Peter D's RV Park, Sheridan, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at Peter D's for 2 nights in July. The park is conveniently located and relatively quiet. Our reason for staying here was all the good reviews that they have. Unfortunately that was not our experience. First, despite the fact that the park is very clean, the sites are crammed together and if you want to sit outside, you are literally sitting next to your neighbor's sewer connection. If you have a neighbor forget about opening your awnings Second the "friendly" owner was not what we found. We have a 45 ft. motorhome that requires 50 amps on a hot day. When we pulled into the park it was around 90F and with the A/C running the 50 amp breaker tripped when my wife stared cooking. I walked over to the office to tell the owner. His response was to yell at me and tell me that my coach was defective because that breaker had been installed for 18 years and has never had a problem. He then proceeded to tell me that he was not going to pay an electrician to replace it so we could just leave if we could not make it work. So, we shut most of the A/C down and made it work until we left. I would not stay at this park again as another park down the road looks to be very nice as well. We camped at Peter D's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park with very helpful owners. Everyone was very friendly. They have a nice dog park and are very laid back about dogs if they are well behaved. We camped at Miles City KOA in a Motorhome.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very beautiful park with spectacular views. The managers are very friendly and helpful. The only negative is the dusty 1/2 mile road into the park which is not in the park's control. I would definitely recommend this park to anyone. We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Trails RV Park, Walker, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Stopped here to see Itasca State Park and the headwaters of the Mississippi. The park is mostly full of long term summer renters but everyone was very friendly and hospitable. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area. The park itself is nicely landscaped by the renters at their sites and is very nice. The daily sites are not level but we were able to get level so that is not a huge problem. We camped at Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ogston's RV Park, Saginaw, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park in a beautiful setting. The manager is a great guy who is very laid back and helpful. Had an issue with the breaker tripping and he came right over and changed it to fix the problem. The sites face a lake and the area is very peaceful - but close enough to Duluth to be convenient. There are open areas to play with the dogs and a beautiful hiking trail that is cut through the 190 acres of the resort. We camped at Ogston's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Country Village RV Park, Ishpeming, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very disappointed with this park. At check-in we took a look at the assigned site and saw that the sewer hookup was in the back of the site far behind our motorhome which is a problem. We saw that the empty site across from us had the hookup in the middle of the site which was what we needed. Went back to the office and asked if we could change sites. They told us that they were full for the week and could not make any changes. We would have to buy an extension hose from them or the RV store next door. Big problem for us but we managed to get extensions to make it work. Imagine our surprise when the site we requested was empty for most of the week and had only overnight campers when it was used. It appears that the office staff does not want to put forth any effort to be accommodating so that is the reason for the poor service rating. Hookups are in random places on sites around the park. They are far behind the site in many instances and the staff does not seem to care if a particular site will not work for your rig. As for value, the park is OK but not more. There is no place to play with dogs and a lot of kids riding motorbikes around the park. Have stayed in much nicer places for $50 per night. We camped at Country Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp Mi Casa on the Route RV Park, Carthage, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed in many RV parks during our three years of traveling, and each excellent one has a stand out feature. In Camp Mi Casa it is the owners. They are friendly, helpful and always willing to go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Having a place to play with our dogs off leash is important to us and, when we asked, they let us use the large grass area at the back of park. It is flexibility and service that sets this park apart. The sites were gravel and had plenty of space between them, and everything was kept clean and neat. I especially would recommend this park to dog owners who want a pet friendly atmosphere. We camped at Camp Mi Casa on the Route RV Park in a Motorhome.

Austin East KOA Holiday, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We decided to stay here because of the 8.9 rating. Very disappointed. Based on the cost, this is not a good value unless the proximity to COTA or the event center is important. The roads and pads are deteriorating and rutted, and the sand, etc. from beneath them tracks into your RV. The "grass" between the sites consists of weeds that are kept short. The pool is very small and the common room has nothing in it but some tables. Finally, a significant number of sites are "long term" with the accompanying unsightly clutter in the "yards". We camped at Austin East KOA Holiday in a Motorhome.

Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort, Lajitas, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic Park! We spent two weeks visiting Big Bend and this was a great place from which to see that park. The facility is easy to navigate with a big rig and everything is level with paved roads and gravel sites. In between visits to the park, check out the Lajitas Resort. The restaurants are very good and the activities include everything from zip lines to stand up paddleboards. The golf course is both spectacular and demanding. Finally, the park is very dog friendly with a good dog park and lots of trails to walk the dogs behind the resort. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Motorhome.

Hoquiam River RV Park, Hoquiam, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park itself is good, but the people make it great! We stayed for a week in our motorhome with our dogs and had a fantastic time. The managers were super helpful and friendly and everyone from, the long term residents to the people staying for one night, were also very friendly. The river flowing at the back of the park is beautiful and the 9 acres of trails next to the park gave both us and the dogs a good place to exercise. Although it is next to Rt. 101 there is no road noise and no railroad trains going through at night with their horns blowing. The voltage stayed good even thought we were using up to 50 amps at times. Definitely recommend this place for anyone with a big rig. We camped at Hoquiam River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Hoquiam River does not have much to do, but the coast is close and there are a lot of places to go to enjoy the ocean. Try Copalis beach for a great hike. Lake Quinalt is also a must see in the area and if you do go there, leave enough time - 1.5 hr - to drive all the way around the lake. The rain forest is spectacular.

Deer Park RV Resort (formerly Spokane RV Resort), Deer Park, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very neat and clean. The pads are level concrete and the grass is in very good condition. Our lot looked out over a golf course. That was the good part. The bad part is that this is the unfriendliest park we have encountered on our 8 month trip. The only times we spoke with the camp "hosts" were when we were told we were breaking the rules. Never a "hello" or "let us know if you need anything". Some of the lots are privately owned and the owners are also very unfriendly. One actually yelled at our neighbor for letting their dog get too close to his property. The park is very concerned that you respect their property but does not show the same level of concern for the renters' property. The sprinkler system is on every night and it covered the side of our RV with water spots that are very difficult to remove because the water is so hard. In addition, they mowed the lawn and were not concerned about the fact that they blew the grass clippings all over the side of the bus. We will not stay here in the future although we will be back in the area next year. We camped at Deer Park RV Resort (formerly Spokane RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Park at the River, Joseph, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park was wonderful. Although the sites were close, the WiFi almost non existent and neither the cell nor satellite worked this is the favorite park of our 8 month trip. The park is right by a beautiful river and the surrounding scenery is incredibly spectacular. We spent some time with the new owners and they are absolutely delightful - get to know them if you plan to stay here. They have some fascinating stories about their adventures. We camped at Park at the River in a Motorhome.

Marina Dunes RV Park, Marina, California

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $84.00
Overall Rating:

First, let me say that I joined this to write a review about this park. It is a hidden gem for anyone with dogs as there is a large area right outside the park where dogs can go off leash and a beach where they can also be off leash. The manager and his staff are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful in any situation. Considering the excellent condition of the park and the fact that Monterey and the peninsula are under 10 miles away, we thought the price was very reasonable. The only negative is the proximity to the highway, but many of the parks we have been in are also close to a highway and had highway noise. We are in a 45 ft. motorhome and had no problems getting into or out of the park. We camped at Marina Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.
