Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins, Spearfish, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

The resort was very nice but the Service was bad. The employee who checked us in was unfriendly and gave no instructions about where our campsite was, where the dumpsters were, etc. She handed us a map and said you're in back in #--- then walked away. When we saw they had a pickleball court (no net out), we went to the office to inquire about the net and the same employee said 'just use the tennis net' we pressed her for a pickleball net and she shrugged and said she'd look for one. She returned a few minutes later with a net. Her job is customer service, she didn't seem interested in wanting to help or in making the customer feel welcome. There were other employees but we did not have any encounters wjtb them, so we can't say they are all like this bad. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Kellogg RV Park, Kellogg, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Easy check in at gas station. Lot's of rain over the past weeks made site driveway muddy and soft. We got muddy but didn't have a problem maneuvering. They have a tornado shelter-thankfully we did not have to use it. Good overnight spot. Noisy highway. 45ft MH towing. We camped at Kellogg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground, Bryce Canyon, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Right at the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park. The on site shuttle stop was convenient. The staff were friendly. Paved access roads with gravel side roads to the sites. There is a lot of room to maneuver and access sites. Sites are large with ok spacing. There are two separate areas: One in the trees (older) and one in the open (newer). Each site has a small grass area, a picnic table and fire ring we felt was located too close to RV's. Sewer connection was too high. We did not connect it until we had to dump. Park signage is old and faded. We were in the"older" section and did not have cable, as others have stated they had. We stayed in a 45ft MH w/toad. We camped at Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated), Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

As campers we should take responsibility to clean up after ourselves (and maybe walk into the woods when you want to smoke a cigar). But, maybe this park could use a staff member to walk around and inspect each site and 'tidy up' before the next camper arrives. It would be nice if the concessionaire would use a quieter non-gas vehicle to drive around the park. 45 ft MH just fit, we had to back out of the pull through due to a tree being in the way. Not a big deal. Tow vehicle had to be parked on the stones. Great use of shuttle busses to take you anywhere. Beware! We had 2 inches of snow fall overnight the first week of April! We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tucson / Lazydays KOA, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

We'd like to see the staff inspect sites daily and remove the piles of spoiled fruit from the grounds. The park had many unsightly ancient RVs parked long term. I don't know if this KOA had a min 'age' requirement. New pickleball courts but the minimal netting they used to stop balls from flying into the road was worthless. Sitting in the hot tub was nice except for when parents allow their children to 'play' in it while you're trying to relax. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Motorhome.

Lake Pleasant Regional Park, Morristown, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

When the 'details' about the site indicate STEEP slope, they are not kidding! Our site was manageable with a spotter using a walkie talkie so as not to scrape our side radiator of our 45 ft MH! We did not hook up to water so we could position the site at an angle to appreciate the views. We camped at Lake Pleasant Regional Park in a Motorhome.

This is quite the 'party place' on the weekends at the dry camping areas. We Kayaked, hiked, biked, balloons launch just about every early morning. Lunch at Scorpion Bay was good. Drove to and hiked Granite Mountain HotShot Memorial.

Wahweap RV and Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Nowhere did the park signage call this park "Wahweap RV and Campground" The sign said Lake Powell Campground. The week we stayed the bag worms were AWFUL! They were on everything-grill, picnic table, concrete, dirt, rocks, our MH, Jeep, kayaks. We'd sweep them away. knock them off and they'd come right back. Made sitting outside miserable. Not the fault of the park. We camped at Wahweap RV and Campground in a Motorhome.

Nevada Treasure RV Resort & Spa, Pahrump, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Via on-line we requested a back in site, no frills, and mentioned we had their discounts (AARP, etc) At check-in they suggested/pushed a Premium site. Said no thanks. We had to mention the D/C as they were swiping CC. Clerk had to back track to give it to us. Wish they'd read the on-line requests. The dog park is clear in the back-poor doggie never made it. No areas along the route to go either-all concrete. Be certain to have a long electrical cord-boxes are in the back. Will look else where if we are ever in this area again. We camped at Nevada Treasure RV Resort & Spa in a Motorhome.

Boulder Creek RV Resort, Lone Pine, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We were given an end pull through site with a great view of the Owen's valley and Panamint Mtns. Perfect for our big rig. Gravel/dirt ground meant lots of sweeping. Wind blew every day, more dusting. But it's the desert. Picnic table needed sanding and paint. We camped at Boulder Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Manzanar Internment Camp - Plan on at least 3 hours. Museum of Western Film History is fun $5 donation-about an hour to tour. Alabama Hills were beautiful-they were just setting out the placards for the Film Festival which showed what movies were made in the area. Mt Whitney portal drive-take picnic & jackets. Visit the Interagency Visitor Center and drive/visit the West entrance to Death Valley. Make certain to go see the Charcoal Kilns. Pizza Factory was good.

Tahoe Valley Campground, South Lake Tahoe, California

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $87.00
Overall Rating:

This park is difficult for big rigs to maneuver and back into sites. Don't arrive in the DARK! Have to ask neighbors to move vehicles so you can back in. Don't take the 'assigned' spot they offer-ask for a listing of available sites and go look at the path to each and verify you can get into/open sides at sites. We requested 50 amp-the only site they offered us with 50 was too tight. The park had 'closed for season' sections but there were well over 3/4 of the open sections available. Cement Picnic tables were awful. Huge price increase from last year: $58 to $84. When asked why such an increase was told it was to 'keep the riff raff out' and that 'big rig owners had no problem paying it'. We are not Thousand Trail members, with the unprofessional behavior of staff of this very worn out campground wouldn't even consider joining. The only good thing about this park is location. Too bad it's so user unfriendly and expensive. We will keep looking for 'better' parks when returning to this area. We camped at Tahoe Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Pinckney Recreation Area (Bruin Lake), Pinckney, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park does have 50 amp sites. Hint: if you have a 45ft RV select RV size of 40 ft and you can read the 'details' of each site, specifically, the details give you the site size. Many more sites will accommodate the 45 ft RV's on a 40 ft site. We camped at Pinckney Recreation Area (Bruin Lake) in a Motorhome.

Friendly office and ground maintenance staff. Nice walking trails to the creek. Our big rig just fit on site #50. It was a busy corner and we could hear the road noise, no leaves on trees yet. Tips for other Campers:

Camp Verde adds a "privilege tax" on camping on top of a high county and state tax. Take a trip to see Montezuma's Well and Castle. Sedona and Cottonwood are a 30 min drive. Cottonwood had a city tax on all groceries. Visit Tuzigoot National Monument, drive Oak Creek Canyon scenic byway. Jerome has fantastic views, drove the scenic byway to Prescott for craft beer. Flagstaff was chilly and some snow. Highway 17 going north from Sedona to Flagstaff is in need to maintenance.
