Campgrounds of the South, Gulfport, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Bare bones. There are very few trees and those are at spaces occupied by what appears to be permanent or seasonal renters. Gravel driveways in disrepair as are concrete pads although the concrete pads are mostly level. This is very close to the highway and is noisy. No picnic tables available. There is one vending machine at the "comfort station" which consists of two bathrooms with showers. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Travel Trailer.

Scandia RV & Mobile Park, Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This park, like so many in Oregon, is the new version of the old "mobile home parks", mostly full of permanent residents or full time RVers. Consequently the temporary visitors don't get the best spots. I do appreciate that I was seeking a site late in the day. I was told the site I would get was not their best in part because it didn't have a lot of grass. There wasn't a single blade of grass. The asphalt pad was not at all level and in fact was on an incline and very uneven. The water pressure at my site wasn't sufficient to take a decent shower in my RV. I wonder if that wasn't in part due to the watering of lawns all over the park all day long. There is only one area set aside for dogs and if it wasn't being watered it was soggy due to so much water. Not much good about this RV park's space 22. I also take issue with the very limited hours of the office and the lack of availability of a number for maintenance issues. I encountered issues with the faucet for fresh water and had I not bumped into the manager at 8:00 I would have had to wait until 10:00 am and delay my departure. Another indication this park caters to full time residents. Would not stay here again. We camped at Scandia RV & Mobile Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground, Kalispell, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I was on the road for 28 days and I stayed in RV parks all but 6 of those nights. This was my favorite park. Most RV parks seem to be the mobile home parks of yesteryear but this had a real campground feel. I saw people sitting at picnic tables playing cards and in the evening building a campfire and gathering round. I did not see that in any other RV park. Most of the time people seem to go inside their oversize RVs to watch their big screen TVs. Wifi was good here. This was a refreshing change and I recommend it. We camped at Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain View RV Park, Columbia Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed for three nights and was generally satisfied with the site. The sites need leveling and the grass at each site was not groomed although a center section of lawn meant for recreation was nicely trimmed. I used the laundry facilities and it was clean and the machines efficient. There are several full time residents in the park but all the sites were well kept. The new owner and the park staff are very nice and provided excellent service. I offer these small criticisms only because I know the owner wants feedback from customers and as time goes by he will remedy any issues. I would recommend staying here. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Kalispell is close by and has Walmart, reasonably priced gasoline and all the big name stores in a couple of malls essentially right across the highway from each. From Columbia Falls where the park is located there is easy access to Whitefish and the West Glacier Park entrance.

Winnemucca RV Park, Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is basically a gravel parking lot with a lawn area for dogs. It is full service with excellent wifi connections. The staff are very hospitable and helpful. The sites are spacious and there were several sizes/kinds of RVs parked here, each site includes a picnic table. There is a lawn area for dogs. No real privacy here but is especially good for a stop along the way. I would stay here again. We camped at Winnemucca RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
