Old River Road RV Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a brand new park with wide spacious paved sites that have concrete patios and picnic tables. The entire area (acres of it) other than the wide streets is covered in mowed grass (no stickers). Not many trees, but the sites are situated so that the patio side of your RV is not in the afternoon sun (at least in Oct.) which helps provide shade. There is a large beautiful, mowed river front that I guess will be further landscaped. At this time, there are only 98 of the planned 240 sites usable, but they were able to place our 3 rigs together. I was told that they hope to start on the rest of the sites soon and that there will be a fenced dog park also and what looks like a second swimming pool. Another great feature of this park is it's location, just east of the Kerrville airport off Highway 27 which makes it approximately 25 miles or less from the tourist towns of Bandera, Boerne, Comfort, Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Medina and even Camp Verde. DO NOT DEPEND ON YOUR GPS to help you locate this park as you will only get frustrated. On Highway 27, east of the airport and west of Center Point, turn on to Southerland Rd by the "green porta potty" storage lot and go till it dead ends. Make a sharp right turn onto Center Point River Road and go approx 1/4 mile. You will find the park entrance on your right. We camped here in a 5th wheel, and I highly recommend anyone wanting to visit the Kerrville area to give this park a try. We camped at Old River Road RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

I have been staying in this park about once a summer for the last 9 or 10 years, but missed last summer. There has been an ownership change and I can personally see many improvements that have been done. There is much better lighting in the park and in the dog park. It looks like they have added lights to the electric pedestals and decorative lights throughout the sites. There is a new office and the café is now where the office use to be. My chicken fried steak was very good. There are full timer's here, but they are now mostly over on the back side and in a new section that has been opened. The front part of the park is now mostly for traveling visitors. This is the desert southwest, but there are patches of green starting to show. Looks like the new owners are trying hard to improve their park. I will return again. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
