October, 2016 -
Actual stay was early April 2016. Park was marked closed, but I talked to someone on-site who sent me into town to talk to a nice lady at the County Office, and she authorized my stay. Had the entire place to myself. I am a truck-camper who usually free-camps, so just having electrical hook-up was luxury for me. I imagine during the fair, it gets pretty packed. Has both back in and drive through. I liked it because they have poplar trees that provide shade for much of the hot part of the day. It was a very warm April last year. the whole area was a grass lawn, green when I was there, maybe yellow later in the season. Not dusty while we were there, but might be later in the season. We were left alone. Town's a bit of a drive, so bring what you need if you don't have a "dingy". Farm country, unless it's fair time, not a lot to see or do here, but I wanted solitude for writing, so it was PERFECT.
Wide open, the later in the year, the more important the fence line with the Poplar Trees is going to be! We camped at Palouse-Empire County Fairground in a Truck Camper.
