Jamaica Beach RV Park, Galveston, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in a deluxe site. Nice level concrete with palm tree. Lots of fun things to do. Lazy river great as was pool and mini golf. Even have a turtle habitat in the middle of the golf course. Twice a week breakfast for $6 was good. The area apparently had three weeks of rain right before we got there which may have accounted for the horrendous mosquito invasion. WiFi was pretty spotty. Dish reception good. Stickers/ burrs in the grass were annoying and still pulling them out of my carpet. We camped at Jamaica Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bushman's RV Park AKA Bushman's Camp, Bullard, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time we have stayed here for a week while visiting family. Very nice park that is well maintained. Nice fishing pond, pool and hot tub. Individual small dog areas which is unique. Shower/bathroom rating is well deserved. Easy in and out off of highway. Four covered areas with picnic tables and grills and adjacent fire pit. We were next to a long term rv whose site was unkempt and dog had worn a muddy mess, but owners assured that they were addressing this. Otherwise all sites in very nice shape. Concrete strips for rv wheels with grass in between. We had some sporadic wifi, but may have been our site placement. The tables are permanent, square, and in inconvenient place at most sites. Nice wide roads. We camped at Bushman's RV Park AKA Bushman's Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

59 Trading Place RV Park, Cleveland, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

More than one entrance. If you take the one GPS leads you to, you will have to wind through the flea market parking. Office not easy to find unless you come in the one specific entrance. Wifi non existent - only got it to show up once on the list and never could get connected. Concrete pad, but very narrow and drop offs on both sides. Lots of old crappy long term rv's on site. Our site was part rock, part mud and part long weeds. Stayed only one night but would not stay again. We camped at 59 Trading Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Great park! Very neat and clean. Good sized sites with picnic table and grassy area. Nice pool. Lots of long term folks but very tidy. Sweet couple managing the facility. Feeding and watching the alpacas lots of fun. Good WiFi and cable. If you have trouble getting connected to WiFi, allow pop ups, then reboot computer We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great park, large level concrete sites with a blacktop spot to park your vehicle. Friendly helpful staff. Nice store and clubhouse area. Really nice pool and adult hot tub area with nice grills and tables. Very clean and well kept. Our only issue was with WiFi. It only worked for us when we sat in front of one specific window in the rv, but would still frequently have to be disconnected/reconnected. Office suggested something in our rv might be blocking the signal but the same thing would happen outside at the picnic table, and the iPad only connected once in a week. It was pretty frustrating. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The free limo ride to the Big Texan Ranch Steakhouse was a hoot ( and the steak was good!) We recommend the Esquire Jazz Club downtown. No cover charge on Wednesday nights when they have an excellent blues singer/guitar, plus free popcorn and slice of pizza in a nice atmosphere.

Rocking A RV Park, Vernon, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

All grass sites, level, appeared well kept. Good for overnight stay. Would not stay again due to only one thing... the terribly "unwelcome" reception when we arrived. We are full timers and have been in hundreds of campgrounds and have never encountered someone with the attitude of the woman who checked us in. Never smiled, not one pleasant comment, and all comments and responses were sarcastic or defensive. We camped at Rocking A RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mesa Verde RV Park, Wolfforth, Texas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with paved streets, level gravel sites. Lots of long term folks, but as mentioned in another review, you wouldn't know it except for large propane tanks. A little grass on some of the sites, but we had none. No picnic table. Nice staff, helpful in giving information about the area. We camped at Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Carlsbad KOA, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Site was fine. Can't remember exactly what we paid... we had a KOA discount plus used some KOA credit. Pool was nice and had a roof over part of the sitting area which gave some nice shade, but pool closed at 7:30 p.m. which we thought was pretty early. Wifi pretty useless. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

One of our favorites. Great staff who went out of their way to move things around so we could stay another week and not move to another site. Loved our back in site which had a large cement patio and plenty of space. I thought the back in spaces around the perimeter had a little more room and more pleasant atmosphere than the group of pull throughs in front of the office. Office has lots of information about the area and give you a handout with information regarding RV repairs, RV supplies, hospital, veterinarians, truck stops, nearest grocer, Walmart etc. Nice walking trail. Nice sculptures throughout the park. They had free Tango dance lessons one evening a week which was fun! We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Isleta Lakes & RV Park, Isleta Pueblo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with level lots, good wifi, Direct TV, hookups all fine. Price reflects "stay two nights, get third free". We stayed 6 nights so got 2 nights free. No real vegetation except around the two lakes, but they did a nice job of adding some appeal with areas of small red color rock outlined by smooth stones at each site. Picnic tables are covered (although this didn't get us any shade). In the longer sites the picnic table is oddly placed well forward of the tongue of our fifth wheel and looks like it belongs to the RV next door. They have grills at each site. The lakes are right next to the camp area and popular for fishing. They sell fishing equipment and bait at the office/store. We did not use the railrunner train but you can apparently take this commuter train to Santa Fe for sight seeing. Train noise did not bother us. We camped at Isleta Lakes & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA, Las Vegas, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Will not stay here again. Used three levels of leveling blocks (all we had) and were still not anywhere close to level. Water pressure was so low that the toilet barely flushed. At 3 a.m. had no water. Determined water pressure had dropped so low there was not enough to get through the hose to the RV! It was back to normal bad pressure a few hours later. WiFi virtually unusable it was so slow. Roads were tight and had deep ruts and if you were coming down the hill to leave it was a little unnerving. The road off the interstate to get to the campground was also very bad. Site did have a picnic table and fire pit. Pool was OK, but too icy cold to get in. Shower was clean but poor pressure there also and difficult to regulate temp. We camped at Las Vegas, New Mexico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Circle The Wagons RV Park , La Veta, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Loved this park. Had a "river" site, and although river currently dry, the river site gave us a large shady area between the back of the rv and the river. Lots of trees and shade. Deer roaming nearby. Great view of the Spanish Peaks. Great new owners. Community fire pit nightly with many campers present. Large library of books and DVD's. Owner posts a board of activities going on during the week in the area. WiFi good. ATT phone service good. We only got two stations on OTA antenna (Child PBS and another station we never heard of) and only a few stations using our DISH (no cable). We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The town of LaVeta is very small, but has numerous art galleries, a post office, gas station, quaint grocery store with ice cream/soda fountain. Cuchara about 11 miles away with quaint shops and restaurants. Try the hwy 12 / I25 scenic highway loop. There is a free app - TravelStorys - for a great audio tour while you travel the loop.

Haggard's RV Campground, Pueblo West, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Park is gravel with small little areas of grass and in the middle of nowhere (grass doesn't grow here lol) Very nice park owners who were very helpful when our truck broke down and we were stranded for two days. Level, spacious site with plenty of room to park truck next to the fifth wheel. Very good wifi. AT&T service ok. Water tasted bad even with our filter, but we bought a bag of ice and used bottled water to drink and were fine. Pueblo about 17 miles away. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Eagle RV Park, Thermopolis, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little park with lots of shade. We are in a pull through but will have to back out when we leave due to a tree. (We knew this when we made the reservation. The owner even took a picture of the site and sent to us to see if that was ok.)

Needed levelers on one side. Dedicated space to park the truck. Space next door offset so we don't walk out door near their sewer. Nice, friendly owners. Escort to site. Helpful in finding us a repair shop in town for truck brakes. Able to provide lots of information regarding area attractions. We camped at Eagle RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
