Genoa RV Park, Genoa, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park had level gravel sites long enough for our 5th wheel and we did not have to disconnect. There was no grass or trees but Eastern Colorado doesn't offer much for trees or grass. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful by phone in helping us locate our site after dark. There were large yard lights so it made connecting to the electric box easy. Google Map directions to the park were accurate except the small city street signs were difficult to read in the dark. Entry to the bathrooms was coded and I had not asked for the code. The covered patio had a grill, table and chairs and would have been nice to use during a summer visit. We were trying to stay ahead of a winter storm so we did not try to find the cafe or the "other" park as mentioned in an earlier review before leaving in the morning. The "sticker weeds" mentioned in an earlier post are a part of nature and no one could ever remove them all. Our dog had one stuck in his pad and we brought a few into the house on our shoes. This park is a work in progress. I saw one RV park in Limon and it was packed like sardines; Genoa RV Park was a quiet alternative to Limon facilities. We camped at Genoa RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Limon, 8 miles west, has fuel and restaurants. Flying J includes an IHOP but it was difficult to get to the diesel pumps. We crossed I70 and went to Love's with much easier diesel access.

Lazy R Campground, Ranchester, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Office is only open 2P-6P. We had to call the number on the office door to be given our site and directions how to access it. Two pull through sites next to the office have to be accessed from another drive, not the main entrance. We camped at Lazy R Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

All gravel pull through sites had 12'x15' indoor/outdoor carpeting. Long term residents had back-in sites around the perimeter, all cleanly kept. WiFi was limited. Trees will some day provide plenty of shade. We camped at River's Edge RV & Cabins Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Entering park from the west requires a sharp turn going down the hill into the park. Parking is parallel around a paved circular drive. Near the railroad tracks but train noise was not noticeable at night. No WiFi or OTA channels. No reservations, first come first serve. Three day maximum stay. Donations accepted. We camped at Karrer City Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Minute Man RV Park & Lodging (formerly Circle 10 Campground), Philip, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Right off I90 but very little highway noise. Sites were grass with some gravel. Many were rutted and unlevel. We had to park at an angle in our site to avoid large rutted puddle. Buddy sites were too close together but management tried to use alternate sites to avoid crowding. We camped at Minute Man RV Park & Lodging (formerly Circle 10 Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground, Gillette, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Not the worst campground we have stayed in but less than average. It was difficult to contact the campground to get reservations. The voicemail was full on my first call. When I did get an answer she asked me to text our needs and she would respond. When we arrived the office was closed and when I tried to call the voice mail was still full. In looking for her I found junk and trash behind fences and buildings. Another resident told me she was parking another camper. When she returned to check us in, the office was about the same; I'm not sure if the shelves were a small store or just storage. The sites directly in front of the office appear nice with shade, grass, and gravel pads. The tent sites were shaded and grassy. We were lead back down the hill we had just come up and parked in a gravel site. The campground map is extremely misleading since sites are tucked in on the hillside. This may have been a nice campground at one time and sites were added in any nook & cranny available. The "basketball court" is behind us and consists of a broken hoop hung on the edge of the shop. The good thing is the site is long enough and level so we did not have to unhook. We camped at Green Trees Crazy Woman Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Billings Village RV Park, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We were pleasantly surprised by this park. The alternatives on the river had been flooded in the spring and were $35 more. Paved roads throughout. Sites were asphalt with some gravel at the back of the site. Our 40' fifth wheel fit easily with parking for the truck on asphalt next to the rig. Well maintained lawn to sit in the shade. Laundry was clean; washers were 1.50 and dryers were 25 cents for 8 minutes. It was a little tight maneuvering into the back in site due to vehicles parked across from our site but leaving was easier. When I mentioned it to the office she said she could have asked them to move their vehicle had we asked. The permanent sites mentioned in earlier reviews were mostly segregated on the north row. We camped at Billings Village RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Acres Campground, Lewistown, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This was our third stay and I can't believe I haven't reviewed it before. The first stay we had a back in but the last two years we have gotten pull throughs. Each year has had different people in the office and maintenance. Last summer the sites all looked great and maintenance was out mowing, watering, collecting trash, and visiting with guests. Unfortunately this year lawns were not as well maintained. In 10 days our lawn was never mowed even though we told the office we would be gone overnight so they could get it with the push mower. Some were entirely brown and we were told it was due to overspray of weed killer; looked pretty evenly spread to be overspray. Laundry was clean when I used it last year but this year I opted for the laundromat downtown due to the amount of laundry. I don't remember previously paying a pet deposit but this year there was a flat $12 pet fee. We'll stay again because it is the only option and we have family to visit. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Wednesday evening is a street dance a block off Main St. The Mexican restaurant on Main St is good. The Brewery opened in a historic feed mill across from the Yogo Inn. The Dash Inn is a great little drive in hanging on despite McDonalds and Burger King on the opposite end of town. Big rig friendly truck stop on the east edge of town.

Benton RV Park, Fort Benton, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

There are only a couple paved streets in town and the RV park roads were also gravel. The manager was extremely friendly and apologized for the fireworks since she had told me there wouldn't be any that weekend. (PTSD is the issue). Our site was originally set up as 2 so it was extra long and we had our choice of which hookups to use. We were also on the outside end and separated from others by trees which provided shade. Two washer and dryers are in a cramped alcove in the office area. No OTA and limited cell because the city sits on the valley floor. We camped at Benton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Decent grocery store and hardware store in town. Rig friendly fuel coming in to town from the north. Ft Benton sits on the Missouri River is full of history about Lewis & Clark. The River Walk and the Museum Complex is worth a visit. It's also a short drive in to Great Falls to the L & C Interpretive Center.

Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds, Helena, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

No landscaping, just weeds that needed to be mowed. The picnic table was in such bad shape we couldn't even sit at it. There was a pit toilet and showers were available near the office but we did not use them. There were no signs indicating the RV park once we entered the fairgrounds; luckily I had gotten directions when I made the reservation. We were assigned a site when reserving but they said if we found a better site to just let them know. Our fresh water tank was full but there were water spigots available in the parking lot. No WiFi and OTA television was sketchy. For the price it was a good place to park while visiting family. We camped at Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Three Forks , Three Forks, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This was our 4th visit to Camp Three Forks. It is our "go to" when in the area; far enough from Yellowstone so it's not packed every night and close to I-90. Staff does a great job keeping up the landscape. Laundry is 2.50 per load. Since our visit last year the old pool area has been cleaned up, the pool filled in, and a new patio area with gazebo is in process. Truck stop at the interstate interchange has easy fuel access as well as a large convenience store. Three Forks has a grocery store or Bozeman is 30 minutes east. We camped at Camp Three Forks in a Fifth Wheel.

Buffalo Meadows RV Park (Fort Hall Casino Campground), Fort Hall, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This was only our 2nd stay at a casino and we were pleasantly surprised. Most casinos we have seen provide electric in their parking lot. This has large grassy sites with shade. Private showers and toilets. Laundry is only 1.25 per load. A grocery store is within walking distance and fuel is easily accessible for big rigs before getting back on the interstate. The down side is there is no signage for the RV park or where to check in. From the casino parking lot we called for directions. The customer service manager came out and rode in our truck to get us to the west side parking lot so we could check in at the Cashier Cage. No Wifi. We camped at Buffalo Meadows RV Park (Fort Hall Casino Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a last minute decision so was glad we got in. The manager said she would watch for us since we were arriving after the office closed. She had two sites available when I called and saved us the longer pull thru. The site was so level we did not need to unhook. Several OTA channels available and serviceable WiFi.
