Marquette Tourist Park, Marquette, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

would've rated higher if paved/stone pads. We stayed at #70 with our 40' motorhome with plenty of space. You'll need extra sewer drain and some of those elevation runs. I picked up some at a walmart up the road. The location is great with bike trails connecting to the lake front and to the hills for mountain bikers. We easily biked to park Isle and up and down the lake. A short drive to sugar loaf mountains and to little park Isle. About 30 min to Munising where we recommend the "riptide ride" boat tour, Amazing! We will be back. We camped at Marquette Tourist Park in a Motorhome.

Wisconsin State Fair RV Park, West Allis, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

I don't mind a parking lot/campground, I've boondocked plenty. I asked for a pull-through, specifying I would just be spending the one night and didn't want to unhook my dolly/toad. Well, the spots aren't long enough to keep hooked up so had to unhook. Their layout on the pull-through area is shared power, water, and sewer stations for a pair of spots on a diagonal. I'd say the sewer connection is closer to my driver's side window, power center and water just behind the power hookup. If I had the other spot it would be more normal (toward left rear). Looking at their map all the spots have this shared system so if you don't get a pull-through, one is backed in the other pulled in forward. The parking lot is slightly unlevel, It isn't the worst I've seen. Plenty of rigs with blocks in the area. My front was up a little higher, my power steps (2) could've used another runner. The park was fairly full, don't know if some event near by. We camped at Wisconsin State Fair RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ontonagon Township Park and Campground, Ontonagon, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

#65-70 back in, right on lake superior, crushed stone spots. You'll need to call early in the morning the day you're coming to hold a spot, that's the only downside for planning a vacation. I had made a reservation at another campground and cancelled after arriving here. We camped at Ontonagon Township Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park / Union Bay Campground, Ontonagon, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We reserved #25 based on other reviews. Beautiful view of lake. We decided not to stay here just because the weather was forecast to rain allot during our stay and I would've been concerned about getting stuck. The morning of the drive up I called the Ontonagon Township park to make a reservation (no cost to reserve) just in case we didn't like union bay. We checked in Ontonagon and then drove the toad to union bay. Very happy with our decision. The campground had received allot of rain already and muddy sites, #25 seemed ok. I brought some 8' 2x12's and some other scraps. I would've had to use them and the site still is dirty. When I was leaving another 40' motorhome was at the gate trying to find another spot to stay, his was flooded. I offered mine. Some crushed stone would make these sites great, otherwise you might get stuck. I tried several times to find out the status of the sites by calling and never could get through to the ranger. I rate this site 3 of 5 under ideal conditions. Tight spots, #25 is a parallel spot and with my compact toad would be tight. I looked like there was additional parking a few spots down. If you decide to go to Ontonagon park call when they open at 8am (est) ask for #65-70 for big rigs and great water front. We camped at Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park / Union Bay Campground in a Motorhome.
