Cade Lake Park Campground, Sturgis, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice and quiet city park with easy on/off to I-90 but far enough that you don't hear road noise and best yet, no trains! There are 62 sites including 44 with FHU. All sites are backin. Upon arrival, they told us which sites were available and let us look at them all and pick our preferred site. Very pleased with that selection process and wish more campgrounds would do that. There's a small lake with a swimming beach where you can also fish or kayak and a couple of nature trails for walking. There are also very large green grassy areas that are nicely manicured. Sites are big rig friendly but not all sites are level enough for class A RVs. The sites closest to the lake were the most level and will work best for class A rigs. There are trees by some sites that would block satellite reception but we were able to get good reception by the lake. Verizon was strong 4g with four bars. The hookups are a little quirky with water on the patio side and sewer/electric (30 amp) on the opposite side of the sight. Depending on the location of your sewer discharge you may need extra hose to reach the sewer connection because it's located midway on the site and several feet out. I dropped 1 star off the rating only because of the inconvenient utility hookup locations. There were some seasonal campers but their sites were very neat and nicely kept and they appeared to be gone most days. Staff were all very friendly, pleasant and attentive to customers. I would definitely stay again if passing through. We camped at Cade Lake Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Grocery stores, laundromat and Walmart are in town about 2 miles. The main street area through downtown has quaint little shops and eateries. There is an Amish presence and it was awesome to see several horse and buggies going down the road. There are Amish bakeries with homemade baked goods about 20 miles away but we didn't have time to visit.

Thousand Lakes RV Park, Torrey, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground and sites are long enough for big rig and tow vehicle although all big rig front wheels were slightly off ground to get level. Very clean campground and laundry facilities. Great little store with fantastic homemade muffins you can order a day ahead. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars for service is the lady who checked us in was unpleasant and not friendly at all. Made us feel like we were bothering her. Also the Wifi was terribly slow and kept bumping us off - mostly unusable. This was frustrating because there is no cell service in the campground or in the town of Torrey. Verizon is 1x in this town. You can drive about 2 1/2 miles west to get 4G or drive east and turn left on Sand Creek Road to get 3G. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Trading Post in Torrey has a nice little grocery store although high prices and their deli is delicious. Very friendly folks throughout the store.

American RV Park & Kamp , Murdo, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

There are two sections in this campground. The lower campground is older, down a dirt road that is navigable, with unpaved campsites having water and 30 amp electric. The upper camping area is new on a paved road with concrete pads and full hook up with 50 amp service. Services are excellent although the sites are very close together. There is a picnic table at each site but no cable or WiFi available but there is good satellite reception. Half the upper campsites are back-in and half are pull-through. The pull-through sites were long enough for my 35 ft motorhome and tow vehicle and I didn't have to unhook. This is a great place for a stopover. We camped at American RV Park & Kamp in a Motorhome.

There is a antique car/motorcycle museum within walking distance. Also a Pilot gas station on the way in with a decent store, Subway and propane filling if you need it.

Hill's RV Park & Campground, Plankinton, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Easy on/off from I-90. Self check-in building next to the pool. If using Passport America, Escapees or any discount club you must pay by cash or check. Credit cards will be charged the full price. Very quiet campground and the owner stopped by when we arrived to make sure everything was working to our satisfaction. Very friendly owners who aim to please. Very long sites that are level and fit my 35ft motorhome and tow vehicle with extra room to spare. Only the first 4 spaces in each row are FHU but it wasn't busy so there was no problem getting a FHU site. You can call ahead to check availability. It was nice to see there are no permanent residents living in the campground and the sites are well maintained. There is a very basic laundry room (2 washers/dryers) and showers. Didn't use the showers but they looked clean although the toilets and single shower had shower curtains instead of doors for privacy. If you're looking for a no frills place to relax and rest your head, this is the place. Great value for the price and super friendly owners. Will definitely stay again when passing through. We camped at Hill's RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a post office and small grocery store 1/2 mile into town, walking distance if you don't want to unhook your tow vehicle. Grocery store has all the basic necessities including fresh produce, some meat selections and also appeared to offer a fax service. There is a railroad museum there too but didn't have a chance to visit

RVacation RV Park, Selma, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Loved this campground. Very clean and well maintained with gorgeous landscaping and paved roads throughout the campground. The pull thru sites have plenty of room between them so you don't feel boxed in. They have a nice dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs. There's also a private lake on site where you can fish with no license although it is catch and release. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. They even sold freshly laid chicken eggs and fresh strawberries in the campground store. Easy on/off from I-95. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stagecoach RV Park, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is clean, quiet and everyone is friendly. They recently installed a dog park and have two separate areas for small and large dogs. The dog owners do a great job at keeping it clean. We stayed a week so the price reflects the weekly rate. Much appreciated the fact they put the weekly folks with longer stay campers so as not to be bothered by the comings and goings of travelers who only stay one or two nights. I would have rated them a 10 but dropped a point because the campground is not satellite friendly. I requested a satellite friendly site but they couldn't tell me which sites would accommodate and just assigned a site. With a bit of maneuvering on the assigned site I got lucky but was far from the hookups so had to add extensions to all my hoses. The site was level and long enough for a 40ft Class A with a tow vehicle. Overall this is a very nice campround and I will stay again. We camped at Stagecoach RV Park in a Motorhome.
