About Slimbeaux

Can't wait to retire and full time. I mountain bike and love to look for new boondocking sites that have trails right next to them. Before I can go dry camping I have to Dump & Fill and depend on RV Park Reviews for quality information

Cascade Peaks Family Campground (formerly Cascade Peaks RV Resort & Ca, Randle, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

I would stay here again because I really like the campground. It isn't fancy and yes the water and electricity can be on the low side. But when the hosts say: "Just find a site you like," you can tell you are in East Lewis County. Friendly and Helpful.

But: I wouldn't stay here with out a good surge suppressor. The first time we stayed it kicked out for low voltage twice and I had to plug in to the site next door. The second time I stayed I had no problems. Water pressure was about 18 psi but I did have plenty of flow.

Neither one of these items were much of a problem because we are mostly boondockers and are used to being on our own. All the FHU sites were up in the front; right next to the highway. So during the day there was traffic noise. In fact you could hear it all the way back to the Cowlitz River where we stayed. But still, I like it here. We camped at Cascade Peaks Family Campground (formerly Cascade Peaks RV Resort & Ca in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to Packwood and see if the elk are running around the town. Huff & Puff just west of Randle has excellent burgers. Mt Adams Cafe in Randle has good pies; but that is about it. The Coffee Stand in Randle makes a good mocca.
