Big Lagoon State Park, Pensacola, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

There wasn't even a camp host. Restrooms seem like they were never cleaned. Roads were narrow and full of potholes. Sites were short and tight. We (fortunately) got on a concrete pad, one of maybe 3 in the entire park and it was strictly by accident. Lots of tent campers. Almost like they're living there because there is very little oversight. The walkways down to the beach have rotten boards so you have to watch where you walk. We won't be back. By the way, Florida take a page from GA...their state parks are gorgeous. Really ashamed that the park was so run down...Pensacola Naval Air Museum is right there. Blue Angels have free practices if you schedule your visit right. Beaches are gorgeous. We camped at Big Lagoon State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA , Montgomery, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

You might as well park at Walmart....stuck in the middle of a concrete jungle. We probably could have changed spots but it wouldn't have mattered. Had a relative stop by to visit who was handicapped...parked in the open spot next to us (the park was only 1/3 full...maybe) management came by and told us he could not park there. There was no marked ADA accommodations for parking in the camping area....he was only there for 3 hours...THEN they wanted to charge us $10for his entrance. It was not gated so there is no control with who enters or leaves the park. Couldn't use the fire ring because the spots are so close you might set your rig on fire....NEVER stay here. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Cherokee Campground, Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet park only 6 miles from Helen. Many full time campers and fairly well maintained. Great owners, gravel sites, some pull thrus. No kids (!!!) but there is a playground away from the sites. Overall the best deal in town. Full hookup, good wi-if and 60 cable channels! All for $25 a night. Common room old, not used much. Bathrooms and shower area old but clean. We'll be back. We camped at Cherokee Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Plenty to do and see in Helen, Unicoi, Anna Ruby Falls, Brasstown Ball. Great shops in Sautée Nacoochee. Hit the visitor center in Helen before you plan you day trips.

Ginnie Springs Outdoors, High Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

If you're looking for a family camping trip, skip over this park. Fees are based per person PLUS electric. Party central for young tent campers with no supervision of the grounds at night. Dirty restrooms, poor staffing, no site maintenance. Don't waste your money. There are other campgrounds on the river that are way better than this place...state of Florida should shut it down. We camped at Ginnie Springs Outdoors in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The ONLY thing to do there is tubing the river run. Great for a hot day but you can do it in other parks. This place is a dump.
