Oaks Manufactured RV & Mobile Home Park, Palmetto, Georgia

They claim in the Good Sam RV Travel Guide, to have 140 available spaces. That might be so if you have a 20' travel trailer with 30 amp power. They have no spaces with 50 amp power that are easily accessible. We have stayed here three times. During the first two times we could not get level, needed three sewer hoses to reach the connection and ruined our rock guard trying to get in the space. All spaces are small. Many have water, but no sewer or sewer but no water. There are power boxes and/or water pipes, not no guts to the power or faucets for the water. During our last visit we opted to try a 30 amp spot...couldn't get level, had to run both power and water hoses back under the coach to plugins, and had to run the generator to keep warm. This park could be a gold mine if fixed up and maintained. However, nothing changes, we've had it,and will not stay here again. $35 with no discount is about twice what this park should charge. We felt sorry for the lady in the office, she knew nothing about the RV side of the business. Thus, she was no help as we tried to find a space with both power, water and sewer. We camped at South Oaks Manufactured RV & Mobile Home Park in a Motorhome.
