The Cove RV Resort, Gadsden, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The truck pulling my fifth wheeler broke down across the street from the Cove RV Resort. After calling them, the tow truck took my truck and 5th wheeler across the street. People at The Cove took my 5th wheeler to a lot, and the tow truck took my vehicle to the shop. We registered at the store, which is located away from the campground. After registering, a golf cart took my wife and I, and our two dogs in a golf cart tow where our RV was parked. The RV lot is on a very scenic lake that you can fish in, a lot of walking areas for your pets and just a nice clean park. Your trash is picked up from your lot. The swimming pool was clean and was set up nicely. A lot of restaurants and gas stations are nearby. Walmart is less than 1/2 mile away. I originally stayed there because of my vehicle breakdown, but ended staying there a week. We camped at The Cove RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Hitchin Post Corral and Campground RV Park, Cottondale, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Really enjoyed our stay at the park. The campground owner was wonderful and very conscientious about making sure you are taken care of. My only complaint was the noise from I-10. The park is close to the interstate and the noise from the interstate is always present. The campground is clean, has one-way to get in and one-way to get out. At the campground is an assortment of yard activities. They also have two horses that are always happy to come to the fence to be petted. The owner leaves treats out for you to give the horses. We bought apples and carrots to feed them treats daily. Also around her residence is a family of white rabbits. I really enjoyed my stay there but the traffic noise was bothersome at times. A lot of the surrounding towns has been hit hard by Hurricane Michael and has not fully recovered. About an hour away is Panama City Beach and they have fully recovered. Right at the turn-off to the campground are two truck stops. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and enjoyed the owner's hospitality. We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Big Oak RV Park, Tallahassee, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in a pull-through lot in our 5th wheeler. Easy access getting in and parked. The park is very clean. The lots are a bit narrow. The lots are graveled and long enough for my fifth wheeler and truck hooked up. What is great about this park is how close it is to all the attractions in the Tallahassee area. So much to see in the area. They have quite a few stray cats roaming the area that are not a nuisance or anything but did get my dogs aroused. The staff in the office was very friendly and professional. I would definitely stay here again if in the Tallahassee area. We camped at Big Oak RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Tallahassee Auto Museum was unbelievable, a must see. Nearby Wakulla Springs is a nice place to visit, take the boat ride and enjoy swimming in the cold springs. A lot to see in downtown Tallahassee. Stop by the Visitor's Center they will give you a map and ideas of what to see while there.

Milton / Gulf Pines KOA, Milton, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in a fifth wheel. The park was very clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly. The campground had a nice pool, a putt-putt golf course and areas to walk your dog. The wi-fi was excellent and with the cable, you had over 100 stations. I very much enjoyed my experience there. Nice level roads to bike around the park. We camped at Milton / Gulf Pines KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Wind Creek Casino RV Park, Atmore, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed there in our 41 foot fifth wheeler. Easy access to the site and it was paved and level. There is no shade there at all. It has an area inside the rim of the park and the outside perimeter to walk your dogs. There is a shuttle that you call and they pick you up at your campsite and deliver you to the casino. Want to go back, just call again and the transportation is there and free. In the casino, you can use the spa, the movie theater, the swimming pool, bowling alley and eat at the buffet. There is a lot to do in the area, though Atmore is a small town. You receive several OTA stations but no cable. That is the only reason I did not give it a 10 rating. Easy access on and off I-65. We camped at Wind Creek Casino RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Visit the Warehouse Market and Bakery nearby. Worth the visit. The Poarch Creek Indian Museum is a nice cultural site and has a lot of exhibits and it is free of charge. The Perdido Winery is not too far away and you can sample the many wines. The staff can tell you all the history of brewing and going through prohibition. If you are a veteran, you are discounted on your purchases.

Oak Mountain State Park, Pelham, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

My problem was that I had a lot in the Equestrian area of the park and entrance into the Equestrian is not marked and many campers including myself turn down the wrong entrance and have a difficult time turning around. The park is very nice and scenic. While we were there there was a lot of road construction. They have a lot of bicycling and walking trails in the park. Gas stations and Wal-Mart are nearby for any missing items. Fire rings were too close to the RVs to actually use. We camped at Oak Mountain State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Really have to see American Village in Montevallo. Recreations of Mt Vernon, the White House oval office, museum and historical recreations. Well worth the visit. Admission for veterans is free. Otherwise it is $10.00. Well worth the price.

Cypress Landing, Dozier, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the campground in a pull-through lot. There were a few small trees but no shade in this park. The park has a general store for fishing and groceries. The park is about 10 miles outside of Andalusia which has grocery stores, restaurants, Wal-Mart and anything you might need. The park is flat and good for just riding your bicycle around. My biggest complaint is the roads are very dusty and when other campers or drivers pass by, a cloud of dust follows. The campground has great WI-FI and the cable has over 100 stations. The people are very friendly and accommodating. I thought it was bit bit pricey. We camped at Cypress Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Sweetwater / I-75 / Exit 62 KOA, Sweetwater, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the campground in a 41 foot fifth wheeler. The lot was graveled and a bit close to adjoining lots. My biggest peeve was the low water pressure. The campground had great Wi-Fi and good cable selection. I was impressed with the activities around the campground which included a pond which you could catch and release fish. There were inflatable pads for kids and Halloween decorations really added accent to the campground. There were nature trails to walk the dogs. It is close to the interstate and close to the city of Sweetwater. We camped at Sweetwater / I-75 / Exit 62 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nearby the campground was the Dinner Bell Restaurant which had a country buffet at a reasonable price. It also had a general store with a nice assortment of souvenirs and misc. items. If visiting, the Sweetwater Farm has a farm that manufactures their own cheese, worth the visit. Downtown Sweetwater is a nice place to visit. Start with the visitor's center and they will let you know of all attractions in the area.

Wytheville KOA, Wytheville, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

The park was very clean and the staff was very courteous. A lot of activities to do within the campground. They have plenty of areas to walk your dogs as well as the K-9 camps. The only reason I did not give them a 10 was because of internet speed. A lot to do in downtown Wytheville. We camped at Wytheville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Endless Caverns Resort, New Market, Virginia

Overall Rating:

We had a drive through graveled lot. There are no OTA stations, and wi-fi is marginal. The campground is hilly and scenic. The city of New Market, Timberville and Harrisonburg are all nearby. A lot of civil war history in New Market and area. The staff was friendly and helpful in anything you needed help with. We camped at Endless Caverns Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA, Natural Bridge, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly and courteous. They had a pool and game room and many activities for children. They had plenty of areas to walk our dogs. They had a nature trail that got you in the woods and not very long. Easy access getting off and on Interstate 81. A lot to see in Lexington. My only issue was the wifi was intermittent. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

When camping there there is so much to see in Lexington which is within 10 min drive. A lot of historical sites. Washington and Lee chapel has the grave of Robert E. Lee and family. Virginia Military Institute is adjacent and quite a site to see. There is a large Wal-Mart also in Lexington. If staying there you have to get lunch/dinner at the Pink Cadillac Diner which is within a half mile to the turn off to the campground. Also they have a gas station and a nearby mechanic if needed. Staff is wonderful!

We stayed three nights. You check into the Valero Gas Station and are escorted to the lot. We had a gravel pull-through. We had several OTA TV stations because they had no cable. Did get multiple stations. Commercial planes are constantly flying overhead. There is a Publix grocery store almost within walking distance. The traffic in and around Charlotte is horrendous. A lot to see and do around the city. WiFi was marginal. Plenty of areas to walk your dogs. Nice area to wash clothes. We camped at Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We went to the James K. Polk birthplaces just a few miles away. Also visited the Olde Mecklenberyg Brewery which resembles a German Beer Hall. And not too far from the brewery is Billy Graham's birthplace well worth the visit. A lot to see and do in the area, but the traffic is horrendous.

We stayed here in our 41 foot Fifth wheeler. Nice park, though a bit packed. It has a nice walking area for dogs along the stream with a dog park also there. I heard that it was in a bad part of Tulsa, but we had no issues nor noticed any problems staying there. They had a large area for washing clothes, with a pool table and an area to relax.
