Page Springs Park, Cornville, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $3.00
Overall Rating:

This is a basic campground but the location is wonderful for a family fishing and playing in the creek trip. The entrance is a little tricky, come from the west, as it is right by Up the Creek restaurant. Across the road is the Page Springs fish hatchery. Good hookups but only water and electricity at sites. Dump station is clean and equipped with a hose. I was greeted upon arrival, taken to my site and helped with backing in. Great experience. We camped at Page Springs Park in a Motorhome.

Eugene T Mahoney State Park, Ashland, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Facilities (bathroom, showers) could use an update. Spaces are roomy and lots of shade. The selling point for this state park is all the amenities...water park, horseback riding, activity center, golf, mini golf, crafts, paddle boats, snack bar, restraint and biking and hiking paths. Just outside the park is an Air and Space museum. Town of Ashland is 3 miles away. Campground is close to I80 and you will hear freeway noise. We camped at Eugene T Mahoney State Park in a Motorhome.

Hidden Valley RV Resort, Tijeras, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $3.00
Overall Rating:

We have used this park several times as a "one night" stopover. It is convenient to I40, just outside of Albuquerque. We always arrive late and leave early so don't really use the amenities which appear on the shabby side. Hookups are close to ground and don't seem all that sanitary. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pawnee State Recreation Area, Lincoln, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice state park, quiet and good space allotted to each space. Includes fire pit and picnic table. Hook ups only include electricity so you'll have to fill up tank (available at campground entrance) and dump sewer (about a mile away near administration buildings). Lots of trees and hiking trails easily accessible. There is a beach area about 1 1/2 miles away which was nice and not crowded during our stay. Boating and fishing also available at the park. About half the sites are reservable online, the rest are walk up. Many of the walk up sites are 20 amp. Easy access to Lincoln. Reserve if you want to assure 30 amp. Buy park sticker (required in addition to camp fee) in advance or at gate. Must go to the dump station about a mile away. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

KQ Ranch Camping Resort, Julian, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

I have a Colorado Adventures membership and this resort is part of that. I have stayed three times in the past three years. Originally I felt it was a good place to stay but my last visit was excellent, due to the current staff onsite. There are so many fun events on the weekends. We had live performances two nights over the weekend. Made S'mores, swam and my children participated in making crafts and hanging out at the kids club every day. Every weekend there is an opportunity to buy apple pie by the slice or a whole pie fresh from Julian pies. Adults had the opportunity to make bath balls and other crafts along with the older kids. RV sites are fairly level depending on where you are assigned. Showers are clean and functional. There is a fishing pond for the kids. There is a wolf rescue nearby. We really enjoyed our stay. We camped at KQ Ranch Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Cherry Valley Lakes RV Campground, Cherry Valley, California

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We are CRA members and used this as a "just passing through" site. Pros: Nice clubhouse, hot tub hot, showers clean, good access to area. Cons: very noisy traffic from I10. Even with windows closed the noise was constant. The water faucet and sewer outlet are right beside each other, and were buried in dirt. Had to dig them out in order to access. Spaces are pull through but narrow. I did not get an escort to site but saw that others did. Worst part was a cackle of retirees constantly complaining about the activities of children and setting security on them if they went near the empty hot tub or played pool in the clubhouse. They weren't using any of those things but just delighted in showing their control. Overall a decent overnight stay if you aren't too noise sensitive. Can't imagine they sell too many memberships here. We camped at Cherry Valley Lakes RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Havasu Springs Resort, Parker, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second stay as CRA members, thus the no cost. It was a rainy weekend and one of the bathrooms and laundry flooded. The pros: Beautiful heated pool and hot tub that is actually hot; beautiful location; onsite restaurant and very close to a couple of other good restaurants; beach access, fishing area and boat slips available. Staff nice enough. The cons: No Verizon service, basically no internet ( you have to wait a long time and your email might update but probably not.), and cable does not work except at a few sites. Spaces are very close and long term campers ate allowed to build out to the space boundries with shelters and "stuff" making it extremely difficult to get out of your space without multiple back and forth maneuverings. Water view is mostly taken up by privately owned cottages so no nice views for campers. Many tall trees making satellite access difficult. Overall among the CRA campgrounds this one is nice enough. Mostly a senior crowd and friendly enough. We camped at Havasu Springs Resort in a Motorhome.

Emerald Cove Resort, Earp, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We are CRA members and this is our home camp. We have camped here twice. There is a clubhouse and there is a bar and snacks, food at the bar on weekends. This campgrounds attracts a younger crowd and families, not just seniors. If you are a river rat you will love it here. Wide roads and a good amount of space in each site. We camped at Emerald Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

Roper Lake State Park, Safford, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean and nice park. We have stayed a few times to visit friends in the area. Love the hot tubs, but expect a number of locals to sneak in and use them after the attendent leaves the main gate. There is a fishing area and a swimming area of the lake. Not great fishing and water is muddy but fun for the kids. There is a $5 fee for booking online. We camped at Roper Lake State Park in a Motorhome.
