Frog City RV Park, Duson, Louisiana
Date of Stay:
December, 2017 -
$32.00
Overall Rating:
This is a great place to stop overnight on your way across the country. Close to I-10, with a filling station on the way in. We've stayed here twice overnight on our way to Florida to visit relatives. Will definitely keep doing so, staff is very friendly. The pool looks nice, but we didn't use it. We camped at Frog City RV Park in a Motorhome.

San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA, Petaluma, California
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$50.00
Overall Rating:
Noisy neighbors after quiet hours, loud music and yelling. Called the office, nobody there. Two nights in a row this went on, loud enough that I could hear it in my camper with the windows closed and a TV and a white noise machine on. I left a couple of messages for the office personnel, but we're leaving in the morning anyway, so I guess they won't care. I will never return to this KOA. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.

Eugene Kamping World RV Park, Coburg, Oregon
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$28.00
Overall Rating:
Old park with many permanent residents who keep junk under/around their rigs. Most sites don't even have septic, and the dump station is a little awkward to get to. This is an ok place to spend a night or two, but if you're looking for a week or more, find something else. Cable is intermittent, wifi drops suddenly and stays down for hours. Restrooms/showers are old and need an upgrade, but they are clean enough and there is plenty of hot water. Laundry is relatively cheap, and the driers are good. We camped at Eugene Kamping World RV Park in a Motorhome.
Coburg pizza is worth a visit.

Southern Hills RV Park and Campground, Hermosa, South Dakota
Date of Stay:
June, 2017 -
$25.00
Overall Rating:
This is a new campground. The sites are fairly level, all gravel with a small cement pad on the side with a picnic table. Sites are long and wide, plenty of room for a big rig and a tow vehicle. We were able to park our tow in the shade of our motorhome during the afternoon. In the summer, the sun is pretty intense. Some shade trees would be nice, but that will come I'm sure. Overall, a great value. We camped at Southern Hills RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.
Convenient to Mount Rushmore, Rapid City, Sturgis, Deadwood, pretty much anywhere in the Black Hills you want to go. Devil's Tower in Wyoming is only a couple of hours away.

Desert Rose RV Park, Fernley, Nevada
Date of Stay:
May, 2017 -
$39.00
Overall Rating:
If you're just staying overnight, this isn't a terrible place. There are a LOT of people who live here full time, though, and they leave for work very early. The spaces are not quite 50 ft. long, so if your rig/tow car is longer than that, find somewhere else. Cable worked well, the wifi was so-so, and the staff was friendly enough. Sites are concrete, but the road is gravel with rather large speed bumps, and it's not wide enough for two rigs at once. We camped at Desert Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wendover KOA, West Wendover, Nevada
Date of Stay:
May, 2017 -
$38.00
Overall Rating:
Nobody in the office when we arrived, but it was Mother's day. We had reserved and paid online, and there was a list of expected arrivals, so we just headed to our site and hooked up. Location is nice if you're here to gamble, within easy walking distance to two casinos. The grounds need some work, the place looks abandoned. Sites are fairly level, the whole place is gravel. Wifi is lousy, even with only 6 campers in the whole place. Forty bucks is way too much for this. We camped at Wendover KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed overnight. Very clean showers and restrooms. Didn't use laundry, but it looks well maintained. Easy in and out, pull thru was fairly level and long enough for a big rig with a tow car. The entire park is gravel, but it seems to be well maintained, no big dips or holes. We camped at Raton KOA in a Motorhome.

Whip In RV Park, Big Spring, Texas

Overall Rating:
Stayed overnight and left early morning. Didn't use the facilities, so no rating. Site was a gravel pull-thru and fairly level, plenty of room for a big rig with a tow car. I reserved my space online, and staff was very friendly when we got there. Wifi was very good. We camped at Whip In RV Park in a Motorhome.
